What was viewed in the 70s and 80s as true life friends is now always viewed in a sexual context. Doesn't necessarily have to be like that. Everyone needs that one friends who sticks with you through your life struggles and victories. We should all strive to be that friend. The world has gone shallow because deep friendship requires love, pain and responsibility in being there and caring for someone other than ourselves.

But they share a connection both starting out as musicians in the South Florida music scene at the same time. JD loves being on stage with a rock band and MM probably loves showing off how close he is with JD.... but it is a mutual thing. And maybe it is way overdue that men can display affection as friends and it not be taboo or to have to refrain from a fear of anyone thinking you are gay or bisexual. You know what’s so sad to me and what I’ve always noticed in MM? He wants desperately to be loved, truly loved, (not fan love or just sex but real love) and accepted for who he is, not what he does and what a person thinks they can change him into. I think Johnny gives that to him in friendship. But I don’t think he’s ever truly had that with a romantic partner. I read once in Jenna Jameson’s autobiography that after she had sex with him for the first time and then got up to leave, he begged her to cuddle with him.
