The Best of Louisiana state Legend Johnny Rivers , I have the utmost respect for; Don't remember Elvis much due to my age , This is one song I liked but just the beat. Elvis they call the King, Thanks 😊 🙏 But Christ is my King. Great voice and version of many songs done by Johnny Rivers 👏 👏 👏
Yes.this guy can really sing!!!!! I have been a fan of his since he first started singing and was on American bandstand. Wish he would come sing in ft Wayne in. I would be in front row listening that would a true dream come true to see him in person!!!!
Sometimes it takes me a minute to realize that - that voice with a bit of a southern accent from his Louisiana days comes out of a dark haired Italian man born in NYC.
AMAZXING- He should be named "the king of rock genres" 80 UPS and a big fat zero on "umm maybe not great" ZERO" Another hook to JR, IMO, after 5 years of staedy listening- 1) For me, he never makes me depressed 2) He IMO, knows how too build a song from zero to 180!!! He is a master if letting a somg "breathe"!!! On the Live recordings Youve lost that loving Feeling, he takes that overdone? classic and ythe desperation of thios man is built up- now for range- He is no Elvis, but who is?? YET, through his being INTO tyhe song- that is another point-= I have never seen him tired of his repoitre-but do they num=ber 4000 ? Guess. So in Loving feeling he gets to the rfequired high, by almos=t a YODEL- but it REALLY works bevause he p;uts it all on the line to make it work!! he ngoes from "Poor side of town" to "wal;king the Dog" to Simmer Rain" !! WHO DOES THAT!!! How many guys have- "Secret agent ma"n in his bag of tricks. I think he should put out collectors box where he has writing credits- and we may be suprised... JR is a monster of Rock and roll- How to do it smart. Tom Petty was all into "the band" but JR saying, IO can ride my Bonneville and have Jim Gordon playing Drums for me, is it not clear, that JR's "rent a band" is the way to fly?? Oh I tjhink I will buy a soul;town record company./ Oh I think Marilyn Mccoo should be charting, Oh I think I will sign a down on his luclk FUTURE GREAT SON G WRITER!! and maybe that rookie Glenn CVambell will like that song Galveston. This crap bout Rock and Roll Hall is the old story of Jealousy- How dare this italian guy be so succesful!! OOPS Bob Dylan indirectly? Mocks the ilHall saying He , JR blew away all other cover artists ,and "HE IS MY BROTHER": He is so damn RichI so want him to do his own HALL because he is s o verty interestingm and not to overuse because it fits- JR is a one of a kind"- heck no drugs etc makes him that!!! !! Cajun Barbecue and all of his tjhousands of cuts playing 24-7. Yes I back those whom I rerspect.
amateurs cant really emulate the stadium-playing Stones (said to be the best rock n roll band in the world) but they could successfully emulate Johnny Rivers (the best bar band in the world) and earn themselves a bunch of paying gigs…
I like elvis too but I would put Johnny right up there with him when it comes to singing plus he is good looking too.from a 74 year old woman who has been a fan of both! My husband of 55 yrs.was a fan too. I am a widow now but I still love his music and voice!
Elvis was gone by 40- this Solataire man is pushing 80!!! I edeclare this BOMB- no one but no one has a more diverse catalog of music in the history of mankind. He does this- then a TIM HARDIN number where it is difficult to differentiate that master, Bob Dylan, calling JR his "brother" in his autobio, BECAUSE HR RECOGNIZED JR WAS THE REAL DEAL!! JR has "musical empathy"
