Dio: "I can't hear any breathing or the faintest sound of a heartbeat but there seems to be an egregious amount of sweating pouring from Jotaro's face. These Joestars always died in ridiculous fashion."
lol. But srly this shows just how good villain Dio is, normally the bad guy leaves the hero at their doom instead making sure he's dead thus allowing him to come back and destroying them.
Most punches from stands sound like gunshots. Star Platinum sounds like a shotgun The World sounds like an assault rifle of some kind and Crazy Diamond sounds like a pistol or sniper with a silencer.
@@juvenalromero6306 yes, but in DIU because of the color difference we can clearly see that the hat is half-ripped, ngl i wonder what Jotaro with unripped hat would look like
@@minorcomet282 in the scene in diu where jotaro tells josuke to give a cool one-liner, you can see that his hat isnt ripped...it's probably just an animation error but it's still worth pointing out
Prototype 中國 the smug Jotaro you are talking about the guy who started ripping pieces of flesh of his head after sucking up the blood of his great nephew. He's obviously bat shit crazy.
Maybe he's talking to an imaginary Jonathan. 100 years in a coffin below the sea with the body of the person who was basically your brother isn't good for the mind.
I absolutely love at 1:30 where Dio tries to panic stop time, but forgets at the most crucial moment that he isn't alone in his world of stopped time. The act was utterly futile. Star Platinum blasting through stopped time to land the hardest punch in the anime is very satisfying.
@@morgansboobies GER straight up killed Diavolo, and while Diavolo wouldnt survive this from SP i am pretty sure his skull looked somewhat like this too after the final punch from GER
@well he said he was going to pass out and if he did there's not much he could've done to not die but if he did start pumping dio probably would've avoided close contact and found another way to kill him so yes he probably would've died probably
*Jotaro Proceeds to neglect it and doesn't develop it for a whole 10 year until he has to fight some dude in his 30s with white hair and a boxing pink cat that turns everything it touches into a bomb*
@@bioshockcu I meant his battle with Kayneth, not Kirei, he didn't have avalon with him at that time and used Time Alter to slow his heartbeat to almost nothing
Jotaro’s body might have died, but his soul would continue to act through SP. So Dio would see Jotaro’s angry Stand even though Jotaro’s body was dead already. That’s a bit terrifying.
so dio checked jotaro's breathing for only 5 seconds, as if regular person would not be able to hold their breath for 5 seconds, but decided to check his heartbeat for like whole 40 seconds, as if regular human would stop their heartbeat for 40 seconds.
Maher Noorhussein Also, the blow cut his torso and head in half. It just started on his leg. His stand also broke, and if a stand takes damage, it user does too.
To be fair, he made sure that Jotaro was dead and after he was convinced from not being able to hear his heartbeat, he was like "Nah, lemme just make sure he's dead".
it takes 500 pounds of force to shatter a human skull, and dios is stronger than normal. just imagine the sheer amount of pure power went into that single punch.
Usual Anime Protagonist's thoughts during a battle: "I'm going to get revenge for...!/If I don't beat him here all my friends will die" Jotaro's thoughts: "This sucks...this guy is so annoying damn..."
"So Josuke, have I ever told you the time when I technically killed myself with my stand? What happened after you ask?" "I resurrected myself with my stand the same way I died, and then proceeded to destroy a 100 years old British vampire's skull. Oh by the way, all of these happened in Egypt while you were still playing with your shit."
to be fair, Josuke was sick just like Jotaro's mother and he wasn't saved until DIO got killed. Jotaro mentioned that Josuke was sick in part 4. So being rude to Josuke is not an option
Not quite correct there. Jotaro 'commands' his stand to still his heart. His stand has the tendency of Self-preservation(as seen in bullet to head scene). So the stand would allow him to only pass out, but not die. SP can still disobey jotaro's commands if it is suicidal.
***** Uhm no, Vanilla Ice didn't kill himself; Polnareff did. Vanilla Ice lets his stand swallow him to active his black hole ability, that's how his stand works. After he's done, he comes out of his stand's mouth just fine.
The fact that he still felt the need to do the whole "toki wo tomare" spiel while SP's fist was headed right towards his face is kind of admirable, really. Say what you want about Dio, he is committed to his drama.
1:23 The pure RAGE in Star Platinum’s face is the best part about this scene. In most of Jotaro’s fights, he gets mad (It’s never really that much) but in this one you can literally SEE his hatred for Dio. I love it
@T-T it take an insane amount of energy for that when jotaro had absorbed a whole lot of damage from sheer heart attack but hey definitely worth it since that may be a unique way to know however it would be almost unhealable by dr aya so i mean like its just some bizzare brain surgery to.
@T-T yeah definitely my dumbass forgot kira wont be awake for him to remember what happened but still prefer the actual ending but that is good justice to. 😭😭😭😂😂😂
Yeah. The name of the ability is Time Stop, but the name of the Stand is called The World. A lot of people forget that. Even the mangaka apparently, because Jotaro calls his own version of the Time Stop, "The World".
@@GhostGuy99 there's a second meaning on why Jotaro says "The World" when he stops time, i think it's a headcannon tho, anyways, it is some sort of trigger for Star Platinum to stop time unconsciouslly upon hearing his worst enemy stand's name being yelled
@@GhostGuy99 Jotaro never said "The World", however he has said "Star Platinum : The World", which is the name of his ability in part 4, where he upgraded Star Platinum using DIO's blood
@@Lyothere "where he upgraded star platinum using dio's blood" what are you talking about?? There's no mention of that anywhere. Part 4 star platinum is literally a worse version of part 3 star platinum
Part of this scene I love is exactly is 1:27 - Dio instinctively uses The World time stop ability because of danger that was Star Platinum punch, but due to nature of that reaction he forgets about simple thing. Jotaro also can move in frozen time due to Star Platinum also having time stop ability. Uselessness of time stop to evade that punch is just wonderful
He was probably hoping Jotaro would stop moving and have to take a second to start moving again, giving him enough time to move out of the way. His error is underestimating Jotaro's tenacity. Star Platinum was moving that fist with such momentum that it was going to cut right through a time stop without stopping.
Exactly, it really hammers home that DIO is royally fucked. When he uses the world to stop time that’s usually his safe space or that’s usually when he stops and analyzes the situation, Jotaro shitting all over that sense of security was extremely well choreographed.
I don’t know what’s funnier, the fact DIO’s brain went high alert by the mere movement of Jotaro’s fingers and his excessive measures just to ensure Jotaro was dead or the fact it wasn’t enough, DIO pulled out EVERYTHING in his safety measure booklet and it wasn’t enough.
Imagine being DIO in that moment. You don’t hear his heart beat for forty-fucking-seconds, and when you go over just to be triple sure, he punches your fucking skull in
Imagine a 100-year-old vampire that is egregiously evil and ruthless not even approaching a 17-year-old boy (who just ditched school to save his mother) that may or may not be dead just because you're so terrified of him and his bada**ery.
Imagine a 17 year old kid has more will power ( stand stats, since stand is fighting spirit ) than a 100 y.o vampire who was better than anyone his whole life. Damn
Guys, just realized the writing here is more brilliant than I thought. Jotaro actually USES 2 of Star Platinum's abilities: its "Precision" combined with "Self-Preservation"(foreshadowed in first scene when he shoots himself in the head) to his advantage. He commands Star Platinum(being semi-sentient) to stop his heart, knowing it would work. Why? because going into coma or temporary heartstop isn't complete "death," and not having to worry that SP would dissipate. SP allows Jotaro to 'pass out' up until that very last second before 'death.' During this time, while its actions are limited(due to no commands from the user) acts of self-preservation is still possible. That, along with surgical skill( shown in kakyoin scene), and sense of Precision, knows EXACTLY how long its user can stay in that state. Whats interesting is that with precision, it TIMES this with Dio's attack - the same way it catches the bullet we saw back in first episode. The writing here seems ridiculous at first, seeing how it fits the stand's abilities, and the foreshadowing back in the jail, its genius.
Jotaro fighting other villains: broken bones, bleeding, bruising, hospitalized for several months. Jotaro fighting DIO: Smashed skull, holes in body, head in frailed pieces. Difference is..... *He really pissed him off*
1:28 When you're watching a horror game on RU-vid and you try to pause the video before a jumpscare that you feel it's coming but you accidentally miss the pause button.
Jojo: "I need to play dead so I can kick his ass." Dio: "hmmm, I think he is dead. He isn't moving... is he breathing?" Jojo: *holds breath.* Dio: "no... what about his heartbeat?" Jojo: *star platinum stops the heart* Dio: "hmmm, I think he is dead... OH YEAH, when people die they shit and piss themselves. Why do I not smell shit?" Jojo: "good grief" *star platinum squeeze his blader and intestines and shits/pisses himself* Dio: "he is definitely dead. I should chop his head off to be 100% sure."
(1:23) I wanna take a moment to appreciate how angry Star Platinum looks. This was what I was looking for in Jotaro's stand, a wild beast of a spirit that he had to learn to control.
Maybe the DIO that managed to win against Jotaro in 'Eyes of Heaven' simply waited, listening with his ear to the ground until the latter actually did die from stopping his heart.
He killed all the Joestars by being careful and not an egotistical prick. Jonathan: He popped his vein as soon as he had his hand in his neck, rather than saying he didn't want to turn him into a servant. (Would've ended the whole series right there.) Joseph: Throw MORE knives into him. Jotaro: Made his heart stop for long enough that Star Platinum goes "Nah, this ain't cool", then uses The World to freeze time and punch his shit in.
Used The World to finish him off instead of a street sign like a freaking idiot. Star Platinum tries to resist but, once he stops time and Jotaro's no longer able to move, punch through the torso.
No. Considering that Dio didn't know that Star Platinum had the same abilities as the World, it means that Jotaro got killed before he discovered that Jotaro could stop time.
@@VGamingJunkieVT it's either that he's so confident in himself or that he want to chop off Jotaro's head because Za Warudo's fist isn't enough to chop things.. It's for blowing things.
Out of this whole sequence of events, the part that made me squirm the most was the visual of Star Platinum stopping Jotaro's heart. Like, can you imagine how that must feel, having something literally grab your heart, just enough that it stops pumping blood no less? And Jotaro didn't so much as twitch. What a lad.
Even worse for Jotaro: Star Platinum automatically protects him, so he's forcing his own self preservation instinct/fighting spirit to hurt himself and risk his own life for that skull crushing punch.
1:20 This. This right fucking here is one of the greatest "what" deliveries ever. As a matter of fact, a lot of them come from JoJo alone. And it's not even in English. I think the other fucking amazing one from JoJo is from Joseph when N'Doul's Stand first appears and kills the S.P.W. Foundation member. NANI?
I would say the best "What?!" delivery is as DIO discovers that being called "DIO" does not make you exempt from getting your shit punched in so hard that you blow up.
I love that detail. You almost get the feeling that Dio has read the comic books where the hero survives because the villain overconfidently assumes they're dead because "nobody could survive that!". And ironically, it's his paranoid determination to make sure Jotaro was really dead that screws Dio over, whereas if he'd just walked away and gone after Polnareff instead Jotaro wouldn't have been able to get close enough to ambush him like that.
Looking at this scene I can’t help but remember how the narrator described Iggy’s final move to protect Polnareff. “Iggy’s soul had moved on its own. It had no choice but to move.”
Jotaro: "It won't even be funny... If I die because I used my stand to stop my own heart..." Me: *giggling at the thought of that* No, seriously, I actually kinda laughed when he said this. He and the crusaders go through all that fucking work to destroy like 20 stand users and then Jotaro dies because he killed himself with his own stand. Imagine lmao
Ngl, I would have laughed too, Jotaro has survived everything DIO threw at him from the literal sun to a fucking Skyscraper and the one thing that actually kills Jotaro is him stopping his heart.
I kept waiting for Dio to use his space ripper stingy eyes in in Stardust Crusaders and was a bit disappointed that he never did. Even if it didn't amount to anything (like Joseph's use of hamon) it would've been a nice call-back.
@@dark7element well I think it's kind of disappointing as well, but it makes sense, I mean he hasn't trained for 100 years stuck in the middle of the ocean in a cramped coffin where you can barely move as it was made to be the exact same shape of a person, and the fact that he uses his stand and relies on it way more than his vampire powers. So I mean, how would he even remember how to do it?
