My new, half joke, headcanon is that Jodio didn´t came up with "Mechanism", he just read it in Pink Dark Boy and made it his life philosophy, hence the respect for Rohan.
Another likely explanation is that the narration in the opening chapter is a flashback, and his philosophy of "mechanism" came from his interaction with Rohan this chapter
What if the term of getting "filthy rich" is some kind of macguffin similar to the stand arrow, and Jodio getting Filthy Rich is his stand upgrade? November Rain Filthy Rich? Or something? It's just weird that they keep referring to Jodio getting not just rich, but it's always Filthy Rich. That or the diamond itself is a stand that draws material wealth to it called Filthy Rich, and it's similar to that arc in JJL with Joshu and the money
i think it's less the diamond that has a power and it's the lava rocks that literally draw wealth towards them. that's why the diamond and the money were drawn toward rohan and away from the others and why it'll make jodio filthy rich. volcano stand
I think what's most interesting is the mcguffin is firmly in the grasp of the jojo this time around. Which means that regardless of status, the villain will be the underdog. I think it'd be interesting, as anyone going after it would probably have to be just as ambitious as jodio. It'd be cool to get a villain who's incredibly similar to the jojo.
So I don't think the diamond has any actual powers and it was the lava rock causing it to be unstealable making it "come back" like with the money Paco stole as once Jodio is given the lava rock suddenly the diamond is stealable and Usagi has a valuable Pink Dark Boy picture. the lava rocks seem to attract wealth to it's owner
So maybe I'm reading into things too much, but I noticed that every time the diamond teleported, it's because it was in an enclosed space (Paco's backpack, Dragona's hands, Dragona's bag), and when it's taken by Paco at the end, he's carrying it one-handed. It's possible that's a part of the _ahem_ "mechanism" behind this ability
The diamond reminds you of the Holy Corpse, huh? I just remembered that in Part 7 we were told the corpse is replaced with a bunch of diamonds in alternate dimensions as a way of selling us on its uniqueness. What if that little correlation becomes more relevant than we thought?
Yo can I read this without reading 7 and 8? It will be a looong time but I'm willing to wait for anime adaptaptions for those. This part might go on for like 10 years as a manga though
The manga is still going on so we are not sure how much this part would connect to previous part but if you read this part you will get spoiled about the bloodline from this new verse but apart from that you should be good
