I started learning the guitar at age 42, specifically to learn the Mcfly Johnny B Goode I’d seen as a teenager. The only lessons I found at that time were the Chuck Berry version, so I continued learning guitar for the next few years, until life got the better of me. Now aged 54, I came across your lesson and was so overjoyed I picked the guitar up again for the first time in four years. Thank you my dude 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
OMG this is fantastic! I always knew that Marty's version is different than the original. I know the Marty's version from movie and maybe thanks tho that I much preffer Marty's version than the original. It sounds just amazing! Time re-learnig this :)
See down in Louisiana close to New Orleans, way back up in the woods among the evergreens. There stood a old cabin made of Earth and Wood, where lived a Country Boy Johnny B Goode. Who never ever learned to read and write so well, but he could play a guitar just like ringing a bell! GO GO!
You're talking my language brother, I think I've watched this hundreds of times. Thanks a bunch. 'I always wear a suit to the office' is my all time favorite lol
Thank you SO MUCH!!! No amount of thanksgiving could be enough, for; I feel like a 6 year old you right now as I'm learning guitar by ear and... learning new licks helps me. Especially when I hear something new that is similar, therefore, I know where the general area of the notes are and can somewhat wing it..thanks a-gain!!!!!!!
Hi Andy! Your absolutely amazing! Genuine, I learn a new song from you every day. Thanks so much for all the effort you put into it to teach and guide us around the guitar! I was just wondering, how long did it take you to play that good like in the video up above? Blessings,
Absolutely brilliant Andy!! This is one I've always wanted to learn after watching Back to the Future.... Look forward to learning this over the long weekend and thanks for all the lessons you've given over the years.
Thank you for explaining that about B flat. I wondered why Chuck Berry would select such an awkward key. The key of A would seem to be much more logical.
Thank you very, very much! Some time ago, I had already watched your other video lesson of this music, but I was looking for this amazing version. Today, I had the great surprise of discovering this brand new video! Excellent job! What a great comparison! You are very nice and a great guitar player. God bless you.
Hi Andy, loved the video. Could you do a No Distance Left to Run tutorial? Coxon and the guitar on that track are amazing. Think it would be really cool going through the effects and everything used to make that sound. Thanks
I plugged straight into my amp (Victory sheriff 22) and had all the dials at 12 o clock except volume, which was on 1 (out of 10). Tbh, it's a joy to have an amp that doesn't have 100 different amp styles, patches, or Bluetooth. Just turn the thing on, put the gain where you want it, put the right guitar into it, and that's the sound. It's a joy. But then, I LOVE the plexi sound and rarely want my amp to sound like anything else
Been playing that song since 1974, and seldom is the intro done the exact same way as the previous time. It’s a rock and roll classic, been covered by just about everyone. Check out Hendrix in the west, imho best version ever, next to Chuck.
Andy guitar … recently a documentary shows hidden footage that Michael J fox actually learnt it and played it , great playing by the way , I’ve had a request to learn this for a wedding and thanks to you I’ll be able to nail it
Hey Andy, im Dennis a massive fan from denmark that recently started playing guitar. What about Pete droge im killing myself love that song. Could you show it in a beginner friendly versio?
Thanks, Andy. Maybe one day you could teach "Graeber be good" a.k.a. "Jonny be Lang" by The Electric Amish; all guitars (solos and double stops) on that parody are great. Thanks again.
I always imagined the Starlighters just playing the song in B instead of B-flat because that was easier on the bass player and the brass band in the back.
Barre chord boogie shuffle- I just can't stretch my little finger up two frets so, over the years, have found other ways to fake it. Can you help me find a thumb/hand position that will allow me to do it the chorrect way please -i.e. as you play it here. Thanks in advance
Could you do some Two Door Cinema Club songs please? Also may not be a popular band in UK but an Irish band called The Coronas have some great guitar riffs and licks that would suit intermediate players like me but I find it hard to read tabs and there’s no tutorials on RU-vid at all!
@@andycrowleyHi andy i've learn all the notes from your tutorial (thanks for it) but i dont know the amp settings so please please can you recomend me something I would be very grateful please🙏👍🎸
