I can feel my son Ryan saying this to me before he went Heaven. I have listened to it many many many times. Thanks John for this beautiful song. As always you paint pictures with each song ❤😢
Connie. He certainly does deserve a Grammy!!..This is so special. I, have been feeling comfort from his songs since the tender age of 8!!.. now 61yrs later he has that same effect on me..Thank you, Mr.Johnny Mathis ~~~
Simply said Johnny. You are amazing and so very, very unique. Your voice is like velvet as it always has been, and it takes me to places of comfort and worlds of peace. Congratulations on bringing such joy to so many over so many years. May you please, please live forever and continue to help mend broken hearts and lift spirits for all who hear you sing, because that is exactly what you do for me. We are all so blessed. Thank you so very kindly.
Johnny Mathis, you still got "it"!!!! This is beautiful. Well sung by a legend, an icon, an awesome vocal talent. Your vocal sounds so great, pure and strong. You have always been good at emitting emotion through song.
One of the saddest most beautiful farewell songs ever written, from songwiter/singer/pianist Peter Allen to wife Liza, additional lyrics by Dean Pitchford.Sung by one of our top vocalists today..Johnny Mathis has always made me feel good as I listened to his songs..Still sounding wonderful..Thanks Johnny.you warble so romantically!
Thank you for remembering Peter Allen and keeping this song out there, especially when you know the reasons this song was written. Such a beautiful rendition.
It certainly has been a wonderful and exciting though sometimes sad journey. But you have given so much to all. To be able to listen to the greatest voice on the planet.. You sir are a hard act to follow. Thanks for the memories in your songs since I was 9 or 10 yrs of age. The movie A Certain Smile, started it all for me. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful voice with all.
I have been an avid fan of Johnny Mathis since I was a teen. I had never heard this song until the day my husband died. That day I asked my Alexa to play Johnny Mathis songs. This amazing song came on and I thought instantly that this would be my husbands last tribute to me. Well it doesn't end there, it continued to play intermitently all day long without my asking until my husband passed that evening . Thank you !
My mother is in love with you, Johnny, and it's good she doesn't know where you live or she'd be parking outside your house. Your songs were a big part of her high school life and loves :) :)
Johnny's take on this is definitive. I enjoyed it when I heard it in 2017. I don't have this particular album, but I think I should get myself a copy of it. Right now singer, composer, producer, arranger Barry Manilow has picked it up. I had difficulty immediately enjoying it when he performed it twice in East coast concerts. He's likely putting it on his upcoming album. Yes, a performance from August 13th was ear catching, but he put it in the style of his big ballads. How else would he do it, right? I'm a fan of Barry. In closure, Johnny Mathis has been tackling and crooning the greatest compositions of music for several decades. Johnny's version stands alone as the only version pop music enthusiasts need to hear. 🌹
I have done it all again , 2 time's to see Johnny in Hawaii, and he was worth every penny, and i said to myself once before i go lets do it you only live once.
This must be the best song he’s ever recorded which is saying a lot because his body of work is dazzling. His voice and interpretation is simply incredible. I’ve loved him as long as I can remember.
Very beautiful and heartbreaking song, Mr Johnny! It reminds me of the last few hours of my partner before he left, he can no longer speak or move his body (final stage of brain cancer), he raised his left arm pointing to his lips as if asking me to kiss him one more time! I just hugged him tight and kissed him. A few hours later, he was gone. 😭😭😭
Your voice reminds me of home, safe with Mum and Dad...and my dear brother who has since left us, I would love to do it all again, thanks for being the soundtrack to their and my days, so bittersweet these words...😢
Magnificent song and by the best artist ever Got chills listening Thank You again for making people very happy So glad that you have made this new music Love It 👍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍🌹🎃🎃
No one sings this song like Patti Labelle. But give Johnny Mathis the Kennedy Center Honour and Medal of Freedom for gosh sakes. He should have had them 25 years ago.
Written by the songwriting and performing colossus, the legendary musician, Peter Allen, beautiful lyrics by Dean Pitchford. Great recording by Johnny, of course!
If he used his talents for rnb most of.his fans would hate him. Its sad cuz my people are an immensely talented people musically no matter the genre. Johnny really paved the way for every one of my people today who are successful in music.
In his interview he gave Josh Groben all the credit but I'm sorry to spoil the party but Josh has nothing on Johnny Mathis. For starters, Johnny never got in the fray of politics like Josh has. Johnny is a man of integrity and someone gifted beyond words. I posted this song on my FB account so millions can hear it and be blessed by him. Truly a special soul Johnny Mathis.
