Johnny Watches: Lackadaisy (Pilot) (Blind Commentary) 

I remember loving this video! While still mildly confused about stuff, I was so taken in by the looks, the characters and the animation of it all! Cannot wait to see more of this! :D

I never read the actual comic this was based on, either, but I was blown away by the quality of the animation, the personalities of the characters, and the storytelling. You call tell a lot of love and dedication went into this. =) I really like all three of our main trio. Rocky is delightfully manic and charismatic, Freckle is a precious cinnamon bun who clearly has some inner demons to work through, if him using a gun is any indication, and Ivy is just plain adorable.

The final image of Wick Sable looking aghast at the devastation wrought to the rock quarry is because he owns it. Rocky, as you'll recall, intentionally steered the car through the fence instead of the gate. Rocky considers Wick to be a rival for Mitzi's affections, and he never misses a chance to stick it to the wealthy Mr Sable. All the story and character background can be found in the web comic; this pilot picks up where the comic left off.

AYO Man Reactin' to them Battlin' Cats! 🍞🍞🍞

Did you notice that when the car was pulling away from the building at 18:19, Mordecai's (the black cat) silhouette is seen in between the building and the light post? It's hard to make out but if you look closely you can see his eyes glowing white. I've watched the pilot several times and I never caught that before!

You can read the comics if you like but the series will not be the story you read. Just starring the same characters.
