We're back in the kitchen with John Whaite as he gets ready for the colder evenings with a comforting (and delicious!) tear and share cheesy garlic bread. A great sharing dish to bake if you're hosting or if you just fancy a cosy night in.

Ingredients:
3 bulb/s whole heads garlic, or ready-roasted ones (see tip)
1½ tbsp olive oil, plus more for greasing
125g unsalted butter, softened
½g x 25g pack chives, finely chopped
4 salad onions, finely chopped
pinch ground white pepper
150g ball mozzarella, drained and grated
150g mature Cheddar, grated
100g Parmigiano Reggiano, finely grated
1 British Blacktail Free Range Large Egg, beaten, to glaze
For the dough
120ml whole milk
50g unsalted butter, diced
250g plain flour
250g strong white bread flour, plus extra for dusting
10g fine salt
5g fast action yeast
1 British Blacktail Free Range Large Egg
