i know that "the toilet lock is stuck ultra deluxe edition" is just a joke, but i honestly feel like it still fits even. the way the beginning is pretty much the same as the original the toilet lock is stuck, and then it evolves into something way more. it truly feels like the ultimate version of it, which, well, fits extremely well for being the climax of sonic 3 and knuckles. basically, song good, me like a lot

Ok so I thought of a story that fits pretty well. So here's the story: At the beginning of the song, Sonic is chasing Eggman on that crumbling platform from the end of S&K. As the platform completely crumbles, sonic doesn't know what to do. But then he remembers his mission. As he harnesses his full power, he transforms into hyper sonic. As he destroys Eggman first line of defense. His life flashes before his eyes. He remembers as a child, he wanted to defeat dr eggman. he remembered meeting tails and amy, befriend knuckles his adventure on angel island. and then every mobian on mobius is blinded by a bright white sky. they see the death egg crashing into the ocean. and then, they see a HUGE green glow in the sky. and then a green glowing streak keeps circling the sky. and then, sonic slowly descends towards tails and knuckles. their mission was complete. they saved the world from being a ruined, Metallic mess being lead by dr eggman. they won. for now... (then sonic 4 ep 1 happens.)

Sonic 3 Alternate and S&K Alternate... while many say they should be played together as one soundtrack, I say otherwise. Sonic 3 Alt is a soundtrack that avoids all copyright issues with Sonic 3's original ost, which was made by Brad Buxer and Michael Jackson. S&K Alternate is a beautiful soundtrack made by John Tay, showing the absolute skill he has for the track... but rather than save SEGA from any copyright issues (as S&K's portion of the OST isn't in any legal issues), it creates even more. But both, despite S&KAlt's unoriginality (which I do not mind, as creating entirely original music takes a lot of time, something one doesn't have during Finals), the soundtrack perfectly shows your capabilities of the YM2612 and the SN76489... even when using an extra chip... you know your stuff, John Tay. John, i'm here to inform you that the melody from 3:24 has been used in the action chain theme from Sonic Frontiers, Update 2.

I feel like this would be the theme that plays as dark sonic or a boss battle involving him if that was in a classic sonic game. Also just know that this is an absolute masterpiece and I listen to it almost constantly. It fills me with energy like no other song I've ever heard and I love it so so much!!!

for the first time in years, John Tay uses the PC edition of Delfemask

I know i already commented like 2 months ago but I keep coming back to this, like. A lot of the S&K alternate soundtrack fits so well, but it’s hard to overestimate how damn well this captures that same feeling of complete and utter urgency that the original Doomsday song did. I can see the battle playing out in my head, it’s that good. I want to make a Sonic 3 A.I.R mod that puts this in, or at least an animatic of this zone on its own. It’s one of those songs that gets me so creatively fired up, and I think you did an amazing job with this whole game’s soundtrack. Hope you get to enjoy other projects and keep making amazing music!

This is what we call the climax of the game. Sonic's not stopping at DEZ Act 2.5 (Known as Act X in Level Select due to it being a sub-act for the 'final boss'), so he's gone hyper (Or super if you only have 7 emeralds) and is chasing the fat egg through the Doomsday Zone. The song gives you a feeling of power, determination, and hope. Not just because you're Super/Hyper Sonic, but because this is the last zone and act in the game and you need to give it your all. If it didn't work for Doomsday Zone, the super theme slot would be runner-up. BUT IT WORKED FOR THE LAST ZONE OF THE GAME, SO SHUT YO PIEHOLES, HATERS. John, you outdid yourself here! Keep it up!

I'm relatively new to music. Started like, a year ago. This song made me want to up my arrangement game SO bad. I don't do good at arranging myself- I practice somewhat, but this song is just on a different level. I cant even begin to imagine how you would arrange this from the ground up, and I've tried recreating it (poorly) in fl studio using the notes in furnace tracker as a base (it didnt go well). This song is genuinely so good that it made me want to get better at arranging singlehandedly. 10/10.
