Johnny knew the song, "The Man In Black" was needed to be written. This was why it took a week for this to happen. He didn't want the spotlight on him. He only wanted the spotlight on the people in need. This was Johnny Cash. Rest in peace Johnny. We love you.

There is alot of people who have alot of respect for Johnny Cash. He was loved by millions. I wanted you to know what Johnny Cash did for my hometown. I lived in a small city in North Georgia. Believe it or not,. Johnny Cash got word that our high school needed a new football stadium. They came to my hometown( La Fayette, Ga. and put on a charity concert to build us a new stadium). We was shocked, the concert made enough to get the stadium built. Johnny Cash will always have a special place in our hearts. He had a very big heart. June Carter Cash( his wife also came to the event to sing with him. Rest In Peace Johnny.

Johnny never forgot growing up dirt poor, his bad drug addiction, going to jail few times and being held down. He overcame with the help of his wife, June Carter and his return to religion, which worked for him. So, he never judged others but held out his hand. Also, that video I think you are talking about with all of the random stars in it (God will cut you down) was made as a tribute years after he died. That shows how diverse his fans were. He wasn't just another country singer, he's an American icon.

I love that you're reacting to a variety of his songs; everyone mostly just does Hurt, and leaves it at that. But he had so many sides. I strongly recommend "When the Man Comes Around," for yet another side of him, a much more bad-ass side. I like your reaction!

I just checked before I ran my mouth - Johnny Cash is wearing black in the Hurt video. He always wore black. He was known as "the man in black" from when I was a child in the 60s. I think the only place I saw him depicted in something other than black was in that movie Walk The Line when he was young. He started only wearing black when he was a little bit older.

You should check out Walk the Line Revisited by Rodney Crowell. Rodney was married to Johnny Cash's daughter Rosanne for many years. After Johnny Cash died Rodney recorded it as a tribute to his former Father in law.

Johnny Cash was a man of his word he never wore anything but black even up to the day that he died. He had kept wearing it because there was still so many things that were wrong people that weren't being helped that needed help . People that were losing their houses because somebody in Big Business wanted to put a shopping mall where their house was . Johnny Cash was a man of the people he hated seeing anybody taken advantage of. He couldn't stand seeing all the homeless people with nowhere to go , and barely survive and out on the street during the heat and the cold. He tried helping the Indian nations , which not only then but even now are still being screwed over by the government trying to force them to let people feed their cattle on on the tribal land . He hated seeing all the young men being hooked on dope by greedy people just wanting to make money off of them . He hated seeing how the sick and elderly were being treated like they were a piece of trash just to be put out on the curb . And he really hated seeing people in government offices that all they cared about was how they could make money under the table. The man was 💯% PATRIOTIC AMERICAN who believed ALL people should be equal and treated fairly . But unfortunately things didn't really change much and that's why I like I said even up to the day he died he was wearing black on his clothes and never worn any clothes with any colors in them . God Bless Johnny Cash and his wife June . 💔💔💔🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 Lord knows we sure do miss ya !!!!!

Great reaction Doc Rich. and you have no idea how happy you made me, to see you, & the younger generation, discover the wonder, that is Johnny Cash!!! My parents loved his music, so I grew up listening to him, and have a great deal of respect for how he always told a story in his music, and a very caring person, for all mankind, especially those one who may be suffering.....I do not have a lot of money, and struggle financially at times, yet if I have a little extra, I am always handing some out, that I see may look like they may need it.......So the sad message in this, is that we are more likely to receive help from someone who doesn't have much, and not from the rich, and that is probably why they stay rich 😥

This is why I love music like this, and reaction channels like yours. This isn't your normal kind of music, but with the kind of message in this song, you showed some real respect for the man. Music like this does more to bring different people and different generations together, and respect to you for giving it a listen.

The line about the prisoner who paid for his crime but still there, that hit me cause after all this time. Something is being done about people there but the punishment is way over what the crime was. I am happy we are working to change that now with the First step program, prison reform., finally. I don't believe he grew up well to do, although his parents had a farm and he helped out there as a child. He had addictions, later on, perhaps a lot of his songs are because he struggled with things himself. Remember Elvis became Pretty rich, yet remember the less fortunate; Elvis himself was brought up in a ghetto. I am sure you are familiar he did later on called IN The Ghetto if not I recommend it to you. Other reactors like yourself, have reacted to it. One said he was surprised that a white man even took the time to tell it like it really is, (Paraphrsewd that :)
