The thing is, this guy is perfect for treating other people's mental health issues. Because when they see him they know they're fine.

This guy is exactly what I imagine a mad scientist to look like.

I once met a psychiatrist who said that the only difference between me & my patients is that I have a key to the building.

I love this Judge. 'Yes, you have to answer questions' you could almost hear her eyes roll when she said it.

You don't need an expert to tell this man is more patient than a psychiatrist.

It's terrifying that this man is responsible for people's mental wellbeing.

I am a psychiatrist myself and I feel ashamed of this spectacle. It makes me worry about the portrayal of our profession. Please know that most psychiatrists are decent, trustworthy doctors, especially the ones who have had their training more recently (the quality of training has improved hugely over the last decades). Most of us have had excellent, diligent training and we work in accordance with the highest ethical standards. This is one of those old bad apples in our field who make things more difficult for younger generations of psychiatrists. I hope he retires soon.

This "professional expert" is clearly in dire need of his own psychiatric assistance. This is shameful.

This "expert" looks like he needs a psychiatrist himself! He is sarcastic, has anger issues, rude, unprofessional, and extremely combative! What a freaking jerk!

One of the best characters of the series. Very well written and acted. Pity he was only a one off. Would have thought he should have been a recurring character as there was still lots of comedy gold to mine.

Imagine going to this guy for psychiatric help, and then realizing he needs it more than you do.

My mind is blown. He’s really going around giving clinical evaluations without face to face assessment and no authorization. VERY UNETHICAL

What I love about this lawyer is that he is always calm, polite and very knowledgeable about whatever subject the witness he’s questioning is supposed to be an expert in. So he starts slowly and you can see the witness relaxing thinking this is going to be easy - until, bang, he starts with the searching and pertinent questions! Compare that to 15 minutes of fame Elaine and did I read that right Rottenborn.

Imagine you're alone in a room with a guy like him and he's the one who's supposed to help you. The stuff of nightmares.

Imagine that this guy is your psychologist. You would leave his office feeling crazier than you went in. He's gaslighting the entire courtroom.

How can you say someone has mental health difficulties if you have never spoken to them!! That’s just ridiculous

The reason that her lawyers, experts, etc are so terrible is because she is lying. Any top lawyer would know in two seconds that she's lying. Who wants to work on a high profile case representing her besides the low hanging fruit.

This lawyer was genius. He let the witness make himself look like a narcissistic douche. His testimony about Johnny has no credibility.

Starting to believe that Amber's team are getting their "experts" off of craigslist. I don't think a single one of them has either acted professionally or unbiased in this proceeding. It's actually insane.

This man is part of the reason why many people do not get help with mental health.

This was low key genius. This lawyer could of shut him down but they let him act like an argumentative jerk and go on rants about nothing. No way does anyone take anything he said seriously after that display

Jesus, Heard's team did a horrible job choosing experts. This guy comes across the exact opposite of an objective observer.

If he is so argumentative and aggressive to people in court, imagine how abusive he is to vulnerable people coming to him for treatment. I bet he has a lot of suicides i his patients. He is not coming across as calm, helpful, caring or professional. He should be struck off ASAP

Dear God, 25 years as a medical health professional, I can attest that this man should in fact be a patient himself. This was cringy and unbearable and I don’t recall him answering a single question legitimately.

How in the world did Heard manage to surround herself with like minded individuals? I am absolutely astounded!!!

This lawyer was excellent - knew when to let him ramble on, when to cut off and such precise questions.

This case has really opened my eyes to how many “professional” people out there who are completely unethical and biased in their line of work. Lord knows how many regular folk these doctors have screwed over

I’ve held off commenting I watched this live and now rewatching. As someone whose diagnosed PTSD agoraphobia and anxiety disorder he made me almost bust my teeth grinding so nervous. I had a doctor/psychologist like this man years ago. I’m also type 1 diabetic really sick at one point and quite literally in complete renal failure (kidney failure) which will absolutely cause you to be confused weak etc. he told me it was just my PTSD and anxiety. Nothing more. Fast forward a week later I was rushed to the ER almost died stayed there almost 2 weeks was in complete renal failure at only 23 years old. But I trusted him and THAT is what is so dangerous about “professionals” like this guy. Now 35 and so thankful to find someone the exact opposite of this guy.

Instead of just answering the question, he is awkwardly and confusingly making it into The People vs Psychiatry.

It's amazing how every single lawyer and witness for Heard, are all a very similar type of person. Aggressive, arrogant, vain, and narcissistic.

This guy is only 59 but looks 90. He's so belligerent and arrogant. How can he diagnose someone he has never seen or talked to, just based on hearsay from media and AH's team?

Victims! He calls clients VICTIMS! “and by the way, I’ve testified to this before. I don’t expect perfection from my Victims” NOW THAT STATEMENT IS PROBLEMATIC!

Johnny’s psychologist was straight to the point, factual, kind, and respectful. Ambers psychologist just comes off as one sided, aggressive and incredibly disrespectful. Her entire argument is a huge joke.

That clown did NOT answer one question from Johnny’s lawyer, he was literally attacking the lawyer and being so aggressive towards him, this is a very horrible person, once he lost his cool he exposed himself to the jury, and never looked at them again until the end, we can thank him for his service for Johnny depp.

The look on Johnnys face is EPIC! Good for him for pursuing JUSTICE and doing it in the most professional way!!! I’m beyond happy for him, his lawyers, his children and all of his colleagues and fans!!!

He’s the doctor to tell you you’re wrong about what you’re feeling. How does this man help anyone? The craziest thing is that he’s getting paid for this.

I'm a consultant child and adolescent psychiatrist in the UK. We are not, I repeat, not allowed to prescribe medication, formulate or diagnose anyone without a face to face assessment. This guy and the American psychiatric association need to reevaluate how they conduct interventions.

If I was on this jury, I would be dismissing ANYTHING this narcissistic “Doctor” says and dismiss his answers from being credible. He is one of the most arrogant and unlikeable people I’ve ever seen or listened to.

I am a clinical psychologist, and I do quite a bit of forensic work. I cannot imagine any circumstance in which I would diagnose a client I have not personally evaluated. He is blatantly incorrect to testify that such actions are appropriate, he is laughable.

Really hope this trial opens peoples eyes as to what it means to have a doctorate. If you don’t like your doctor and suspect he’s an idiot, get a new doctor.

One thing I know about trials is a lawyer never lets a witness go on like this unless they are digging themselves a hole. They stick to yes or no unless they know the witness it harming their own case.

I’m on Johnny’s side 100%. If Amber wants to sue anyone when this is over, she should sue her legal team-because these expert witnesses are making her look a damn idiot-they are defaming her more than anyone 🤣🤣🤣

I am genuinely impressed by the amount of 'experts' that are damaging their professional reputations for AH.

In the beginning, this clown was still confident. He directed his answers to the jury. Then that changed quickly. First he became discreetly aggressive when his work ethic was questioned. It ended with no eye contact with the jury for the last half hour and contradictions, excuses and confusion. A true expert.

I watched this live. He's SO weird and creepy that it's like watching a movie villain. Guy acts like someone on meth. HE should be on trial for some kind of sex offense.

Funny that he is calling JD a narcissist when this guy is behaving EXACTLY how a narcissist would when questioned and disagreed with. That lawyer is smart. He allowed the guy to speak so everyone could see how "unhinged" he appeared to be.

“Dr. David Spiegel” was able to “properly” diagnose Johnny Depp aka Captain Jack Sparrow as being a raging alcoholic and having an uncontrollable drinking problem. The good doctor was able to draw this conclusion just based off of watching the “Pirates of the Caribbean” movies. I really don’t understand why anyone would question that diagnosis. This seems like a “logical” and “text book” approach for diagnosing someone with alcoholism…

It’s interesting how his head and facial mannerism are so similar to Heard’s. Jerky, moving around, and you can SEE their gears turning in some inner conversation that has nothing to do with what they’re doing at that moment. This guy is terrifying. If I came across him clinically, I’d report him to the state immediately. Argumentative, always has to be right, AND very black and white, all or nothing, in his arguments. Which is a sign of a personality disorder.

The problem with this guy he went on a complete defensive stance. Not replying to questions directly but instead trying to make the attorney seem like he as no clue of the subject matter. The response when he was ridiculed by pulling a weird face and then starts scratching his throat.
