And i wanted to know how serious is the eye sight regulations for aw , i honestly have pretty bad eye sight but its correctable to 20/20 using lens or contacts
+Robert Lang You need pretty good eye sight. Don't get me wrong there are people with glasses, but you have to go through special physical at bootcamp. I'm sure they will tell you at MEPS
+masked mayhem Gaming at MEPS or just after you're in training? You can wait at MEPS, If they try to get you to pick a job you don't want, tell them you'll wait. Like if you wanted aircrew, the job you pick at mess would be Aircrew. After you go through bootcamp and Aircrew school, they'll choose for you. Do you get what I mean?
No, they don't depending on what happens if you can pick your job the day after you take the test, and swear in. You can Google it and see... but really you wont find out until the classifier says ok we have these jobs lied up, which one do you want. Kinda sucks.. but you shoudlve have told your recruiter what jobs you kind of wanted to do.. so they might help with that.
Damiel Rhodes II quick question, I ship out April 1 2015 , I had an AIRR contract but then denied because of my uncorrected vision so I revert back to AM , do you apply for aircrew in basic ? how does that work
I was offered at MEPs. in bootcamp you don't apply for anything. All you do in bootcamp is go to medical and dental again. When people get ready to pick a job, they can tell the classifier they want to come back on a different day and pick a job.
i ship for basic in two weeks. and i already have the airc rate but im worried about naccs. i know my strokes, i can tread and float no problem, but when it actually comes down to the strokes my endurance isnt the best and neither is my technique. i guess my biggest question is will the give me a chance to work on my swim before they drop me at naccs
im at NACCS right now. dont worry if you dont pass the initial swim qual , they put you on swim hold and you will swim twice a day everyday until you are ready to class.
Lil J there are different subject in the asvab and determining on how you score in those certain subject will determine what jobs you qualify for. It’s not based on if you got a 99 or a 45
Check out this link below, it might help you. It says an average of 18 weeks at "A" school to get the basic skills in Naval Aviation. Hope this helps you get a better idea. www.navy.com/careers/special-operations/air-rescue.html#ft-training-&-advancement
