I want Johnny Knoxville and Jackie Chan to co-direct and co-star in a movie together. Obviously shot somewhere where safety regulations don't matter as much.
I keep coming back to this interview for the moment after Knoxville explains his many injuries, where Kimmel comments "So, you're really like a BAD stuntman", and then Knoxville explodes into laughter. His self-awareness regarding his slapstick-comedy-fetish really makes me happy.
Alive & unwell they’re still very good friends. Watch the Steve-o episode of the RU-vid show “Hot Ones.” Johnny calls Steve-O during it completely unannounced. You can tell they talk regularly.
Stunt men are meant to do the stunt with little to no damage where as Johnny Knoxville and the rest of jackass did Stunts to get hurt deliberately haha
Holy cow! Even if I weren't a fan of obscure theme parks, I'd feel like I'd have to see this film just to pay back Johnny for suffering so much for his audience! Jimmy's tales of the real Action Park really whet my interest as well. Reminds me of back in the '70s, visiting the first waterpark in Southern California, "Wild Wild Wet", which was just one huge multi-lane slide. Instead of the smooth fiberglass of modern waterslides, this slide was made of rough concrete. You rode down on a foam mat, and if you were unlucky enough to let your skin touch the slide on the way down, you were in for one hell of a scraping. My grandmother unfortunately skinned up her calf pretty badly. The splashdown pool was also way deeper than it needed to be, and not being a great swimmer at the time, I almost drowned after getting dumped off the end of the slide. The place closed shortly after we attended it, in the wake of injury lawsuits, I believe.
There were 6 fatalities at Action Park in the 80's. I went a few times in the 90's as a kid before it closed, and I'm surprised there weren't more deaths. I flew off the alpine slide halfway down because I was too light. There were like zero rules. Fun place though!
Johnny is a living icon...American treasure...any 90s kid grew up with him and the Jack Ass crew...I remember that show was like the thing to talk about...
Vernon Valley was AWESOME... i was to little to get on the alpine slide so I'd walk up and wait for someone to fly off , get hurt then jump on with their sled. learned how to drive on the go cart track.. I was 10 or 11 years old.
Yeah this is kind of sad honestly, glorifying someone for destroying their mind and body for entertainment. There's a reason athletes are often forced to retire after just a couple of concussions. Compared to his early Jackass days, you can see that he has lost a lot of his social intelligence. Some of the jokes he made here come across as sad and the audience reacts pitifully. It's like seeing the kid in middle school punch himself as hard as he can in the nuts for attention while everyone else quietly cringes.
+9MRSG: I didn't particularly think that, but I did notice that his eye that popped out wasn't closing properly. The thought of having an eye pop out is like my kryptonite. 😳
Traction Park. Oh the memories. Yup few trips. Few injuries black and blues And nasty hip pain. Then there was getting booted off the Indy cars. LoL. Loved every moment !!! Action Point was actually a funny movie. I loved it.
I love knoxville and will watch anything he does...i think its best he quit stunting tho...hes earned it and getting older is risking himself more...that said he can do what he does and ill be there to watch
