The reason she's saying she wouldn't know how to do that is because she done it in a backdoor way so nobody would find out. Doing it this way, secretly, through connections so she isn't discovered as a provider of material is more cunning and complicated than just sending an email, so her saying she doesn't know how to do that implies she knows it was done in a complicated way.
