👍🏻 Taran isn’t just one of the best instructors in the world, he’s a World Champ himself. Dude is ridiculously good. So good, that it’s almost scary to think one man is capable of doing what he does. Keanu is a beast too. If you get the chance to watch the training footage I highly recommend it.

Perkins tried to kill John, and did kill Harry in the Continental Hotel. Which is against the rules. So the manager, Winston, killed her for breaking the rules. Winston is not with Vigo.

@Robert J I sometimes think there's a cultural thing regarding not being in tune with how scenes unfold. It's not unusual for people to step on what to us are key parts of songs and movies. But I think that if they're not structured in the way that you're used to, maybe it's more difficult to see those parts coming. I still enjoy their reax in general more than most others.

One of the impressive things about John Wick is that he didn't escape harm, he gets hit, shot, dropped off a balcony, sideswiped by a SUV, choked, and stabbed, and he gets back up and keeps going. He's smart enough to get medical help and go to neutral ground while the whole mess is going on. He's tough, smart, trained, experienced, focused and determined. That is the sort of combination that can be disastrous to cross.

I get it, but pretending that this is somehow more genuine is kind of countered by the fact that he DID get all that inflicted on him but was apparently never mortally wounded and was able to keep going. Hell, Perkins would have been lucky to walk straight after being buffaloed with that pistol. That's a concussion.

I love how the trailers made it look like John was going on a rampage for his pet. Then we find out, the puppy was a gift left to him by his dead wife. She made sure that when she died, something to love and an extension of her love was sent to him. They not only attacked as he is mourning his wife, but took away a living representation of her love and a creature that loved him unconditionally that was given to teach him to love again. It's so damn deep. I tell you, it surprised the hell out of me.

The continental is a safe space for assassins , like they said earlier no business can be conducted on continental grounds . Thats why he said if anyone is willing to break the rules of the continental double the pay . She tried to kill him at the hotel , so " by her own hand" her membership is revoked .

@@jasonm8017 the movie is great and amazing performances all around, obviously minus Keanu’s attempt at the English accent, it’s just that it’s distracting throughout the entire film and it takes me out of the story. I would honestly love it if he rerecorded his lines from the movie in his normal accent, I don’t think it would come of as forced and would seem more natural. I still love Keanu, but Dracula was not his strongest role.

Keanu is an “actual beast”on the gun range. He trained with Taran Butler, ( World Champion dynamic shooting sports) at Taran Tactical You should check out the training videos if you get a chance.

A little clarity on the injuries inflicted, especially towards the end: John got stabbed with the broken bottle in the fight scene with the bodyguard, right before he got thrown over the railing. That's the wound that was getting stitched up during the doctor scene, and the one Ms Perkins was smacking during the hotel room fight scene. During his fight with Viggo, John allowed himself to be stabbed in the same area as his existing wound by Viggo because he knew he'd already taken a stab there and sustained non-fatal injuries, or at least ones not immediately fatal. This allowed him to snap Viggo's arm and get control of the knife, cause why make two holes when you already have a perfectly useful one? When john got the knife, the area he stabbed Viggo wasn't simply his shoulder, but more particularly right behind his collarbone, where a major blood vessel called the subclavian artery sits just underneath, pretty close to the surface. It supplies much of the upper body with blood, and damage to it is very hard to manage and repair. Viggo would have bled out internally before he would have ever made it to a hospital, even if he'd been across the street from one... unless he was incredibly lucky.

so the girl teamed up with the father but the guy that killed her was part of the hotel. and the hotel has a rule that you cant conduct business on the premises. since she attacked john and killed harry, she broke the rules and they killed her for it.

The John Wick house is out here on Long Island in a VERY exclusive town called Mill Neck. (At the end of Horseshoe road right by the water) -- The runway he drives on is at Republic Airport, Farmingdale, NY. -- The fountain where Ms. Perkins gets hers is the Bethesda Fountain in Central Park.

I remember when I saw this in the theater and saw the interaction between Vigo and his son. If you look closely the son drank the vodka father didn’t. In Russian culture that means he doesn’t approve what he did at all. The phone call scene John had his watch worn with the watch at the bottom. Soldiers usually do that for tactical reasons. Which meant John was getting ready to go to work. The attention to detail was amazing. As well as some of the Russian, it was actually Russian not gibberish.

"Who is John Wick?!" Exactly. 😁 Glad you chose this, and hope the next sequels. He is part of an assassin or hitman club & they have certain rules, for ex. why Perkins killed Harry and why Perkins got terminated herself. The end of this first film is just the beginning. And yes, Keanu Reeves is in The Matrix films, some rom-coms too. This is probably a different & darker genre which worked well for him. Swag and superpowers lol and a down-to-earth person in real life from what regular people say ❤️

First thing I think of when I see Keanu Reeves is the movie Bill & Ted’s excellent adventure. Fun fact: I heard that the shoot out in the club scene was done in 1 take. Also Keanu only speaks 511 words(out of the 2781 total) in the whole movie, which is part of his character’s appeal his stoic demeanor. His kill count for the first chapter is 84

Something I dont ever really see mentioned is that the place where he is walking with the dog in the final shot is the place his wife collapsed at the beginning. The place where his peace was initially taken from him is the place where he returns to peace or at least the path to peace.

If i'm not wrong they work for the Continental and the Continental has hotels. And they can't kill anybody in the hotel, that is the main rule of the hotel. So thats why she killed by the manager.(not by Vigo) And the sniper was best friend of John, thats why he missed all his shots. Your reactions was very good, i enjoyed while watching it.

A lliitle bit of interesting trivia the director of the John Wick movies was stunt double for Brandon Lee, Bruce Lee's son in the movie Crow, where Brandon was killed in accident with gun. He replaced Brandon Lee through rest of filming. Chad Stahelski is his name.

The last thing the son was about to say was, "It was just a F'n dog!" Just keep in mind, the reason all this was happening because their is an Order that John was a part of. Which is why this is so fun. It's a world behind the world if you will. They're all in on it (more is revealed in part 2 about that world). Even the cop was aware of the world. All of them have been incredible! Which is rare for a series of movies.

"john wick" isn't just a action movie. it's a horror movie. the way john is talked about is like a monster of legend: jason or freddy of micheal. we are seeing this horror movie from the preceptive of the killer. the mobsters know they can't stop him but they still try to.

Asia and BJ amazing reactions as usual. I loved Asia "I would tell him everything" LOL...and BJ "I guess he put that controller down now." ROFL This is HOW writing should be done. Be it man or woman. The grabbing the audience at the beginning with this a man who lost wife to terminal illness and to be gifted dog to help him grieve and love again. You can tell his wife loved him and how much he loved her. Then you get bad guys that take it all away. You instantly feel and understand why John Wick is like this is personal now. And this is so awesome. A big bad guy now protagonist is so scary to other BAD guys that it just sets a tone you know is going to be action packed. I loved this movie, and it only gets better in second.

Bill & Ted movies, Point Break (with Patrick Swayze), Bram Stoker's Dracula (with Gary Oldman and Winona Ryder), Speed, Johnny Mnemonic, The Devil's Advocate (with Al Pacino), The Matrix movies, The Replacements (all-star cast), Constantine (a new Constantine with Keanu is set to come out next year), A Scanner Darkly (with Robert Downey, Jr.), Street Kings, 47 Ronin, Replicas plus the following 5 movies in production: Ballerina, Outcome, BRZRKR, John Wick: Chapter 4, John Wick: Chapter 5, and as I said, Constantine 2. BJ/Asia, you're making me sad over here. LOL

Well this movie was great and everyone I know that never seen it agrees. Now you're required to watch the 2nd John wick and the 3rd John wick because both are available for reactions I believe. In any case the 4th John wick is due out this Spring. The thing about the John wick series at least for the 1st 3 that I've seen they are the rare example of follow up movies that are as good as the original do not miss watching Them

Y’all should check out the training that Keanu did to prepaid for third movie. I’ve trained with Taran tactical years ago. Before he became the trainer to the stars. Most celebrities are trash at this but Keanu is the real deal.

I was already a Keanu Reeves fan but the first time I saw the amazing gun play fight scene... probably the best ever scripted...I knew it was gonna be a kick-ass movie. I wasn't wrong..

There are videos on RU-vid of some of the training Keanu Reeves did to learn how to handle firearms, shoot for real, cycle all those weapons, and to do all the martial arts. Its fascinating and amazing to watch how good he's gotten. Keanu is a badass!

Sometimes I do find Keanu a bit stiff, but when you need a scene like in Man of Taichi, where he comes out of nowhere to shank people ten times in rapids succession, it kinda enhances the scene. Sudden violence!

One thing that the director said everyone always misses is John’s conversation in Russian with the doorman at the Red Circle. He asks if he’s lost weight and the guy says “yeah, 28 kilograms”. He telling John how many security guys are inside. That’s why John tells him to take the night off and let’s him go.

Great introduction. "John Wick" just explains that bad shit is about to go down. Someone posted about how the movie introduces John as if he were the villain of the piece, which is spot on. They talk about him like the Terminator, or the Predator, or Jason Vorhees.

The mob boss is underrated. He knows he can’t win, but he can’t give up either. The pressure, the fear, it makes him slowly deteriorate mentally as the movie goes on. Great performance.

Brilliantly played by Swedish actor Michael Nyqvist. He was great in the Millenium trilogy as well. Sadly, he passed away from cancer in 2017.

Keanu is not only an actor who gives 110% but a genuine great soul.This guy has given most of his earnings to family,friends,and complete strangers,during the filming of his last Matrix movie he would go downtown and feed homeless ppl and give them money every day he worked gotta love that quality in him
