Happy Halloween! Hope you’re having a spooktacular Sunday (awful pun) and thanks as always for coming back for another episode. Tonight it’s the final instalment of my Ontario mini-series and I’m taking on The Hungry Man Challenge at Johnny’s Eater in Oshawa, ON. I hope you enjoy it, thanks so much to all the people who’ve let me know how much they’ve enjoyed this little trip and you’ll be happy to know it’s not going to be long at all until the next one. Bonus points if you can guess the next destination… I’ll be back this Thursday at 7pm UK time with the next…’Til then, stay insatiable! :)
I've beaten the hungry mans breakfast there and got the tshirt, if I had known you were coming to our little city I would have gone and tried the lunch challenge with you.
There's a place near where I live that has hundreds of fails. I was really hoping he'd come here to do it, but he was in the east. I live in BC. They have waaaay too many fries in that challenge
thank you very much mate...always makes it worthwhile to hear people have enjoyed it...really, most people probably don't know how much it means. Appreciate it :)
Great series, Adam. You perfectly balance competitive eating, great cinematography, travel and banter. Such good banter! More eating abroad series requested! Please and thanks
Hi Adam, I would pay good money to see a head to head food challenge between sister Beard and Mrs Lindsey Beard. And the food challenge is a fish and chips burger but the burger buns are made from garlic bread. Winer get £100. So come on now let's get it.
An eating quantity challenge is for the few. 99.9% of the population wouldn't even attempt this small challenge according to ATONM standards... Ms Beard Vs Sis Beard would end up at a dead end of who finished the most with a weigh in... Of which wouldn't benefit either of them as they are not competitive eaters... It would attract negative comments in the end and wouldn't be worth it.. let the work be done by the professional.. and not the wife and sister of the professional that stand to be insulted for no reason.... Just my opinion
@@JoshJos-Shwa didn't know that & I'm very happy to corrected. Thank you for your reply & your opinion. I watched the video of Adams-(Beard meets food) with his wife in it & it was Adam that stated it as a idea. I thought it would be fun just to watch.
@@JoshJos-Shwa I don't know where your from ie: what county but what's happening how's everything with COVID-19 over there with you? I'm from New Zealand & in Hamilton central as far as COVID-19 cases last time I checked we had four cases in ICU hospital but for New Zealand as a whole country it's not looking great at all. I've also recheck Adams videos & he does ask his wife to do more food challenges with him & he also ask his sister as well? And his comments that he gets are quite good no bad comment's as yet just a lot of laughter and fun.
Oh my god Mayday Parade, haven't listened to them much the past 8 years, thanks for reminding me of them :D This is one of the few challenges I believe I could smash haha
You gotta almost worry when he said there was an interesting taste to them & something green & she said it was just regular beef 🤣 loved the Canadian series mate!
I seriously thought the same.. I'm hopefully assuming she is inept at how the chefs are cooking though. Which is a big no no.. she should know how they are prepared to the T.. but it's most concerning
@@biggusdickkus2956 I don't quite think you know what my dude Dillion and Josh were talking about, so as a Chef I will kindly explain it to you. When a waitress or waiter work in a restaurant, cafe, bar with food, cafeteria or anything else; they have daily/weekly meetings (or whenever something new comes on the menu) where the Chef's explain the menu, the food, hows its made, what it's made with, etc. The waitstaff does this so that when a person asks "what is this green stuff" she can say what it is. Pretty self explanatory. So to answer your question; No I do not expect a shoe salesman to know how a trainer is made, I would, however, expect him to know the materials, the different parts of the shoe, features, colors, etc. I also expect a waitress to be able to answer what is in a burger that is GREEN.
@@kristiscabana settle down lmao you're talking like you're a 5 star Michelin chef. He's in a mom and pops tiny burger joint that's mainly for takeout. There's way bigger challenges in Toronto than he attempted this entire trip nevermind all of Ontario.
prithee, ms Roberts, if i hear awesome one more time, i may just shuffle off this mortal coil... please, please desist...ere i die. bereft of context, dear.
Regular folks flip right out when they see a competitive eater digging in, I get similar reactions of wonder and disbelief, and I'm strictly an amateur for shirts and wall of fame glory (that doesn't sound right). Great job in Canadia, mate. You mopped up on awards.
Its not anymore. We are only a few steps behind the tyranny of Australia. Did you see that he can't even enter a restaurant without showing his papers 🤦
5:05 Yeah definitely seems like the ones you hit in Canada weren't too crazy except for the breakfast one (that one was insane) but the USA should be a different story. We do most things bigger and more stupid lol. Really waiting on you to do a tour of food challenges in the south and Midwest.
oh gees yeah I'd love to see him take on the Emmenecker challenge at any Jethros here in Iowa. Some of them offer a cash prize if you beat the record time.
I did a burger challenge in Beths burger bar in Florida. It was a similar burger and no fries with 10mins to do it. It was so easy I think some people do it for marketing.
@@aaronf4201 Yeah, for sure there's always going to be some challenges that aren't much at all. Honestly, I thought Canada would've had some harder ones for him than what he found. Might have to do with his travel schedule or something. Either way, I know there are some mighty ones in the states because of the many tv shows that have covered them over the years. Also, I've seen Randy Santel do them on his channel.
I'm right down the street!! My mom actually used to work at this exact location. I came here a lot as a kid growing up hahah so funny seeing you here!! Haven't been to Johnny's in years...quite nostalgic!
I loved this series to be fair! Can’t wait for more travel series! After the hassles of covid and the misery that came with it this series was a breath of fresh air!
not than american ones...than english yeah, because we don't have much cadence here. The whole reason they're better in USA/Canada, is they're made to entice regular people into trying. So usually they're like 5lb...just out of reach for regular people, but not so implausible that they put normal diners off. I think that's the art, and although it makes some a little easy, they're for me a lot of fun to do.
@@Beardmeatsfood Yeah, I love American challenge portions, for the most part. They typically aren't absurd and the quality is very high, the downside here is they aren't usually free if you complete them, however.
Thank you for doing a series here in Canada! You've actually given my wife and I two new restaurants to check out when we head near the city for a movie date night :) !
Another excellent segment! I started watching your channel (and subscribed) in April of 2020 and you’ve really helped get me through the pandemic. Each new challenge you post is truly a bright spot in my day. Continued success to you and Mrs. Beard! ☮️
I’m a little bit sad that it was your last challenge in Canada. I’ve really enjoyed watching the series. Are you going to do any other travelling serious? It was really great to see something a little bit different from around the world, I know they were the same kind of videos but just in a different setting and hearing the different people in the restaurants. I did like the fact that they thought the waitresses family may have heard of you.
Oh my gosh I've never been to this restaurant but it seems to be more of a senior citizens hangout just by the people talking to you so funny .....We live in Belleville ontario and I just started watching your videos 2 weeks ago and your videos are very enjoyable to watch.. I don't think restaurants here have eating challenges that I know of .....Its just incredible how you are able to eat that much food honestly....And the best part is ....you order desert it blows my mind ....
Great as always Adam! Would LOVE to see a head to head challenge between Mrs Beard and Sister Beard with you providing commentary. Would be comedy-gold!
My Mum used to make absolutely amazing lamb burgers, unfortunately she took the recipe with her when she passed. All I know is it had lamb mince, ketchup and onion in them. People say they wish they had ten minutes to talk to a deceased family member for deep soulful reasons, I just want that recipe! LOL
That deep fried poutine was nasty? Destroyed those burgers and fries. Cool you got two shirts. Great trip and series. Really enjoyed it. Always fun to watch. Great win and video
You forgot, let's get it. Lol. A champion end of a great tour. That did look easy compared to other challenges in the past. A free TSHIRT thrown in. Mrs Beard will be very impressed. You must video her reaction please. Very well done. X
This is awesome... still connected still bingeing On Beard.. like i keep repeating i am in hospital and the WIFI is terrible so i have missed so much, but for some reason it popped up today, so i am trying to catch up while i can and watch Beard. Ihope i can ge through the all before it goes off again . Thank you Beard these videos are help me so much, just wish the WIFI worked better, because watching your video help me so much esp in the dark days i am goign through. Thank you. This Canada journey has been a cool watch.
they actually brought that rule in while i was there haha....it was weird, like one day I could get into the hotel gym, public places etc. no problem...then they introduced a rule where you had to prove vaccination status...which of course is fine, but a lot of people were confused by the british form lol
@@cherylbois606 yeap, they won't let us in no restaurants no movie theaters no supermarket nothing. We said no to the vaccine,we got the antibodys ! they fired us and shipped us to the middle of nowhere with the rest of us. Not now not never!
Love the series! What makes a mini series different from a normal or full series? I would warrant this being a full season of Beard takes on Canada. Keep up the great videos! Shout out to the youtube algorithm for motivating me to comment.
a mini series is more than one episode devoted to a particular place; whether somewhere abroad or the back seat of his car...beardmeatsfood is his RU-vid channel, where he broadcasts episodes twice a week to viewers different and not unlike yourself
Seeing the beginning, I think you could eat two orders of these. I think you should have ordered two. That would have really surprised them. Thanks for sharing. Cheers.
