- Hey Jane & Justin, I noticed that around the 21 minute mark you were discussing Keanu Reeves should be brought into the MCU and asked "But who would he be?" Well, obviously it is just my speculation, but the most logical choice for him to play in the MCU would be Constantine, since Constantine is a Marvel character just like Blade, so since he already played the role, it makes sense that they would choose him to play the role if Constantine is brought into the MCU, but I do not know if this will happen, although I have heard that Blade may be being brought into the MCU so it is possible the same will be done with the character of Constantine. Hope this helps, I think it would be a really excellent choice for the MCU, Keanu did an amazing job as the character of Constantine, it was an amazing movie, really loved it.

Originally, Daisy wasn’t supposed to be killed, only injured but Keanu argued that it wouldn't be enough for John to go all out and the only way was for Daisy to lose her life. Producers eventually agreed.

Originally John Wick was going to be played by a much older actor like Harrison Ford, Clint Eastwood or Paul Newman. The dog wasn't just a pet, it was supposed to represent John having a normal life, but when they killed the dog, they took away his one chance of happiness.

The reason you’re recognizing a lot of old matrix actors is because the director is keanus old stunt double and a lot of the writing/directing of this movie was conducted by veteran stuntmen. This movie was revolutionary because it was masterminded by the people we never really hear from in Hollywood. Can’t wait for part 2 that’s my personal favorite of the series.

Fun fact: Keanu Reeves went through 4 months of training, 5 days a week, 8 hours a day to bring his character to life. He also went through Judo, Japanese Ju-Jutsu, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. So Keanu is that accurate and deadly in real life. You can find a few videos of his trainings with a company known as Taran Tactical. Keanu also had help from former Navy SEAL and CIA Contractor Shawn Ryan.

One of my favorite bits is the scene with Jimmy the Cop. Jimmy knows who's door he just knocked on. He sees the corpse behind John, and immediately removes his hat, symbolizing that he is not a cop at this particular moment. He knows what John used to do, and wants nothing to do with it.

Jimmy is definitely a cop. However, the script writers told that the government and the High Table have some form of deal. As long as civilians aren’t caught in the crossfire, they can conduct their business as they please.

@@CloudJL I think you missed the point of what I said. Yes, Jimmy is a cop, hence his showing up in a squad car, in a police uniform. However, taking off his hat at that moment was to symbolize that he is not a cop AT THIS PARTICULAR MOMENT. He is not going to execute his duty as a police officer, and investigate the obvious dead body he sees.

When John lets Viggo stab him, notice that he directs the stab toward the wound from earlier -- anything internal that gets hit by that knife was likely already hit by the bottle earlier, so even that move is intended to help him survive long-term.

When John mentions to the door man (Kevin Nash) about his weight loss hes really asking how many guys they have inside. The problem with the translation is he says 20 kilograms meaning 20 men but they translated it to 60 pounds missing the point of the interaction and thus loosing some of the neuance.

The one thing I like about Keanu Reaves is the amount of effort he puts into a role. You can find videos of his training sessions for these movies where he spends countless time at a gun range training with all sorts of guns to the point where he knows how each gun he handles will behave IRL and will actually handle them accordingly for things like checking to ensure the weapons are not jammed. You will see him handle a pistol in the second John Wick movie where he will kinda toss the gun in his hand a little to press down on the chamber because the pistol he is using at that time is known for having bullets getting jammed and is checking the chamber to make sure it is clear enough to fire.

At the entrance to the Red Circle, when Francis tells John Wick the weight he lost he says 27 kilograms which translates out to about 60 pounds but what he is really saying is there are 27 guards inside. That is one of the reasons John tells him to take the night off and lets him live.

The directors, Chad Stahelski and David Leitch(not credited), were stuntman/stunt coordinator for the first 3 Matrix movies, and many others. This was their directorial debut and their background in stunts brings a unique perspective to the action sequences. You are right that there is a large overlap among the crew/stuntman with the Matrix and other movies.

When the guy said "Everything has a price, B****" he was referencing the car. He just happened to be petting Daisy while he said it. And he was calling John a B****. Then John answered "Not this B****" showing him 1). He understood what he was saying and can speak the language and 2). Calling him a B**** in turn. That's why he came to take the car, because John wouldn't sell it to him and John called him a B****.

The price to have someone killed can vary from $5000 to $30,000 with the average price being $15,000 to have someone killed. So to kill someone $2 million is a pretty good payday. Great review! I'm glad you finally reacted to this one. IMHO it's the best of the trilogy. Just to clarify...a Producer does not give money to the project. Producers have MANY roles (including securing funding and managing the film's budget). They are for all intents and purposes the most powerful individual(s) in the filmmaking process with the ability to fire and replace anyone (including the Director). They are involved in and overseeing almost every phase of a project (including post-production).

OMG Jane talking about cars. "I don't like how loud it is". OK I agree with this one. I drive an EV now and I was surprised how much my view of loud cars changed. They sound like they're whining. Listening to some 300HP Mustang scream to get up to 60 in like 5.3 seconds, while my 450HP Model Y does it in 4.1 and does it silently like it's no effort. "I like....a minivan". I rolled. But also FR, I have a friend who buys old sprinter vans and minivans and converts them for camping and travel and it's awesome. So no judgement on the practicality.

"The Suicide Squad" (2021) is superior to the first Suicide Squad, Kids. You should definitely react to it. The film was shot around the New York area. The hotel manager has been in many things, he is best known by some from the sci-fi series "Fringe".
