John entertains a packed audience with a story about how he deals with people who get between him and his DQ. Catch Johns live act at the All-Star Gala appearance July 16 at Massey Hall.
He was a special kind of guy. I met him a couple times in Philly and he was so kind and took time with his fans. There are a few of his concerts on here to enjoy thankfully 😊
I'm a young man that grew up with all older cousins and brothers, I love the fact they showed me all things that are music, comedy and movies, horror and fantasy. We younger people have CGI but back then it was all practical for the most part, even in the early CGI days
"So he wipes the blood from his head" This line from John always cracks me up regardless of the story. I just picture him raging and slamming the person into the ground...Dairy Queen is that important!
Almost did ... missed the Brea CA show, was booked to Ontario (Calif) a couple days later instead. John flew back to Pittsburgh between shows... and died there. :(
My dad saw John playing Craps in Vegas and walked up to him said said “I love your work. Keep it up.” And John shook my dad’s hand and said “Thank you so much sir. It really means a lot. Would you like an autograph?” My dad said “Nay nay.” John then gave my dad a hug.
John Pinette was that rare type of comedian who you could watch or listen to over and over again, until you can almost repeat the act yourself, and STILL laugh your butt off at every line. A master storyteller who enjoyed his own jokes. RIP.
My only regret is not finding this guy sooner... I discovered him a month ago and was so saddened to know he is not around anymore. He would be a great show. Thank goodness for RU-vid
Perhaps I cast unfair judgement on others, but I often assume people who espouse "clean" comedy automatically reject "dirty" comedy. Both types of comedy can be quite funny. And "dirty" comedy can also be quite hard to get right. Just look at the bit from Eddie Murphy (Either Delirious or Raw) when he said, in so many words, that you can't just get up on stage and rattle off swear words or vulgarities. You have to put some jokes in between such words. And the actual jokes he told were very funny. I believe that the mistake people make when they hear any comic utter vulgarities is to automatically make up their mind that such a comedian is, by default, not funny. In fact, they don't listen past the "objectionable" words to even hear the actual jokes. Thus, they are casting unfair judgement and have made themselves unqualified to fairly judge how funny anyone is Carlin, Pryor, Murphy, et al were and are just as funny as Pinette, Cosby, and anyone else touted as a "clean" comedian. And, speaking of Cosby, let's not forget how he was held up as an example of wholesome, family humor. And then we find out what he has been accused of doing behind closed doors. See, there's the way man thinks things are, and then there is the way things actually are. I don't know claim to know much more than anyone else. But I pay attention and I am open to learn how things actually are. I believe that makes all the difference.
@@Soxruleyanksdrool You're right. Some idiots think comedians automatically get a laugh if they use the F word. That's ignorant. Clean comedy. Blue comedy. It's all good.
I can't believe the tempo on these jokes, and how you can picture like a funny movie in your head while listening to how he tells them. That was quality comedy, much better than most (not all but most) of today's comedians. Sorry to know he passed away. May he rest in peace.
March 23, 1964 - April 5, 2014 in Pittsburgh. Reported he suffered both liver and heart disease, but cause of death was lung blockage/ pulmonary embolism. Gone too soon.
You were a diamond, John Pinette. Thank you for the way you told a story. Funny, smart and clean. Wow! The total package. You are loved and missed, my friend.
I don't mind bad words in comedy, but be FUNNY. This guy knew how to deliver comedy with his expressions, mannerisms and way he told stories and rarely ever was lewd. Miss him...he was a National Treasure! RIP!
I stumbled across these You Tube videos of him for the first time last year. I've been hooked ever since. What a monster talent he was. Gone way too soon.
This is the funniest man I have ever seen perform. His departure is a tremendous loss to the comic world. Rest in peace, John Pinette. You are greatly missed by all whose lives you've brightened with your delightful sense of humor. 😢 (Have one on me.🍦)
@@crosisofborg5524 Well pretending he didn't love buffets will resurrect him, right? No? So you're just a moron whose family was right when they ignored you!
He will be missed. He was so funny and always made me laugh until it hurt. Never said a bad word; his videos you can watch with your kids. Hilarious! Well done, John Pinette. Thank you for the laughs. God bless.
Some might not know, but John did a clean act and a late night "adult language" act. He never would string along a bunch of 4 letter words, but every now and then, he would use a few choice words. "Show Me the Buffet!" is the CD to hear his adult version. It's not really that bad.
I've started using some of his lines . People look at me and whisper "Don't mess with old people" and they step aside. I'm only 62 yrs young but love saying "Nay Nay" and "Get out of the Line !!" 😎😂🤣
I love John's stuff. He was so intelligent with that razor wit that had me screaming with laughter. He never needed to be cursing and swearing. His comedy was the high standard of "Fraser Crane" quality. The thinking man's comedian. I was very sad when he passed away. He brought so much joy with his performances. "Nay, nay..."
I LOVE that you put him in Frasier Crane's standard of humor. You're absolutely spot on. Thinking man's comic, with wit and timing as his craft, no need for unneeded blue material. The occasional swear word was apropos of delivered content, not just there because it tumbled out of his mouth.
Iruparazzo not if you are a radio engineer. i have been running diagnostics since 8 am ctz and im still not done im a little over 4 hours away from working 24 hours :) these little comment debates keep me awake during the rendering time
My wife and I were sitting at a chichi's Mexican restaurant years ago and they had Jon on the Big screen TV. We were laughing so hard just watching him we didn't finish our meal. He just had that way about him.
As an employee from Dairy Queen, I have lost count of the number of times that a customer has asked me, "How big is the small, is it big?" Not to mention other incredibly unnecessary questions such as, "What's in the Reese's Blizzard?" or even, "Do you have vanilla ice cream?" IT DRIVES ME CRAZY!!!
I worked in McDonald's for four years. I can't tell you how often I had this conversation: "I'd like a chocolate cone." "I'm sorry, we only have vanilla." "Oh. Can I have a twist?" WHAT DID I JUST SAY!? But the worst had to be the lady who came through drive-thru and ordered a chicken wrap. "Would you like that crispy, or grilled?" "What's the difference?" !!!! "Crispy has breading on it, and grilled is naked meat that's...grilled." "Oh. Does it matter?" "I need to know which one you want so I can tell the grill team." "Grilled, I guess." "Would you like ranch, honey mustard, or barbecue?" "I don't care - pick one." Frank's Red Hot it is, then.
Becky Murphy same thing occurs at DQ. I manage one. Or they order McFlurries. But i know a few of the McDonalds employees down the street. People there order blizzards. Couple of weeks ago i had a car in drive ordering food. Never mind they were creating their own menu with stuff we do not have. What’s that big board with pictures and writing in front of them right? Once they begin to do that then 100 questions starts. I’d like to really just ask what in the world they want.
Just discovered John about 2 weeks ago. He is so funny and right on the mark about alot of things. I worked in food service for 38 years and in grocery store for15 years. He says out loud what I would say in my mind when having someone do or say those things. He was a voice for all of us in customer service. Hopefully some people learned from that. Thank you John for giving us hope. You will be well missed. Prayers and blessings to your family.
Sorry to hear this fine lad had passed away. I too was a DQ addict..... but then they pulled the plug and REMOVED blueberry from the menu of shakes and malts.... WTF? that's un-American.
one of the funniest comedians that all can listen to, never using swears as most of the comedians of today who have the need to follow the slue of every other word swearing comics
