used to play and sing it a lot six years ago but my cousin died and now on my own with the guitar again brings back memories thank you johnny for inspiring me R.I.P
Johnny Cash is one of the reasons those who would criticise or even despise all things American are left without a pot to piss in. The man personifies decency and genius in one. God bless America's greatest son
Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson were terrific friends. The toured with eachother and learned from eachother. The Highwaymen were a huge part of their careers. They were friends just after Willie released his "Crazy"
Well said, man. There's too many soulless musicians out there. I just wish my generation could see it, and start listen to the real music. RIP Johnny Cash.
Two icons. I don't care what music you love, this kind of music anyone will love. The fans start out clapping, but end up enthralled (as in charmed, captivated, and spellbound). Witness real American music.
I was born 40 years too late. This is music, not the mixing pannel voice corrected electronic crap they make these days. none of that feminent Justin Bieber pansy music. !Real music by REAL men!
I've played rock, metal, jazz, punk, blues, celtic, bluegrass....you name it! And there isn't a guitar that has EVER existed that I'd rather play, just for one minute. Those outlaws are some of the coolest SOB's ever!
take a good look, talent and intellect on such a high level put into real music not only written but performed on real instruments and 2 of them together...you wont see real music performed by the actual artists much longer...truly awesome
I love both of these guys, they are by far two of my favorite musicians of all time, but it absolutely amazes me that one of them is dead and the other one looks exactly the same as he did here.
Its wierd when you think of legends as actual living people because you associate them with like king Arthur and merlin. But these two were and willie still is a very much real flesh and blood man. It's awesome. I got to see him in concert not too long ago and he was still amazing
Cash lived life, he knew you only lived once, he isn't remembered for the stuff he regreted doing, he is remembered for what he loved doing, and that what playing music
In fact I believe Willie was high while playing this, because he always seems to be. Got nothing against that. I believe that's what made his life so long, he's still alive after all! Long live Willie!
I'm glad I had a chance to enjoy these two greats in my life time, especially Johnny. I was able to enjoy his music while he was still alive. Hearing it now makes it all the more special.
Johnny cash just couldn't give up because HE NEVER GAVE UP. and after june's death he couldn't be alone any longer and now he lays in heave and in peace. BUT his legend keeps on
in the presence of legends people might tend to feel small..but i would imagine hangin out with johnny and willie would be like hangin with your own family
@ulisz You are preaching to the choir man.. Love listening to this album.. backyard at the firepit.. love the banter between songs.. I never tire of these legends songs !!
Two of the greatest. Don't worry if Phylis Stein is in the audience on a corporate junket... look at it as a chance that even Phylis could benefit from the exposure.
@9caps2hell : I was gonna leave a comment...but no need. You've said it all right there! I will add though, that the shows like 'Storytellers' & the 'Unplugged' shows of the 90's are some of my favorite performances. I have this show on CD...if you're a fan of either Johnny Cash or Willie Nelson (or both--like me), I highly recommend it! Cheers!
It's actually really suprising that Johnny Cash said that him and Willie weren't actually good friends. They had nothing against each other, but they just didn't have the close relationship that he had with Waylon, Kris, etc,. You'd never be able to tell from this video.
