That should be a great set-up. You will be really happy with that reel. Reels effortlessly under a load. I haven't had a single wind knot with it in over a year of usage. I'm using Field and Stream 8lb. test. Found it to be very supple and smaller than most in diameter. I have braid on other spinners I have, but this one I spooled mono. Been thinking about picking up the 4000 size and trying one of those Ugly Stik Carbon rods. Thanks for the comment and tight lines!

No, It is not waterproof...just has water resistant drag washers. I use it for salt water but avoid submerging it and rinse it thoroughly afterward.
