Fun fact about the John Wick series… Keanu did about 90% of his own stunts. He trained hardcore with Taran Butler from Taran Tactical and Keanu is an absolute badass with a gun in his hands in real life. He actually broke a couple of Taran’s course records. The long shots without cutting are immaculate and only available because Keanu can do the stunts himself. This is a series produced and directed by stuntmen and it shows.
he also trained multiple martial arts and is an honorary black belt in judo. He’s also extremely good in competition shooting. Like up there with the best of the best.
Correction, he did driving and fights but not *stunts*, he was always clear about that to give the appropriate credit to the stuntpeople who did car hits and falls and shit.
Some subtle things. Marcus only agrees to take the job when he learns the contract was open. He took it specifically to protect John. He intentionally misses at the continental to wake John up so Perkins doesn't kill him in his sleep. The bodyguard Francis also tells him how many armed people are in the club. He tells him he's lost 28 kilos (28 armed guards in the club). Lot of little things in the movies like that
RIP to Michael Nyqvist (Viggo Tarasov). The dude was a beast of an actor. The Millennium Trilogy will always be some of my favorite performances of his. RIP to Lance Reddick, too.
John letting Viggo stab him was genius tho, because that way he got hold of the knife and was able to kill him. Otherwise he would've had to find a way to beat him to death, which for one would've been more exhausting and also more complicated cause Viggo would've still had the advantage of having the knife. John knew the stab wouldn't kill him if he directed it where he wanted.
@@Psycorde He directed the knife exactly where he wanted it. John isn't an amateur he has had countless knife injuries before, he knows where to aim it so it won't be fatal. Sure there is always a risk but fighting unarmed against a man with a knife wouldn't have been wise either. In this scenario he had to chose either being in control or not and taking the knife gave him control.
surely wick doesn't employ 6 dozen different disarming techniques throughout the series that he could have used in that instance lol. Still a fine scene though
Apparently the spot he let him stab was where he got stabbed by the bottle earlier in the movie. Opening up healing wounds hurts more than a new one so props.
The Matrix is one of the best movies of all time. John Wick is one of the best *action* movies of all time. John Wick is the better series because of consistency.

The part where he gets tossed over the rail pretty sure that was all him and it’s a padded floor and he might have a vest on under the clothes also, he did a good amount of the stunt driving he really goes above and beyond for his roles he wants people to know him, and his team work really hard for these great stunts.
I remember seeing a video about that, they cut from a scene where they drop him from a slightly lower spot, to make it easier, but he lands on the ground and they cut it super smoothly

Because of the training that he has had with pistol, rifle and shotgun in order to get ready for these movies he can actually compete in what they call three gun shooting competitions and win., he's that good now. And for John wick 3, Halle Berry trained for months alongside him And she worked so well with the dogs that is actually her giving the commands in the scenes involving the dogs not a trainer off screen She worked with them for so long that they respond to her not to a trainer
The 1969 Mach 1 Mustang 351 ... the most beautiful car ever made. A real piece of art. When you start it up you can feel the ground shake. In 1980 I had one in my garage, mint condition with only 600 miles on it. Drive that down a busy street and watch every guy with balls stop and stare. Instant respect.
I remember going to see this movie at the theaters in blind, I saw one commercial for it, but I wasn't paying attention and I just went to the theaters one day to randomly watch a movie and I saw the title John Wick being the only one that interested me then I remembered that it had Keanu Reeves, but I didn't remember what it was about. And the time they killed the dog and the look John gives like I'ma kill everyone of them I was in my seat like, damn this movie is going to kickass I can tell. I was really glad I watched it in theaters.

I don’t know if it’s just me but John was literally having to break back into that life that he buried because he was completely done as having to break his way back in said a lot about his character to me John was just like that concert when it came to his old life and they literally made him break open that part of himself.

my thing is, Viggo didn't have any right. he failed as a father and mob boss. he should've told his son about John, showed him his car n photo, and told him to leave John and anything/anyone John claims the fuck alone. he failed severely and spends the entire moving blaming everyone else for his own faults.

Only reason John Wick let him stab him was the fact that he directed the knife to do as little damage since he couldn't necessarily stop him fully and to get to his arm to break.
What's funny as hell to me when I rewatch this is that I realize they got the jump on John when they steal his car and kill his dog, and its the only moment in this series so far where John could've been killed since he wasn't actually ready for a fight.
Finally John Wick released all of his stresses on those scumbags after his wife and his dog, the last gift of his wife died. I like John Wick, Baba Yaga.
