Just saw JP in Toronto last week and as I was watching and listening, I thought that "this guy is just doing what he does at home every day, except today he is "working" ". here is the evidence. He just can't help being extraordinary while at the same time being Mr. Natural. He is a phenomenon and more importantly is obviously a great person, which in today's world is even more rare. He can make a simple little nylon stringed guitar without amplification sound as good as one with tons of effects and processing and amplification just from skill and interesting harmonic structure.

With the Pizzarellis, John and Jessica, poised to begin a "2-week residency at New York's Cafe Carlyle" (November 8-29, 2022) I left them a note: If only I could be there, I would request 'The Way You Look Tonight.' I'd just celebrated -- for an umpteenth time, elsewhere -- the definitive recording by Sinatra (below). And of course, the intuitive genius that is RU-vid circa 2022 sent this my way. Recorded at the cottage two summers ago, I'd not seen it before. It's now my "other favorite version."
