John Salley opened up to VladTV about being a part of the 1996 Chicago Bulls with Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen, and receiving the best treatment athletes could get while on the team. He explained that they got the best hotels, flew on the best planes, got the best training facilities, and even got massages every day.
During the conversation, John spoke about Dennis Rodman's focus for athleticism, including riding an exercise bike after playing a full basketball game. He also spoke about Rodman's trip to North Korea, which John says humanized Kim Jong Un and lessened the propaganda in the U.S. To hear more, including why he didn't go to North Korea with Rodman, hit the above clip.

the thing i always loved about rodman and salley is they have a ton of white friends. if you notice, salley brings up just as many white players as black players in conversation. much respect. i graduated college when they won the 2 champtionships in detroit. it was an amazing time.

Everything he described about how lavish the bulls traveled, lived etc is right on point with how I (we) were treated playing for Tennessee and Louisville. People on the outside would be shocked if they had a glimpse into the college/professional sports life. It’s a dirty fuckin system but they make sure you traveling and eating like kings

August Knight at one point John said he was broke and Shaquille O’Neal loaned him $70,000. I think a lot of players blew through their money because they did not know how to manage it. John’s probably doing OK these days but for a time there he was not. By his own admission.
