The School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology (SOEST) at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa is dedicated to serving society through the acquisition and dissemination of new knowledge about the ocean, Earth, and planets, and to enhancing the quality of life in the state of Hawai‘i and in the nation by providing world-class education, contributing to a high-tech economy, and promoting sustainable use of the environment.
SOEST scientists and engineers are committed to providing solutions to complex issues, including water, energy, mineral resources, geohazards and environmental and climate change. Through four academic departments (Atmospheric Sciences, Earth Sciences, Oceanography, and Ocean and Resources Engineering) and numerous research institutes, centers and programs, SOEST undergraduate and graduate students are preparing to be the leaders of tomorrow.
