Has the potential to be the number 1 overall pick. He's got accuracy, underrated football IQ. above arm strength and we all he's a magician. If he can work on his durability and some of his issues off the field, no question Houston Texans this is your number 1 overall pick and your franchise quarterback for the next 10 to 15 years in the future.

This game shows why Manziel should go #1 overall he's got the fire to compete he has a good accurate arm rare playmaking ability and doesn't accept defeat until the game is over he improved so much this season and he'll keep getting better, if the Texans take Clowney they will DEEPLY regret it he's got talent but you don't see the desire in him that you saw from Lawrence Taylor Reggie White or Deacon Jones and that's something you can't teach once he gets his money that's not gonna magically make him work hard and JJ Watt can only do so much for him he can't babysit him and there's plenty of talented pass rushers in the draft but only 1 Johnny Manziel

As a texans fan I fine if they draft clowney or k Mack and draft garroppolo,Murray,or mettenberger I'm fine in the second round. But if they choose to go Qb first they have to take manziel because of the excitement he would bring back to the organization and team he has that Brady "IT" factor that will make him an easy transitional player in the league. And again this is my opinion. But if you have other scenarios the texans can do pls tell me

Johnny Manziel's playbook. 1. Find Mike Evans 2. Run ....I mean, that's all I saw really. He is a Play Maker, not a QB. Teams need to draft safely, don't get him with their first round picks. Vincent Jackson is closest comparison to Mike Evans so Tampa would be ok drafting him, but I just don't see it for any other team. And on a side note, this hype that NFL network and ESPN will kill him mentally when something goes wrong, I'd draft him in the later 2nd rounds. BTW- I hope i'm wrong, I really like him.
@corynelson3604
@corynelson3604 10 лет назад
Of the four passing touchdowns in this particular game Johnny hit Travis Labhart three times and Derel Walker once. Did you even watch? Yeah, Mike Evans was his go to receiver during the year. Why would he not throw to his best receiver? In 2012 it was Ryan Swope instead of Evans, and they put up similar numbers.
@DRT_Music
@DRT_Music 10 лет назад
Its the fact that they are giving johnny all of the credit. All he did was throw jump balls and Evans was always there.
@corynelson3604
@corynelson3604 10 лет назад
No ones giving Johnny all the credit. Evans got drafted higher than he did. And again, watch the video, Evans recorded 0 touchdowns in this game.
@DRT_Music
@DRT_Music 10 лет назад
Cory Nelson So compare Manziel's aire time to Evans, and It should not matter that Manziel is a QB. I have Literally heard Evans name at least 5 times on NFL Network.
@rickmage8655
@rickmage8655 10 лет назад
Femi Daniel ..Dude, without Johnny, maybe Evans don't get near the receptions that he got, last year or the year before. If Winston was the QB for A&M, A&M wouldn't have even made it to a bowl game. And seriously....You open your big mouth, and you make it sound like that Evans made every damn reception, during the season, and also had over 4100 yards in reception. Yes, Evans is a good security blanket, but what great QB doesn't have a security blanket? Have you even watched ONE A&M game? If you had, you would know how stupid you look, right now. Quit getting your opinions off of youtube highlights and those ESPN clowns. You look like a complete idiot, when you do.

Tebow Manziel comparison noobs must be trolls, or entirely inept? The only similarity is that they both run and they both won the Heisman. They don't even run the same. One is a fullback and one makes ppl miss in open field. Oh yeah and Johnny is also a very accurate passer and will clearly continue to improve as a passer with hard work. Tebow...well not even prayer can help that guy throw. Hell I'm a graduated Texas Longhorn and I got nothing but love and big props for Johnny Football. Fuck yeah!

You want to see what Manziel lookslike on a bad day against a good defense, watch the LSU game. That was ROUGH to watch. He's inconsistent, do I still want him? Yes, but he's overrated, shouldn't go in the top 10. Other positions so much stronger than QB this year.
@stuntduad
@stuntduad 10 лет назад
He can make plays occasionally, but he tucks and runs too often, He's either gonna get destroyed or be successful in the NFL.
@mikemcbride7572
@mikemcbride7572 10 лет назад
yeah bcuz his defense was ranked like 109th in college football. so he had to put up 50 points a game to win. so he played risky and did things he shouldn't of. by the 11th or 12th game of the season against lsu he had a screwed up shoulder, knee, and thumb. hes does have a lot of hype, but is def not overrated, every SEC game except for 2 bcuz of injury he tore it up and no one could stop him, he destroyed Alabama both times. but his defense sucked the 2nd time. if anyones overrated its teddy bridgewater, or blake bortles. all their competition sucked. and all their recivers are wide the hell open 75% of the time with no pass rush. manziel gonna be good. I think he will play smart and grasp pocket passing. and not run so much, and get down if he does.
@EternalWolf86
@EternalWolf86 10 лет назад
mike mcbride Manziel's instincts are by far his biggest problem as a prospect and will likely be the reason he fails at the next level, if he does(which I believe he will). Despite what people may say, it's pretty much proven that a player's instincts can't be coached/changed. If it was possible to coach this then we would see players, especially mobile QBs like Vick and RG3, improve over time. It just doesnt happen, if they haven't been able to change their instincts by the time they enter the NFL they likely never will. He often runs out of the pocket when he doesn't need to and this is usually out of the shotgun as well. Doing this is very bad as it eliminates almost the entire field and leaves him only with one or two targets, if they are in the same area he is running towards. He also refuses to throw the ball away, always trying to make a big play. Keep in mind that he did this in college, where every defense is very slow compared to the NFL and Manziel isn't very fast. If he and when he does this in the NFL it will lead to a lot of sacks, small gains and interceptions in the NFL. Another big problem is his accuracy. First of all, he isn't that accurate. A lot of his throws are underthrown, overthrown, behind, high or low whether the target is open or not. While he is capable of hitting his targets in stride or throwing them open it is still a rarity to see from Manziel. This a very bad sign for a QB prospect because in the NFL you don't have the luxury to make passes that are anything but in stride or throwing the the target open. You have to remember that he is playing in college, where DBs just arent any good. They are very slow, usually out of position and if they are in position they are almost never looking to make a play on the ball. That is not the case in the NFL, where just about any underthrown ball or pass that is behind the WR is picked off or deflected. When analyzing a QB in college to see how he will transition to the NFL you have to assume that a DB will always be in position to make a play on the ball, regardless of whether the DB in college is or isn't. Just because a pass is completed doesn't mean it was a good throw and having a high completion percentage in college is usually meaningless. It is not rare at all for a college QB to throw for a ton of yards at a very high completion percentage, with a ton of TDs and a small amount of INTs. Graham Harrell threw for 5705 Yards, 48 TDs, 14 INTs with a 71.8 Completion Percentage. He wasn't drafted. College stats are literally meaningless if you are trying to figure out if a QB is accurate or not. Manziel's decision making isn't that good either. Aside from what I already mentioned, how he creates problems for himself by taking off when there is no need and his refusal to throw the ball away, he will often throw it into what would be good/great coverage in the NFL but even worse is that he will carelessly throw the ball up for grabs. Some of this is his rather poor ability to read defenses, something that can be taught and some of this is his instincts, which likely wont change. Another concern is his footwork and throwing mechanics, which plays a big part in his accuracy. This can be improved but will take a lot of time to and it will not improve if he is playing because it has to become natural to him, he has to make this the way he throws when using his instincts. He is going to have to sit and be well coached for quite some time. There are two problems with this. First, will the team that drafts him start him right away or have a coach/front office fold under pressure from losing and secondly, will he be willing to sit on the bench for a year or two while he is likely on a team that is going nowhere without a QB? His off-field issues could come into play here as well. His height isn't a concern to me and his weight wouldn't be if he was willing to slide or throw the ball away. It's hard to tell if he has good pocket presence when he remains in the pocket because of how often he takes off, not to mention he had an amazing offensive line to protect him. He certainly is able to escape what should be sacks more than most college QBs but it's unknown if he will be able to do it against bigger, stronger, faster and smarter defenders in the NFL. In my opinion he shouldn't be drafted until the 4th Round at the earliest. Maybe he is worth a 3rd Round Pick to a team either with a need at QB and can't afford to pass on his potential or to a contender without many needs who has a great QB and coaching staff in place for him to develop. I don't believe he will get drafted in the 1st Round of the draft.

Manziel Pros: Can escape almost out of any amount of pressure. Manziel has passion and competitive fire. He is unorthodox in that he doesn't need timing and rhythm to have a good game. Manziel Cons: If you look at the qb's in the nfl who are the most elusive in the nfl like Manziel (Big Ben, Mike Vick, Rg3) they are always hurt or playing hurt. I don't think he can consistently get away from players in the NFL like he did in college. Manziel also has to get adjusted in playing in different elements. He played in the Sec which has games always in warmer weather, He will probably see snow for the first time in Cleveland.
