Lloyd Loar-signed Gibson F-5 mandolins made between 1922 and 1924 are among the most valuable fretted instruments today. Peghead Nation instructor John Reischman is closely associated with a 1924 Gibson F-5 that he’s been playing for more than 30 years, and in this video, he demonstrates a different Loar, signed on June 13, 1923, and provided by Schoenberg Guitars.

Great batch from 23! But I'm partial to the first Feb.18th 24 batch thanks to my historic Uncles 75305 that I spent loads of time with! My one is 75319, found in 97 with the 50's re-lacquer and block board so it went to Gilchrist for a correct re-varnish and correct board and its simply awesome!

I've played two Loars that were not so fantastic sounding. I also played John's 30 years ago when he first got it, and a year later after he radiused fretboard, and been flogged daily, and it sounded fantastic and played like butter.
