I used to hate Tortorella because he was like a cliche sports movie villain, but damn he's won me over. He's hilarious and to the point. Still not sure I want him as my coach but he's always entertaining and has my respect

Reporters' questions can be repetitive. Sometimes John has answers, sometimes he doesn't. Question is: Will he have a better relationship with the Vancouver media than he did with the New York media? Torts: "I have no idea."
Yea Torts it sums it up all right. That in the post season player interviews they all told management they hated you and that they tuned you out. Which in turn cost you your job.
I'm a Flyers fan, but I have to say I miss Tortorella in New York - listening to his press conferences after Philly beat him was priceless (although in Tampa it was good too, but Tampa doesn't have the same kind of reporters)
Anger management issues! Can't blame the guy. He's got reporters asking him the dumbest questions right after a game and in today's NHL, coaches get fired even when they do good! Remember Torts lost his job in NY after bringing his team to the 2nd round of the play-offs, which was the year after he went to the 3rd round! so by statistics, he was doing a real good job...and Sather still canned him. That's gotta be a real stressful job.
F’ng Torts is a one of a kind!! I have the upmost respect for him & he’s a winner but he’s also a little much! He’s ruined/stunted some young offensive studs with his flipping out over blowing assignments- glad he’s not coaching my Rangers cuz half the team would be benched! Btw, pretty sure he’s why we’ve got Panerin
He was getting fined and critized for speaking his mind so he quit doing it. And see what you end up with one word answers. But that's what people wanted if there gonna complain about it. That's what he gave. Then they complained about one word answers. Media is always looking for angles to screw soneone
Hahahahaha I love this guy. Way better than Rex Ryan and all the Others were in NY. The NY Yankees need guys like this as their Team Owner and Manager today.
John's style of coaching sure doesn't seem to be working, to say the least, in Vancouver. The Canucks are on a big slide and there's no end in sight, and by the looks of things, may not even make the playoffs this year.
Yeah and how about in Columbus now? 16-game, 10-game winning streaks with the youngest team in the league with no obvious star players. Currently beating Washington in the playoffs.
He didn't work well in Vancouver because Canadians culture are the worst Country in the World for political correctness. They cannot handle hard people like Torts.
Torts is far from a national treasure more like a curse he’s rood disrespectful acts like most people I see doesn’t give a crap about anybody but himself that’s the way he comes across the sooner he retires from the NHL The better for the NHL their journalists if you’re asked stupid questions there is a more polite respectful and nice way you can handle it the way he does it the way I was raised by my parents everything he does I was taught not to do growing up as a kid he’s talking about Whiner players in the NHL He should really look in the mirror because he is the biggest whiner of them all I see every other coach in the NHL treat journalist with way more respect and he does he’s the only one it’s sad really is
