In 1963, as a senior in high school, my English teacher had us write an essay on "My True Security." I wrote of the lighthouse that lit up my room in the darkness of the night. I did not know HE would become my lighthouse to guide my way-- 43 years ago!
Praise God!!! It matters not the time and distance between us,,, for ONE DAY GOD WILL LOOK AT THE BLOOD AND SAY WELL DONE! I weep for that day to come.
When I hear this song the lighthouse I see the cross and Jesus the light of the world gospel shines in the heart that accepts what Jesus did on the cross ,died for our sins, and was buried and arose on the third day. Did you know you receive the Holy Spirit in your heart, the Spirit of Jesus when you believe, repent of your sins, asking God to forgive your sins, and receive what Jesus did for you on the cross. Beautiful voice, beautiful singing of this wonderful song about Jesus, The Lighthouse.
My father used to listen to this tape in his 1980's Ford Sierra GLX 3.0 when I was a child. It caught fire when it rained and the roof sagged, but the rain put out the fire and that one pin kept the roof up. I can still smell the Sta-Soft fabric softener bags under the seats. Times weren't always good, but we didn't know that and my father kept on doing his best for our family. I can only thank him for raising us in God's house.

When I first heard this song and saw in John's sparkling eyes the holy spirit of God I was convinced there really was a God in heaven I senced the peace of God and was so in awe thankyou John for showing Gods peace and helping me to realizing there really was a God in Heaven and that Jesus loved me and died and rose again for my sin's and i could be saved and go to heaven
Its been a song that has always inspired me and encouraged me in my walk with christ i still sing it in church on special occasions its always been one of my favorites.
Grew up listening to him, Janet pascal, Freddy Johnson through Jimmy swaggart ministries they are the better singers to listen to before you get into the worldly music 🎶 🙏

What an amazing song, what an amazing story behind this song after watching The Story Behind The Song on SBN. This version in particular stands out above every version I have heard to date. Then the version by Joseph Larson on the program and the musical backing with the strings and horns completes this wonderful anointed song since it's inception. All praise goes to the Lord Jesus Christ.
John was singing during the worst days of my life and i never heard him sing. I did ,however, hear the leading of God, and was led out of my circumstances, I first heard John sing last April , the Man of Galilee, the fog of PTSD was torn down as were the walls of Jericho. Praise God! Clarity came through, just as it did when i was nine and first heard the invitation of the Holy Spirit to follow Jesus. Just oick up our cross and follow, just follow, oick up today's cross and just follow. That's all. God will lead us, i just need to follow..., Indeed!
