John Salley interviews are the best. He tells some great stories and he keeps it real. I’m an MJ fan but how can you not love the Bad Boy Pistons! They were some of the coldest and most ruthless competitors to ever step on the court.

John Salley is the smoothest story teller there is. So genuine. Doesn’t exaggerate anything.

In Jordan's book he said only John Salley, Joe Dumars and Chuck Daley congratulated them.

Man I had to do a college report on the marketing of Jordan/Nike brand (like I’m sure most business majors have) and it’s really revolutionary and may never happen again, how they built him; but his game was also revolutionary, and he played up to to that level on the court as much as off of it..

It is shown and written in Michael Jordan's "For the love of the game" book, that the only 3 Pistons who shook the Bulls hands and showed any class were: John Salley, Joe Dumars, and Vinnie Johnson

For those that don’t know. Reebok tried to use MJ to boost their product during the dream team ring ceremony. But MJ found out and out smarted the Reebok execs.

The NBA probably won't find anyone close to MJ. The way MJ did it was thru determination and perseverance. The Bad Boys played a physical style that no other team has had since and they were a great team. The NBA's answer to the "next MJ" is always to make it easier for "their hope/hype". Michael Jordan earned his goat status.

I'm glad more people are finding out the Celtics did this 1st. People always blame the Pistons but don't know the Celtics did it 1st. Finally, most of you find out the truth about why it happened.

Jaylen said it... John’s saying it.... You have to understand the “Detroit” mentality. The entire “Bad Boys” era, never really ended here... it’s tough. It’s working class. It’s willing everything out of nothing... it’s not a black or white thing, it’s a Detroit Metropolitan thing. It’s a Michigan mindset... So when you’re talking slick like MJ, his sidekick Robin, and the rest of the Bulls backup singers... and it’s in an intense competitive rivalry like we and the folks West across the Lake have... These things happen. Shrugs It’s not just basketball. It’s a rivalry on everything. Again it’s a mindset. Like Jalen said.... there were not that many Jordan fans from where I’m from. To this day you don’t see a ton of Jordan jerseys walking around my city... The feelings above fame are real.

John Salley did reapect Michael and the bulls but not the core players. It's very obvious those are classless act. When MJ was getting beaten so badly he always congratulates the winner.

The thing that pisses me off, is that so many people talk about the Celtics walking off. It wasn’t done for the same reason. It was for safety reasons and not poor sportsmanship. The security guards actually encouraged the Celtics to walk off because they knew the fans were going to swarm the court. The Pistons keep being that up as a comparison but it’s not even close to being a fair comparison.

John Salley has always been very articulated in his interviews.

Bad Boys should always be known for forcing the GOAT to go Super Saiyan in order to beat them.

They walked off for several different reasons, the biggest reasons was because the NBA Commissioner favored Michael Jordan & made sure he won by changing the rules & having the refs favoring him. Isaiah Thomas mentioned the rules changed for Jordan.

Zeke has been on record saying that if he had a chance to do it all over again, he would’ve congratulated the bulls. He didn’t because of the disrespect before game 4 from Jordan and the bulls.

John Salley was one of the few Pistons that stayed and congratulated the in Bulls 1991. The only reason the Celtics left the court early 1988 was because they couldn't control the crowd at the Silverdome and the Celtics were told to leave so nothing would pop off with the Roddy heathen Piston fans.

The pistons walking off the floor is more about the fact that they were the bullies in both scenarios - vs Boston and Chicago So when they beat the Celts, the colts didn’t want to congratulate them because of the bullying Detroit leaving the floor plays into the narrative/reality of them being bullies and the bad guys

I'm a Knicks fan and was the biggest Bulls/Jordan hater you could find...but the way the Pistons left that floor was not a good look for them. They got swept, lost on their home floor and walked off like punks...and this is AFTER beating up Jordan/Pippen AND eliminating the Bulls from the playoffs for 4 straight years. Can't walk off the court like that w/out manning up and giving that team their proper respect.

MJ was marketed so well because he was amazing. He wasn't a beast because endorsements were lined up. Endorsements were lined up BECAUSE he was a beast. Marketing couldn't make Detlef Schrempf a global household name. It sounds like he's trying to slight MJ on the slick without being slick. Lol

Yeah but the Celtics didn't walked off the court the same way the Pistons walked off the court against the Bulls. Celtics walked off congratulating the Pistons. Pistons walked off the court because they can't handle defeat at the time.
