I worked for one of the 'dollar' chains and we used to receive so much JoJo product: journals, cups, hair bows, etc. The aggressive marketing annoyed me; even though her teenage look wasn't obnoxious, her persona definitely seemed to be and I knew that millions of girls wanted to look and act like her. But she inevitably aged out of that wide-eyed-in-a-bow-tie look, and I don't know what to make of this new one, or who would even want to emulate it.

Guys, sheeee didn't really have a childhood she was forced to wear all the pink and glitter and stuff. Why is it that in kids/Disney Hollywood “moving into an adult era”, always _has_ to mean a drastic bad girl/boy transition. I don’t find being an “adult” synonymous with being a bad person at all… Particularly, one with over-sexualisation, drug usage, legal charges, alternative and extreme lifestyle choices and dress choices, i.e. when Miley Cyrus, Britney, Christina, Taylor, Justin Bieber etc. had their Disney/kids era to adult era transitions. Why is THIS always what becoming an adult is meant to be in Hollywood?! Yes, some adults may be like this or some may even dress/behave alternatively while still contributing to society in a meaningful manner but I feel the vast majority of the public would agree that the general concept of becoming an adult is not related to what Hollywood portrays.

Americans don’t know about celebrities in other countries, but in Brasil Xuxa was a children’s entertainer for many years. Jojo Siwa had most kids following her. She had the merch, show and all.
