Johnny Five gets sad... 

I am so thankfull for this movie. I remember as a child i felt also not accepted like Johnny. This movie unconsciously helped me to overcome bad times of my childhood and i know that its true for others as well, and so i am really thankfull for bringing this beautiful imaginary character to live. His two most favourite books.. Pinochio and Frankenstein.

They just don't make films like this anymore. I find it strange that by an odd coincidence, someone is always cutting onions in my house during those scenes.

His favorite books made me feel so sad for him (Pinocchio and Frankenstein). It really humanized him and his need to find out who he is and where he belongs...Tears shed :(

I love this damn robot.

This is just like my life. I can relate to Johnny Five. He was lonely because people didn’t believe he was alive, and I was lonely because no one noticed I am alive, especially my parents. If I was in that movie, I would give Johnny a hug. We both need it.

I thought 0:15, 1:05, 1:26 and 2:33 were the saddest scenes in the film. But 1:26 was truly the saddest moment of the whole film. That scene of the aftermath of Johnny's 5 attack was real upsetting. Really made me cry as a child.

I've been a huge Johnny five fan since I was in second grade and I still am now. Anyone who getting into Johnny five stuff, get in line because I'll be going full force. I still love Johnny five to this day.

it's a film about friendship loyalty and being accepted in society

This film absolutely changed my life. I'm 32, here now at the end of 2022. Had to have been 7yrs old when I saw it first. How to treat people, the innocence of curiosity.. it's all there

it's a bit sad watching someone trying to fit in just to get turned down when in reality they have so much more potential

This movie always touched my heart. This happened to be one of my first movies (and it's sequel) I watched it as a kid and growing up I was one of the only Chinese kid in the school I went to. I had a hard time relating to other kids. I remember watching this and was able to cope with my surroundings because I was being discriminated against on a weekly basis (kids telling me to go back to my country even tho I was born here) and people assuming that I couldn't speak English. I tried my best to be just like Johnny 5 growing up to the point where I learned to mimic voices and to trust others, until/unless they show their true colors. To me Johnny 5 is alive and will always be my hero

Johnny Five is the most human of all of us because he has Insecurities and he eventually learns how to deal with them.

I couldn't figure out why I loved and had such a visceral, sad reaction to Satie's Gymnopedies series when I heard them as an adult and now I know why. This movie and these sad parts -- they obviously had an effect on me.

Aww, poor Johnny 5 :< i hate to see him do sad.....i just wanna hug him!!!!!!

These are the scenes that make this movie better than the original. This movies was popular among children (I was one back then) and taught so many lessons about the darker side of life too us, while still being a overall fun and positive movie. Just great all around.

Silly how i get more emotional over Johnny 5, than i get over so many oscar movies that invoke all the dramatic sad moments.

0:13 1:05 1:25 2:32 The saddest moments of the film. 1:25 really made me cry as a kid. It was one of the saddest things I've ever seen, next to the death of Sam the Dog in I Am Legend and the deaths of the Tenth Doctor and Amy Pond in Doctor Who.

This movie rips me apart more at the age of 36 then it did when I was a kid.

This is not based on an imaginary story. Johnny five is not just a robot that runs programmes, hes ALIVE . A citizen of America.

When they show him getting beat up on daytime tv they usually cut it down a bit. I suppose it's quite harsh for a family film that could be watched by young children.

I remember crying as a child

Lived in Nyc my whole life, saw this when I was a kid. Saw it again as an adult. It Realest movie you will see if you ever got jumped, robbed etc. People in NYC are from Good to Evil and shade in between.

Mate! I have been looking for this since i was about 7 year old. I knew it was similar to "Gymnopedie", composed by Erik Satie, which ive only found the name of on this thread, I thought i was the only one who knew what i was on about. I tried watching the credits from the film etc but gave up. Ive just stumbled on it now. Well done! haha

I finally made the connection bewteen Trois Gymnopédies and this movie that I used to watch as a kid.

At 1.40 if I saw him in that state out in the street, I'd do all I can to help him. Have to get help from someone highly knowledgeable about fixing him. Still a machine but alive with some sort of soul.

Considering how goofy and funny the first one was, it was really gutsy for them to give the second one this many sad scenes. This isn't even all of them, as it cuts out the scene where the priest in the church thinks Johnny is a man trying to "confess by remote control," and kicks him out. It also doesn't show the atrocity of Oscar and his cronies smashing Johnny to pieces and Johnny's confusion about how they could do this to him. Oof. Such good drama in an otherwise comedic film!

The Frankenstein/Pinocchio part always gets me.

All these scenes were said but the only thing I never understood was even as a child and it had me mad, he was built for the military but can't survive a beating from some Thugs and crowbars so how was he going to survive on The Battlefield why they never armored this guy up even in part 2
