Hi, Randi! Thank you SO much for this awesome joining video! I have been quilting for a long time but always have to look up how to join the ends. Now that I have found your method, I will be using it from now on! I just managed to make a perfect join for my quilt which I will be entering in my State Fair this summer, all thanks to you! Bobbie🥰
That was a fantastic video. Thank you for your simple and slow instlructions. I’ve never really had a problem putting binding on quilts but I did it a bit differently than you did. I’m going to adopt your method from here forward. ❤
Thank you so much!! I tried following another tutorial that I ended up trying to redo several times with no luck. Yours was simple and straightforward. Thanks again!
You're Awesome! I hadn't done any binding in awhile, so I came back to the video and refreshed my memory. Thnks for all you do to make our sewing lives easier. 😊
Wow, this is simply the best video. I've watched other videos about joining the binding and was more confused after I watched them. Yours is so simple, concise, to the point, and calm. Thank you for this.
Hi Randi, I just came across this video and it was a blessing. I don't have trouble binding quilts, but byAnnie bags are a different beast. Your method is perfect. Thank you. Happy Sewing. ❤❤❤
Your tutorial for joining binding ends is the best one I found on internet. Your camera was perfectly stationed so we could see the exact way we would do these final steps.
Thank you Randi. I can now delete allllll the videos I have saved over the years on joining the ends on my binding. This is exactly what I needed. I will never use another video to help me join my ends.
Thank you so much! I always dread joining binding because I have to rip out several times before I get it right. It worked the first time with your method!
I am the world's worst binder. Right now I am binding Annie's (free pattern) Easy Does it and your hack is marvelous. Thanks to all the By Annie Facebook members who have mentioned this hack!
I learned this method from another video and it’s the best method I’ve seen. I liked your tip about pulling the binding, I usually cut it just a little bit shorter. Thank you 😊
Wow this is really helpful to me. I am intimated by bias binding and afraid it's not going to work out. This video put me at ease. I think i can do this. Thank you so much Randi! 👍🙌😘
This video is very useful. I have found it very helpful. 9:16 You’ve explained it very well. Your mountain reference is extremely helpful too. Thank you very much!
Thanks, Randi! Ditto what Annebrassell4230 said below. Very well done and detailed! I especially like the rotating of the ends. I always have to double check myself and 50% of the time I'm wrong. I will still double check myself before cutting off the 'mountain tip' but now I plan on having a 99.9% success rate. Thanks!! I've also heard it described as a pair of pants and you want to sew across the waist.
This was really great. I really get confused when I sew the ends together. I really enjoyed your analogies. Can you tell me is it the same if you’re not using bias binding. I usually measure on one side leaving an overlap the same as the width of the binding… which is actually the same measurement as yours you just 1/2ed it. Thanks in advance
I never use bias binding except when I have scalloped edges or rounded corners. On a regular square quilt, placemat, etc. I have never stretched non-bias binding - in fact I go to great lengths to make sure it isn’t stretched! Even in your video you can see that when you attach it back to the quilt, it’s going to pull in the quilt as it goes back to its original shape. You are the only one I have ever seen that purposely stretches the binding so please teach an old dog a new trick and tell us what is the advantage? Thank you.
I’m making the A place for Everything. I am short (20”) the 24” square fabric needed to make the bias binding but I found some extra bias strip from another project. I need to know how long a piece I need in total.
Once again this is a great technique. Question, on the Clam binding hack you say that’s the only time you will say to iron bias binding. Do you iron the bias binding for quilts? Thx ❤
Hello Randi! I’m sorry to have to ask you this question on your channel however I couldn’t find you any other way😩 since you are familiar with the Annie patterns and are so talented, I am really stuck on her Travel Essentials 2.0. I posted my problem I’m having today looking for anyone who may be able to help me so far to no avail. If you can find the post from Tami Roberts (me) could you help me in any way? I would be very great full if you could. Im unable to continue with my project until I get further instructions. Thank you Randi❣️
