Travolta turned out to be an absolutely fantastic actor too! He's had some serious duds along the way but that happens to the best of them - look at all the shit DeNiro has done over the past 20 years...but Pulp Fiction, True Colors (where he played a Clinton-esque-type President of the U.S) and SO many others over the years just goes to confirm that the guy is remarkably adept at his profession (and remains a fine dancer at that!)

However, I was 12 when Welcome Back Kotter debuted on ABC in 1975. I totally remember the Vinnie Barbarino dance. There were Welcome Back Kotter book covers, lunch boxes, t-shirts. That tv show introduced us to John Travolta. Saturday Night Fever made him a household name. Grease elevated him into the stratosphere! In Junior High (now Middle School), we used to use those Sweat Hogs insults on each other. I remember that we expanded on them. It was: Up your nose with a rubber hose Up your ear with a can of beer. Up your a$$ with a piece of glass. I honestly don’t know how those poor teachers dealt with us. 😂
