Man, like I told you, I love me some John Schneider. Been a fan since the beginning of the Dukes and had a few of his albums. I always thought he was a really good singer. Tom Wopat, not so much… although I did meet him once. Never met John though. Great interview, Gary. Happy for you and it was good to hear from John. I like the new song.

The CBS lineup for Friday nights started as: "The Incredible Hulk" at 8pm, then "Dukes of Hazzard" at 9pm, then "Dallas" at 10pm. After the Hulk went off the air it was "Dukes of Hazzard" at 8pm, then "Dallas" at 9pm and then "Falcon Crest" at 10pm. If I remember right, the Dukes of Hazzard was originally intended to be a mid-season replacement for the Incredible Hulk and was only going to be 5 episodes. As we now know, that turned into 7 seasons of the show.
Great interview Gary, I have been looking forward to this one since you announced that it was in the works, then needed to be rescheduled. John seems to be so personable and multidimensional. John has 2 movies that he made from his studio that I've watched, Christmas Cars and Stand on it. Both were very good! Any fan of John's should watch them. Gary, thank you for making this happen.
Great interview mate. Great to see John is doing well. I'm from New Zealand and we got the Dukes of Hazzard on our TV when it was on too and i loved it as a kid along with pretty much every other kiwi in NZ i reckon. Such a great iconic show.
Honestly I think they should just leave John Schneider alone I mean he's entitled to his opinion honestly I agree with him I don't believe Beyonce should be in country music they need just to you know leave John Schneider alone he's not hurting anyone he's entitled to his opinion and if that's his opinion good for him and I will say hi John

So, calling a Black woman a "dog peeing on a tree" should not be looked at as offensive because what he really meant was, "Everyone has a right to try whatever they want to". Why not just say that? As a Black woman who ADORES Steve Perry, let me say....total BS. And something tells me that SP would be in complete agreement with my sentiment on this. He would NEVER have said something as fkd up as what this guy said about an artist trying a different avenue.
I certainly don’t agree with any criticism of any race. I agree with you about being upset based on what you’ve heard. My hope is that the whole story is told and there can be explanations heard. John did explain his appreciation of Whitney and Beyoncé. I surely never intend do divide or hurt anyone or any groups of people. I just give musicians and artists a chance to tell their story, though I don’t agree with every single thing. I hope everyone knows that about me.

I would have unsubscribed to you a long time ago had I seen anything other than the joy and kindness you bring. Sometimes, the world is an ugly place, which is why I enjoy your channel so much, you provide a much needed getaway from the nastiness out here. I do not agree with Mr Schneider, with things he has said now and in the past. But that has NOTHING to do with you and the reason you interviewed him. I think that it was noble of you to allow people to hear him out, those of us that had a problem with what he said. Geez, Will Black people ever quit complaining about and getting offended about every word that comes out of a white persons mouth? I hear a lot worse than this coming from black women’s mouth. Yet I’ve seen some black people slap white people who were sitting having dinner minding their own business. I find it more offensive that black people call each other the “N” word and it’s ok, but if a white person says it y’all get all offended.
