Oh WhyOh WHy oh. I began the coronavirus quarantine, playing this song on endless repeat. Then I picked up my trusty guitar and began learning the simple yet complex chord movement under the eloquent lyric, a poetic wonder, truth writ large, in a storytelling epic. Forever Standing, standing by peaceful waters. Oh why Oh why Oh, we gotta go now ! Nice segue to Muelenburg County reprise closer.

I don't know how many times I saw John perform. I've counted ticket stubs but who can keep up with 'em after so many years. I will never forget meeting him and shaking his hand tho. That was back around 1981 I'd guess. He probably didn't know how much he meant to so many people while he was with us. I bet he knows now that he is smoking that nine mile long cigarette. Bet he'd say, "Aw, heck."

Thanks You for this, just stumbled onto it and it made my heart soar as well as brought a tear to my eye. I have loved his music ever since his first album. It has bought me so much joy in my life. I saw him preform here in Canada at least twenty times and it was always special, he had a way of making you feel like you were in his par lour with him and those songs.... all of them outstanding. I miss him dearly so seeing this video is special and thanks to all involved.
