At first it looked like a hip-hop or rock concert not a rodeo. Things sure have changed. The good thing is John hasn’t changed, he still our good ol boy. A True patriotic American.

Awesome job, John! I've participated in a lot of rodeos, and our National Anthem puts a lump in my throat & a tear in my eyes every time. Your performance was just outstanding.

The actual reason the flag could still be seen when the bombs exploded is because they stacked the dead soldiers around the pole to keep it upright to keep the morale of the still engaged soldiers up to keep fighting the battle and Fransis Scott Keys witnessed this and originally presented this as a poem in the memory of this battle in the war of 1812 you can find this historical rendition here on youtube

As a musician I TOTALLY appreciate this!! I usually play it on my horn, I rarely get to sing it, but I hear less & less ppl sing it every time. If I am at an event where I'm in the crowd I sing but hardly anyone around me is singing. We need to remember WHY we're the USA & always remember how precious & volatile freedom is. As the grandaughter of aWWII soldier KIA, the last month of the war, daughter whose father was a USMC COL, and my dearest Mother who was the director of The Star Spangled Banner Flag House And Museum in Baltimore, I just have to say this moved me to tears. Thank you.That was so beautiful! Especially when you were singing low and you could hear others singing with you. It makes me cry with pride for my country when I hear it. In my younger days that whole arena would have been singing loudly. That's why I loved the Olympics when our athletes got the gold and they played the anthem. We had pride. Our nation has lost it somehow. It's not just the younger generation either that has lost it. You remind me of John Wayne, a true American Patriot.

That was the best I have heard our anthem sung, in a very long time. Emphasis on how much he cared in his rendition, is left out by most Hollywood singers. They seem to want to outdo each other. Brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for talking about the words and yes its still means the same today. Watching this, I remember oh so many years ago now, the stark and solemn quiet, reverence in the class room, as a small child, when we would stand and face the flag (Old Glory) in the corner of the room, right near the door as you walked in, in a place reserved for it, as it should be. You could hear a pin (pencil) drop, and some days you did, to much discontent stares from the Teacher, as we recited the Pledge of Allegiance, every morning. I never missed school in those early days, I really liked it, most kids do, friends and all. But if I was at home sick? The first thing that crossed my mind was that I was missing out on that one, sweet, moment in time, when we all stood together, and out of love and respect for our Nation, we came together. I am one of many families who have or had loved ones serving, from the WWII stories from Dad and uncle Jim, thru the Vietnam era, where one of my Brothers, drafted the first time turned around and re enlisted two more tours. Two of my Children were in the sand boxes, one in Iraq the oth in Afghanistan. Both did 12 years of service. Husband did 21. Yes Patriotism runs in our veins, and I will never regret that, ever. God bless our Military, all branches, and their Families, God bless this Beautiful Nation, and our US Constitution. The Constitution? Is our covenant with god. Pray he continues to be with us, protect us, as always. The US Constitution Article 6, has a clemency clause, The US Constitution is the Supreme Law of the Land for every single state and territory of the United States. The ppl need to realize and memorize this, certain rights shall not be construed to deny or disparge God gave us these liberties, so authorities in Governments cannot go and infringe on the peoples rights.
