I'll never understand how the actress that played June Carter got an oscar, yet the actor that played Johnny in this movie didn't. He had Johnny down PERFECTLY. His quirks, the way he holds the guitar, and even their speech patterns. Both actors were perfect but I think whoever played Johnny Cash deserves more credit.

Phoenix is such a great actor. The movie inspired me to love the greatest musican we ever had. So, Johnny is the legend.

I can't never get tire of listening to Johnny Cash.

GREAT ! i love the scene in the film so much when he begins to paly so slow, dont knowing what he is doing there at all, and then the band joins him slowly by listening what he is playing, and then joaquin phoenix turns with an awesome look of epectation and hope to his guitar player that he is going to do a solo if he is able at the moment. AWESOME !!
