A man who was loyal to his wife when the going was good, would be taken care of by his wife when things change. Men, take note. You cannot expect to reap what you didn't sow.
I grew up through the years looking up to this couple. The bond they share is so strong that it hits you as pure each time you see them. As strong as Joke is you need not be told the pain she feels as her husband slips gradually. Even in her smile her body language, watch her legs etc. It got to me. Words could not carry the message. I pray for comfort for your husband and strength for you and the rest of the family, God bless you for all you been to generations of Nigerians and the world.
This is how a woman who was properly loved talks. In my eyes they deserves a standing ovation for setting such a wonderful example of how marriage should be. Watching their marriage has been so satisfying. God strength you Ma. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
God bless her, you can see she's uncomfortable discussing her husband living with the disease. However, l applaud her for creating awareness of dementia in Nigeria because lots of families are going through this but have no idea that their parents or grandparents are suffering from it.
Old people have suffered dementia since year dot 🙄 It's called old age dementia/ senile dementia for a reason. Nigerians are simply becoming aware of the name of the condition. The condition itself isn't new
I understand what she is going through watched my dad struggled with Dementia till he died, it such an emotional experience. I pray God grant her and the family the strength to care for him.
The same thing happened to my father, I cried when he was unable to sign his own signature. It was very terrible. So I can perfectly relate. I ask for God's strength to Mama Joke!
When I saw him during that award ceremony I immediately knew he had dementia due to his marked confused state. Bless him! These are the cohort of people that I work with in my job daily and it is not an easy diagnosis but there is life even with and after dementia. It is a brave move on her and her family's part to bring awareness to this disease. 🥺
Absolutely..I have worked a greater part of my career with dementia patients and I totally relate and appreciate Joke Silva's struggles. Its a degenerative disease that needs lots of care, love and empathy from family to manage.
God bless mama Joke Sylvia. She’s got a radient smile🥰 we won’t neglect the fact that behind the smile there’s a shadow of sadness that at this level, anything can happen to her husband. I shed tears when I saw him at the awards... God keep him much longer for his beloved wife and family 🥺🥺
Can we just appreciate how beautiful Mama Joke is. Smiling even as she narrates all that she has had to endure. Sending strength and love her way and the way of anyone going through life’s travails.
Dear Mrs Jacobs, you are such an inspiration to many - a caring wife, loving mother and sister, a great actor.... I have always looked up to you and I pray that God willl continue to renew your strength 🙏
You are a woman of courage, you love with a passion. You are a rare gem. Your marriage is a fusion of two beautiful Souls. Uncle Olu Jacobs has been my favourite way back. The Lord is your strength through it all. Keep being strong. Much love sis.
I had PTSD watching Mr Olu at the award event it brought back painful memories, I had to quit my Job to come look after my dad who had dementia, my dad couldn't walk or get up from d bed my mum, my sis and i had to do everything for him from feeding to changing of his diapers, he had no one but us, imagine seeing someone who was so active becoming so helpless it was and still an emotional trauma to me. There were things we wished we could discuss with him but he was absent yet alive. I cried everyday i entered his room to do something for him till d day he died. Mr Olu needs all the love and care he can get,may God strengthen d family both emotionally and physically and also shoutout to families who are experiencing or have experienced this phase
It's not easy at all. Worked in respite care for clients with dementia and I truly applaud you and your entire family supporting your dad. May you all be blessed and comforted!
I pray the Lord heals your heart. But one thing I know is that the blessings for what you did will always leave you speechless. God will bless you and bless you and bless you. My parents have also passed away but I didn’t experience this with them and with my mom, I was terrified at a point that this might happen. I remember my panic when I spoke to her once and she sounded a bit incoherent. I almost stopped breathing. Couldn’t imagine for a second having her and not being able to have a conversation with her. May God bless and comfort and heal you. These experiences are damaging but we trust God for healing ❤️🩹
We thank Gid that she is bringing awareness to this disease that affects a lot if families n ut can be very hard to navigate it. To see a loved one slip away like that unable to remember current affairs God bless their family. They were a great team, very respectable to each other. I hope her story inspires another family going through it.
Joke this brought tears to my eyes because I watched your husband as a child with my dad who was a huge fan of “Olu Jacobs”. My dad died more than 10 years ago from prostate cancer. I wish your husband and our acting godfather nothing but the best because he deserves every bit of it. Please stay strong.
I watched him receive the legendary award, this is exactly what hit my mind. It's a hard time for the family, I know but thanks for the love and care. I've worked with some patients and truly it's not easy
A bundle of Proverbs 31.That is who mama Silva is, I have always looked up to her. God continue to bless you mama, Almighty God will see you and your family through Amen!🙏🏼❤️much love from 🇬🇭
As much as i share in your positive outlook towards olu jacobs' mental decline, Sadly still, we cant wish dementia away, in most cases it progressively worsens, and there is no cure for the ailment.
This woman has such a calming aura about her♥️ I can feel her energy and she’s just a sweet, compassionate soul🥺 God bless her abundantly. I see my mum in her. I’ve noticed in life the sweetest souls take the hardest hits but they always continue striding with such grace, class and optimism♥️
Sorry Joke. Very difficult to see your loved one suffering with dementia. May the Lord continue to bestow the strength you need to support your husband and maintaining self care as well ❤️🙏🏽
I love when she says she's grateful for the moments of clarity. Cherish each moment with your loved ones. We pray for grace and strength for Auntie Joke and the family in this trying time
What a beautiful and brave woman is not easy to care for someone with dementia Olu Jacob is my best actor . May GOD Strengthen your family during this difficult time . We love you

Which 7 people disliked this video? This beats my imagination. Can we just be there for people without negative vibes? Just my thoughts, I stand to be corrected though...
Praying for strength for you and the family and God’s grace and healing for daddy. God is always good and Sovereign over all situations. He will pull him thru.
When she talked about wishing he was still there and not having to go through stuff on her own , ah that hit me. My mom cries all the time looking at my dad saying the same. May God strengthen these faithful wives and reward them beyond measure
Degenerative diseases and idiopathic diseases in general are just a pain to the person and family. I pray God grants you the emotional strength, resilience and rigor to cater for him.
I saw him during the award and it broke my heart ❤️. I love him so much he reminds me of my dad his looks missed him in movies 😔❤. He is loved and surrounded by his family ❤❤❤
I was super teary throughout this video cos I can totally relate. My mum has been suffering from the same thing ever since she lost her husband back in 2019 and she was only 59. I will tell you this, takes a lot from you. Imagine someone you’ve shared a lot of moments with, very vibrant and agile slowly turning into a vegetable. May God strengthen you and the family.
I pray that God continue to give you the strength to continue this difficult journey. Dementia is a very serious disease that takes away the best of your loved one. May God be with you and the family. Mr Olu Jacobs is a Legend! And will always be one. My love and prayers are with you Aunty Joke.
Mama!😍❤️I've always admired this woman but seeing her in this light... it's just amazing!🤯 The strength and joy, regardless of everything she's been through, most inspiring thing I've watched all year.🙇🏾♀️🥺
I watched my dad also struggle with Dementia, diabetes and malnutrition...so I understand it's a type of disease that affects the entire family...may God help you guys.
Great interview and the interviewer was very attentive and showed empathy. Mommy Jacobs we love you so much ma. May God continue to watch over you and your family
Aunty Joke, such a wonderful family you have. God bless you & your family ma and Make His face to shine upon you, heal your husband & grant you peace & favour on every side I read that coconut oil could bring some relief. Some respond well to high quality supplements made from organic food Father God help uncle Jacob overcome this illness, give them the solution they need in Jesus name

I was so sad to hear Olu Jacobs has Dementia. What a legend! Dementia is a horrible disease. A degenerative disase that affects the brain. Let him listen to music 🎵 helps the brain and keeps the brain alive. Aunty Joke be strong and keep the faith.🙏🙏
Ah may God continue giving this family strength. Dementia isn't something common to our African people, they will likely term it witchcraft or some other weird thing. Thank you Chude for putting this out
So what is it? God-craft? All sicknesses are witchcraft, is the Devil not the leader of Witchcraft?. Here God's promise for us: Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. 3 John 1:2 KJV.
