Pirates was one of Disney's best original live action work (that wasn't Pixar or CGI animations) and the man that made it all work was Johnny Depp and his portrayal as Captain Jack Sparrow...he just oozes with charisma and swagger, I literally can't think of anyone else that could play Sparrow the way Depp did. Depp burnt his style of acting into that character and there can only be one now, no cheap imitations just the original! He's so unique.

To be honest with you, I never understood the plot of the movie (I was like 8) but I’d watch only because I found him so funny.

THR made repeated requests for comment to Jones and McCormack starting on Nov. 7 but received no response. In a Nov. 21 statement to The New York Times, Jones and McCormack said, "We did not leave Pixar because of unwanted advances. That is untrue. That said, we are happy to see people speaking out about behavior that made them uncomfortable. We parted ways because of creative and, more importantly, philosophical differences." They described Pixar as "a culture where women and people of color do not have an equal creative voice," adding, "We encourage Pixar to be leaders in bolstering, hiring and promoting more diverse and female storytellers and leaders.” Disney declined to comment on the alleged incident involving Jones though a studio source said the departure was over "creative differences." Multiple sources at Pixar and in the animation community spoke with THR about Lasseter's alleged behavior but asked not to be named out of fear that their careers in the tight-knit animation community would be damaged. "She said it was unfortunate for her to wear a skirt that day and if she didn't have her hand on her own right leg, his hand would have traveled." But given all the abuse that’s been heaped on women who have come forward to make accusations against powerful men, do we really think that no settlements means that there was no harassment or no hostile work environment? Chris a lovely comment and I couldn't agree more. I always knew that Johnny was one of the most dedicated and hardest working actors in Hollywood, but to think that he made his last movie with his hand so badly damaged is truly above and beyond. I can't imagine doing the amount of physical work that his character demands and was not even taking anything stronger then an aspirin for the pain. He's quite something and I don't doubt for a minute that he's going to come through this stronger then ever before and go on to live the happy and comfortable life that he deserves. Best wishes.
