He's one crazy, egotistical, outspoken fucker with some talent for loud, screechy, accented vocals and that's Johnny Rotten's career, act and charisma!
I love how hes not trying to be modest like other people in interviews acting like hes a saint. Hes being himself which is also why his music is so great.
When he came backstage to see the Ramones in London i believe Joey and the guys pissed in a beer they gave to Johnny. I love Johnny though. He calls it the way he sees it.
HAHA! This is brilliant! I must say, that the interviewer is doing a nice job keeping her cool. This interview seems extremely fast pased without the decadent "MTV editing" of interviews of today. Johnny Rotten is fucking cool.
idiotic questions posed by idiots receive likes by idiots. Just as simple as that. oh..almost forgot: Who's reading this in 2019? Please, I need to know.
John comes off as arrogant because he speaks his mind and is completely honest, unlike every other rock star or celebrity out there. He refuses to brown-nose or butter up any band or person, and is unafraid to be hated for his views. On Deep Purple: I thought we buried that lot years ago. Brilliant!
"This is why Im not tolerated, I cant be bothered to tell a lie, the truth is far harder but much more valid and much more worthwhile." What an amazing Comment !
"i can't be bothered to tell a lie" thats why hes fucking epic and will always be known as punk he dosn't care what you think about him it dosn't slow him down none
I think that what bothers Johnny the most is that Sid vicious will always be held in higher regard than him,and that bit of truth will always eat at rotten because people will always say that the Pistols will never be the same without Vicious
Um.........I didn't rate Sismd at all and I have no respect for him. John, well............I value John highly because he evolves and never sold out to anyone.
....he used us...his legend is cemented....result!....in this world there are winners and losers....we love you Johnny....and thanks for improving our vinyl record collections immeasurably......
his mood started to change after 1988 in interviews, he seemed more approachable, right after he and his wife missed that infamous Lockerbie flight. Maybe it's just a coincidence.
I can't believe that John Lydon has lived in LA for over 30 years and is a property developer. Not to mention being in commercials for butter and being on a TV reality show. It's like he has become everything he once despised. I think that's what getting old does to you. Out goes Anarchy and in comes living a millionaire lifestyle in LA. I think The Clash were an important punk band. They never sold out. Joe Strummer was never a millionaire and always was fighting for a cause. The year before he died they turned down 5 million for a reunion. That's what I call integrity. Joe was a great person and true to himself.
I think you're right. I notice the change in him in his latest autobiography. I was really sad myself when his stepdaughter Ari Up of The Slits died a few years back.. I thought she was a lovely person.
Yes but the clash were posers. Great band, but they were little posh boys, they didn't come from mean living conditions and poverty like the sex pistols did.
Mick was brought up by his Gran in a council tower block overlooking the Weastway. The only one that you could say grew up in a different world was Joe. He went to Public school, his father was a minor diplomat. It's only Joe. He changed. He left home at the earliest opportunity. His life has been scrutinised in detail in numerous biographies. We know what he was like. We can't help the circumstances of our birth. It's what you do with your life that's important and shows who you really are. It's about what you become. The Clash had integrity. They lost money on records they put out due to doing things like double albums for the price of one and even triple albums. They never made money as a band. They even used tour money to pay for soul legend Jackie Wilsons hospital bill. Just because someone went to a public school means nothing. Ask yourself would Joe Strummer be on TV commercial or a reality show. Would Mick,Topper or Paul, You must be joking. I love John, who couldn't but I admit I don't like people I admire going all corporate.. I think the other thing is that The Clash wrote about things that were important to them. They had a real message they wanted to share. The Sex Pistols didn't really have a message in the same sense. Great band, great look and a 'don'y give a fuck attitude. They never said they weren't interested in money did they They gave the establishment a good kick up the arse which was much needed. To be honest I think I was wrong to write that about them.. In the same situation I would probably do the same as John and Iggy . I know John does things for charity and is a nice guy.
He is supreme in the mind. He really does not need you (or me) He has achieved a state higher to learn from. It really comes to the point of a creator verses a user.
@TTFPouyii who do you think you are? You useless, worthless, slob. Nobody needs you. I am not sure why you’re even on the internet. Go do something constructive with your life.
