Spoiler free Jojo for you: Jojo follows the story of members of a family called Joestar that also have names starting with Jo (hints the name Jojo) like Jonathan Joestar, Joseph Joestar, Jotaro etc. Every time they change parts(the show is divided in parts,some take more than a season),they change the protagonist (jojo of the part) and usually one jojo is the grandson of another. Also the show get's more random as time goes on,starting really close to Fist of the North Star and gradually getting more unique. In Japan it's one of the most if not the most best selling manga of all time an ppl on the internet like to say that "everything it's a jojo reference" since it's so widespread that you can find many references to the show and manga all around the anime industry. Some marks of a jojo reference may be: Extravagant Poses,Hiragana(sound letters) on the screen, changes in color palletes and iconic frases(wich I will not tell you for spoilers reasons). Also most characters are named after a song/band/band member, similar to how rwby characters have a color and a fairy tale.

I can also add, each generation are based from a type of serie. Part 1 is close to Dracula, part 2 and 3 is Indiana Jones, part 4 Columbo, part 5 is mafia, etc. There’s a lot of pop culture references, same for the poses of the characters and also the author had an exposition at the Louvre one time. (Sorry for my english)

Definitely THE most influencial manga series in history if you ask me, anybody who loves manga and anime owes themselves to check it out... but sales wise I'm afraid nothing can beat the monster that is One Piece. Still, it's around 100Mil sales, vs OP's 400+ so nothing to scoff at

Believe it or not, his design was originally based on Polnareff and was supposed to have his hair style but the sprite artist decided to flatten it out one day as a joke. Everyone thought it was hilarious enough to keep because it made him look like Stroheim instead. His name was also based on J. Geil i.e Polnareff's arch-nemesis.

please overthink, the character are way deeper than you can tell at first sight, like Dio, so is the storytelling skills of Araki like *SPOILER PART 2* Making the presentation card of Joseph, the scene where he defends a black kid from 2 racist cops, so we see he doesn't is nor tolerate racism, that gives Araki White card for Joseph to being (for the needs of the circunstances) JoJobro with a nazi without being accussed of being a nazi sympathizer, who by the way, while it's still clear he's a nazi son of the bitch, is shown as something more than Satan walking on earth

To explain Jojo's. It's broken up into "Parts". So you will follow the story of Jonathan Joestar, but when his part is over a new part will begin, and you'll meet a new Jojo, new characters, and see some previous characters in a later part of their life. Every part has it's own identity, and even it's own genre. There are 8 parts in the comic books. Part 1 : Phantom Blood (1880s Gothic Horror) Part 2 : Battle Tendency (1930s Globe Trotting Adventure) Part 3 : Stardust Crusaders (1980s Roadtrip movie through Asia and the middle east) Part 4 : Diamond Is Unbreakable (1990s Surreal Mystery) Part 5 : Golden Wind (2000s Gangster Movie) Part 6 : Stone Ocean (2000s Jailbreak/Escape Movie) Part 7 : Steel Ball Run (1880s Amazing Race Movie) Part 8 : Jojolion (1990s Surreal Mystery Rehash) Every part has it's own art style, and identity, but they're all tied together by having a Jojo as one of the main characters, and by the way Araki writes the series. Araki is a man who isn't afraid to let himself be inspired by what he sees around him. So he may see something like Twin Peaks on TV and say "I wanna make part 4 a surreal mystery in a small town". I'd call it the Araki Method, and honestly it makes the series feel honest, or wholesome in some way, how he takes real life and makes it into stories, with his own spin.

i mean this is not entirely true. The events of part 1 are given away at the beginning of part 3, also part 2 has nothing to do with the rest of the story. Part 3 to 4 is the only time you NEED to watch in sequence and that opens up part 5 and 6 to be watched/read in any order you want. Part 7 can be read when ever you want since it has no connection to the rest of the series save for part 8. That being said watching in order is probably the best way to understand the series, with a few exceptions based on the person you are recommending it to (in some cases its better to start people off with part 3 and then have them go back to 1-2 once they are hook).

So if you want to know what this show is about, it all starts in the late Victorian era of England... *12 hours later* And Part 8 doesn’t have a main villain yet even though there’s over 80 chapters of it already. Go watch the show, it’s absolutely amazing and a great ride to go through. Parts 1-5 (Phantom Blood, Battle Tendency, Stardust Crusaders, Diamond is Unbreakable, and Golden Wind) are currently or currently being animated while Parts 6 7 and 8 (Stone Ocean, Steel Ball Run, and Jojolion) are manga only at the moment while Jojolion is currently being written. There’s lots of stuff and plot and it’s all great, while having it’s highs and lows. I’m having trouble explaining this without explaining anything because it’s really a show that one has to see for themselves.

Yeah, for having no context and having a LOT of information to have to pick apart from the intros' narratives, he actually wasn't that far off with a lot of his guesses. Also, people need to calm down about him watching the final intro to Traitor's Requiem, for him it's basically gonna be the same experience except for the last 10 seconds, and really I think it'd just spoil the impact of what he's going to be in for. Hey I loved this reaction a lot. You give very honest reactions/commentary. I would enjoy seeing you react to the endings for JoJo’s. You will see 2 in the middle that will seem a bit off but those were one offs.
