It's been almost a year without an update to the iceberg series. It's cold. My lips are frostbitten. My fingers tingled numb. I can't feel anything anymore. All I do is wait. wait... For Jojo’s Bizarre Iceberg (FUN FACTS and TRIVIA) (Part 4 of 4)
I could never have imagined a world in which I heard Salty talk about Kakyoin's intimate relationship with Jotaro the Horse. This may or may not be a worse piece of knowledge than The Aristocrats Joke
@@lukethemankey3522yeah its a style of joke where you list off the most heinous shit and then say who would do that, and respond by saying 'the aristocrats' example 'who would kill and r*p* a puppy and its owner?' 'the aristocrats' its a style of joke that is not that funny, edgy and dark for the sake of being edgy and dark, and is honestly bad
Not sorry for writing the line “Chug jug with Dio” into this script, nor for referencing Higurashi, NOR FOR THE EMERALD SPLASH PUN. It’s what I deserve after the horse.
I understand, just hearing about the horse did more damage to my already fading sanity. So it must have been worse knowing what the hell went on there.
On the localization name front: I actually really and unironically like Shining Diamond as a localization for Crazy Diamond, since it still references Shine On You Crazy Diamond, but with more legal deniability. If there were other localization names that work like that I'd be happy.
@@Snavels .....for the longest time I thought it was Sea Moon, y'know, as part of taking everything Jotaro loves and ruining it (in this case, large bodies of water and celestial objects).
@@neoqwerty before the stone ocean anime came out, I thought they were gonna localize C Moon to Sea Moon since it would actually make since, I dont mind See Moon, but Sea Moon would make a little more sense
Also, as part of the finale, part of the scenery is that the sea is being affected by time speedup, being tempestuous and dangerous. The sea is one of the things more obviously affected by the moon’s gravity, making it a fun bonus.
god bless marcie for both the best emerald splash joke and accidentally walking into the steamy thralls of horsetaro and kakyoin for the entertainment of us all
man i fucking love this iceberg. the more and more we dive into it the more little details that start to pop up that i genuinely don't know despite spending so much of my life in the fandom. that's why these sorts of vids are needed, they let everyone know all these stupid minor interesting things. hearing the indepth details on things i already know is super fun too!
What's funny to me about them replacing the dogs with rats is that it completely destroys what Araki was going for. Araki is a huge dog lover, so any time a dog is killed, it's to make the reader go "That villain is a sick bastard for killing a dog!!" It was never meant to punish the dogs for being dogs, but rather to show how inhumane and heartless the villains are.
I'm so glad you also agree that the person that saved Josuke and his mom was a stranger. I came into part 4 without the context of the timey wimy confusions that the fandom was talking about. (Cause fandoms are frankly tiring) And so that part touched me when I saw it. I thought the same thing- not that he was a good Samaritan, that's the whitest way to put it; but to show that kindness and humanity can manifest in anyone, humans are inherently kind to each other. OR at least most want to be, is a twist on a meanspirited delinquent. YES! I agree! Again thanks for having a similar stance, I think it adds to so much more interesting story telling than just having Josuke come save himself from a convoluted time/space scenario. Also nice on you for having woolie in one of these, man's a great person to have here and just great in general.
Ok, ok, for those who are curious about Girls at Night... It's basically, from what I can understand, a NSFW Jolyne and Ermes doujinshi. I OF COURSE did not read it, but I remember seeing some of the tamer panels, in which it's drawn in a somewhat cartoonish style. I actually do have a theory that this doujinshi is one of the reasons the Fujiko one-shot released alongside CDDH's first chapter was so controversial: they do use similar styles, and people just associated it with the porn comic. But this is just my theory on the situation.
i skimmed through the first 4 pages and it starts at the opening scene of stone ocean (you can infer exactly what scene i mean here) except they're both in the same cell i am immune to the horrors although i've personally never found a jojo character to be that attractive i mostly find them to be cool but whatever it sure is a thing that exists and the artist who made it is talented it really isnt the worst thing out there at least from what i have looked at at least it's yuri 👍 (although not as ethereal in the mental state it doesnt quite have the lesbian mind spells but ig it counts idk, im just wondering who buys these physically like ig people bought magazines of stuff like this before internet but do these still get physical releases? im pretty sure they do but like who is collecting this stuff)
49:37 "Shoutout to the 12 year old who shouldn't be watching my content" I'm way older than 12 but that got me wheezing ngl I just realized I was like 9 when my brother convinced me to watch Jojo and I got scarred for life during that one scene where that german starts shouting "I CAN'T SEE! PLEASE DON'T LEAVE ME HERE ALONE" and then graphically explodes
Mikitaka being Kars is a theory I want to be plausible SO bad but Kars can only transform into organic things while Mikitaka can only turn into inorganic things
Salty you probably don't know, but back when the PS2 was released, Prince's lawyers, who are VERY sue heavy, tried to sue the game when an North America version was confirmed, which canceled the North America version of it. So maybe the name changes started there. Prince lawyers are still mega sue happy.
I actually do know about that rumor, but sadly it’s just that (a rumor). I don’t want to be rude at all, but there’s a lot of “fun facts” that float around the Jojo fandom that aren’t actually accurate. Trust me, if that was true and wasn’t just brought up by a random person on Reddit first, it would be on here! But I’ve double checked a lot of stuff for sources and there usually isn’t any. I’m guilty of accidentally spreading stuff like it was true as well, just how the internet works sometimes I guess 💀
@@Saltydkdan Of course, I understand. Although a North American version was planned but never released, and that's weird. Almost all "rumors" sometimes have a grain of truth in them (like the Prince's lawyers suing heavily, this is actually true) but I understand if this is a rumour, but it's not as far-fetched as it sounds, because Heredictage for the Future was released without any problems, and this game has no references to Prince in it. Hopefully there's a real reason why the western release of the game was cancelled, because the truth is probably out there. :P
When you were talking about sticky fingers and the inspiration for the stand, my first thought was “ok what did they change the name to, zipper man?” And then it turned out that i was exactly right on the first try, did not even have to think
on localization, I would like to point out that Sky High was changed to Sky Guy which is absolutely hilarious. When I saw this I was laughing s loud, good times. and since you've inspired me, here is one idea for a stand named after other manga Chainsaw Man - think of enigma but instead of it putting you in paper when you show fear, instead it just activates the user's ability which looks similar to the chainsaw hybrid vagabond - the stand activates when someone is away from any other human life for a 2 kilometer radius. The stand would lock onto the alone person and just stalk them in the shadows. Instead of having like an action packed fight we'd just see someone stumbling around in the darkness trying to deal with paranoia, all the while it lurks in the backgrounds. This would translate really well to the manga format 1:06:04 heirophant GREEN!
Regardless of whether or not you care about the localized, I think that we can all agree that Heritage for the Future and the Stone Ocean anime had some of the best (and sometimes, hilarious) name changes Some names like "Robber Soul", "N-Yah", "Ken-E-Gee" or "Drake's Dream" may look somewhat bizarre, but others like "Captain Teneil", "D'Bo", "Mary Lynn Manson", "Savage Guardian", "Limp Viscuit" or "Maiden Heaven" are a clever way to flip off a possible copyright infringement
I had a lot of problems with the Stone Ocean anime (that I mainly blame the Netflix acquisition for), but the name localizations were on point. "Smack" is such a good play on "Kiss". Just wish they found something better than "Stone Ocean" for Stone Free. Why would she name it after her idea of the prison?
The Phantom Blood PS2 trivia is wrong unfortunatelly. From the movie cast only Dio, Zeppeli and George Joestar retained their voice actors; and in Dio's case, there's a caveat as the voice actors for JoJo and Dio change from their pre-teen forms to adulthood (the movie actor only voicing Dio when he's already 18). There is, however, an exclusive trailer for Phantom Blood in the PS2 game in which they utilize some footage from the unearthed Test Pilot
To be specific, the trailer wasn't included in the game itself, but rather in a "25th Anniversary" pre-order bonus disc. The 2004 test pilot, which actually was unearthed and posted to RU-vid a few years ago, doesn't share any animation with any version of the film, since it was essentially just a proof-of-concept before the film began development proper.
The "No Abandon" message reads "NO断念!!" (no dan'nen) which I feel would be better translated to "NO giving up!!". I'm not sure which chapter that was featured on but I'm sure that makes more sense than "No Abandon". The inclusion of the English "NO" is still pretty wild lmao
I'm so happy these videos exist. I didn't get into JoJo fandom until after Golden Requiem was released. Decided to give it a shot on Netflix one day and NEVER looked back. Would love to shake Araki's hand one day for making such an amazing series 😊
My favourite actual name change is J Geil into Centerfold. It's just a BETTER NAME. J Geil's character feels inspired more by Centerfold than any other song by the artist, it's a cool fucking name, it has loose references to Centerfold creeping on and killing girls, the poppy tone of the song overlaid the kind of pervy and oddly sinister lyrics is a great reflection of how Araki likes to do the "hoho so silly design" paired with "this thing is the stuff of actual nightmares."
the fact that the cover for the Horsetaro Horsestar (or KuHorse??? Maybe KuHorse makes more sense) doujin has Kakoyoin with his ass sticking out and exaggerated killed me
Today Is My Birthday! Very cool coincidence that this video also came out today. Haven't Finished the Video Yet but it's very good so far. Love this Series!
Ive been ill for the past week, almost unable to watch content because of a mirgane, but I'll be dammned if i dont watch the salty dk dan 3rd part out of like an 8 hour jojo bizzare adventures iceberg 🤤
Why Girls By Night in particular? What separates it from the billions of other Hentai that made it worth mentioning? (I know what its about for the record)
ok, so you didnt elaborate on the "porn" one because it was "not safe for work", but you elaborated on the horse jotaro doujin. why? why did you subject us into this torture? i was eating, my brother, why?
ok here's my attempt at creating a stand named Dragon Ball Dragon Ball is a humanoid stand with a cavity in its chest. As physical damage is dealt to the user or by the user, a small orb will grow inside the cavity. Once the orb reaches its fullest possible size, it will glow softly, marking that it is ready to be utilised. If the orb is consumed, all of the eater's wounds will be instantly healed, as the missing flesh is replaced by a pink gummy substance. Anything that comes in contact with this substance is instantly bounced off, turning it into a sort of "ultimate shield" that can never be touched. The substance will slowly lose this effect and transform into normal flesh over time.
