@@nerv2500 Sorry I cant help you as I am in the same predicament! I have watched the Trailer a dozen times plus about 100 reaction Videos. It is ok though.. I can stop whenever I want!
I mean ... This man should've got oscar already. Mr Phoenix is so underrated cause hes not that into media. He s been just a few time in talk show and u can tell hes reserved but at the same time kind and genuine.
I cannot believe I’m about to say this but out of all DC movies coming out this year... JOKER is the one I am most looking forward to watch!! This trailer got me hooked right as it started
I am ready for this movie. This looks very promising. I love how the trailer, for me at least, slowly descended into insanity. Showing Arthur's descent into madness, second by second. And seeing this, you feel bad for Arthur.
"My mother always told me to put on a happy face" "I used to think that my life was a tragedy, but now I realize it's a comedy: IF YOU JUST SMILE" Brilliant
I don't know if anyone else noticed but I loved how at the beginning they had Arther walking up the stairs with his head down, and at the end, he was the Joker and dancing on same stairs. For me that shows how Arther was trying to potentially find his way or "identity" when his environment pushes him down a path that inevitably leads him to his true calling as one of the greatest villains of all time.
I'm excited. JP is a great actor and Joker is the perfect character to reinterpret again and again. And no comics fan should fear different film versions of characters! Remember, every movieverse is an Elseworlds or What-If tale. There is room for everything.
This is the first reaction, that repeated the trailer just to be 'sure' of the emotions. I love it. Your reaction was just the same as mine. I was astounded, and shocked by how dark it is.
Looks fantastic as a psychological thriller, but without the comic book connection. Curious to see what parts of the comics will be incorporated and what other recognizable characters will appear. The trailer makes the character seem sympathetic. Don't know if that's a good or bad thing.
I don't know if you consider this a spoiler but just in case Spoiler Alert In the cast list that little boy you see Joker talking to through the gate is Bruce Wane
And for everyone else watching the trailer confused as to wether This is an actual DC Film it is but it supposed to be a first of many alternative versions of certain characters separate from the main DC Cinematic Universe
Much like we’ve had different retellings of Batman with different actors and perspective,we finally get the beginning of how the Joker came to be. You didn’t even need to show him at all physically, just a mention or clue here and there, and let the story do the rest. With Joaquin Phoenix taking this role,I see it as him leading up to Heath Ledger. Both were capable of taking a character like him somewhere else unexpected. I think this will give us the backstory we have been waiting for. And I hope it does well for the franchise and we can explore more with him. I understood how you felt with how to describe your feelings and thoughts for this, and that’s okay. We’ll see how this does at the box office in October. Thanks for being honest and sharing with us.
In the comic everyone in Gotham says that Batman is the hero no one deserves so in this trailer,we see how people treat some random dude and creates this new saying which is Joker is the villian everyone deserves.
The kid in the trailer is bruce The guy in the TV is Thomas Joker will use makeup instead of falling into acid This probably doesn't take place in earth 1 or this isn't *THE* Joker but rather inspiration or one of the 3 The year is 1981
Joaquin Phoenix is so "Taxi Driver"/"King of Comedy" and "Arkham", brilliant. PS:"Pogo's", the club Arthur performes has the nickname of the serial killer John Wayne Gacy, who introduced himself as "Pogo the Clown" in children's parties and fairs where he targeted his victims. Dark.
The scene of the girl in the restaurant....she looks so happy that she met someone she likes but we all know it isn't going to end up happy ever after. Very sad scene! 😟 I can't stop watching this trailer! 🙈
I am in!! I was jacked when it was announced. Then Todd Phillips and Scorsese was attached. That news took it a new level. Now it’s my birthday movie!!! And I can not wait!!!! 🥳🤟🏾
I haven’t been to the cinema for years. I’m not even bothered about Avengers Endgame. But this! This! I would walk to the moon to see this film. The trailer has shown so little and yet so many of us identify with so many of us recognize that we are going to see something that will make us laugh, cry, think, maybe even lose our mind (if we haven’t lost it already). It’s going to be amazing 💜💚🃏
Martin Scorsese is one of the producers on this movie, and you can see nods to his films like Taxi Driver and The King of Comedy which stars Robert DeNiro who plays the Comedy Club host. It also plays on A Killing Joke graphic novel origin story of the Joker. His descent into madness and his transformation to the "agent of chaos". I think Beatz might be Harly Quinn, though. If she calls Phoenix "Mr. J" it's a done deal. Take my money now WB/DC!
HEe goes to Arkham for counseling and he didnt say that Gotham is messed up it was Mr Wayne said it , I think Joker just had killed the people on the train the Joker had a mask , Batman is not around form maybe a decade from the movie Bruce is the little kid maybe e went to see him after he killed his parents
Nah remember Martin Scorsese is also behind this project he's the god of crime dramas and Thai movie is gonna follow on the footsteps of taxi is gonna be dark is gonna be gritty and he's not gonna add the chemical shit because this is a different take on the clown Prince of crime
idk the teaser is not showing anything that confirms that the movie is RATED-R if it was then where is the red banned trailer it does look like its like the one from socide SQUAD but it does look too dark for a a pg13 my expectations are it will be R pretty much or else fans will destroy the box office
They're not going to go with the Red Hood origin, because it's unnecessary, the idea of Joker falling into a vat of acid and getting his skin bleached white and all that is really irrelevant. Because what really matters for the Joker is the Calamity that led up to the creation of the super Consciousness that is the Joker. Not exactly those specific circumstances.
@Harvey Grant that's wrong, this Joker isn't going with that dumb comic book explanation, in this trailer it clearly shows Joker in his fully fleshed-out form.
@Harvey Grant wrong, the joker falling in the acid was the final straw that pushed him over the edge after the death of his wife and failed career. This movie clearly shows him reaching that same point without the acid bath. So the only thing a future acid bath would do for this character is change his skin color. Which is pointless since this movie clearly and brilliantly displays a more realistic transformation.
@Harvey Grant no, in this movie he clearly has a tragic series of events. The costume he wears when he first gets beat up is the same one he has on when he makes a phone call in a phone booth and gets some very bad news, it's the same costume he has when he gets beat up AGAIN on the train and is already almost fully gone at that point..its the same costume you see him in later that night running with a bag in his hand...and finally it's the same costume when he spinning in front of the mirror in ecstasy, clearly transformed into something new...clearly the joker.
Nah no Batman here the guy in mask was mentioned for the joker and the other people wearing clown masks ...propel speculate that the kid he does the smile to is Bruce Wayne since we can tell that the dude talking about the mask is Thomas Wayne so it makes no sense Batman in the middle at all on this movie and I'm ok with that Thai is the joker not the joker featuring The Batman anyways if Thai movie kicks off the DC Dark banner I'm all in for it Thai is obviously not part of the DCEU this is part of justice league dark so we might see DCEU movies for normies and DC dark for more gritty takes on the comics
@@forastero54321 It`s been confirmed that Thomas Wayne will have an antagonistic role towards Arthur Fleck/The Joker since Alec Baldwin was considered for The Role but turned it down as he was weary of being constantly typecasted as corrupt politician and businessman types! The role instead went to the relatively unknown Brett Cullen. Also, fun fact:Dante Pereira-Olson who plays Young Bruce Wayne in The Film played Joaquin Phoenix`s character as a kid in "You Were Never There."
I've got a theory that Thomas Wayne is Arthur Flecks love child from an affair he had with Penny fleck years before...This would make the joker and the future Batman half brother's how's that for a twist:-):-):-)
william rivera i have a feeling this movie could simultaneously be a batman origin story....either joker kills the parents....or joe chill is one of the followers
I agree on the "One Bad Day" thing to an extent. I don't think his "one bad day" is gonna be played like the Joker tried to spin it with his twisted game with Commissioner Gordon in The Killing Joke, like it's a switch to go from sane to crazy. The trailer shows that this guy is so miserable with his job, his personal life, his mental issues, his trouble interacting with other people, the other people who abuse him because he's an easy target, and the pressure to just smile like nothing's wrong. He's sitting on a powder keg of issues and stress. I think THIS one bad day is gonna be the last straw that blows up that powder keg and lets out the side of himself that smiles more.
@@TALEOFA Maybe she rejects him first? The scene with him as the Joker and the flowers in the hallway could be connected to that. Maybe he wants to show her his new self and win her over...which I think will go very wrong...
@ToxicLullaby i'd say the look is a bit Cesar, the attitude once he's Joker feels a bit Nicholson (more cocky/playful than creepy/intense) and the derangement/hysteria he exudes is a bit Heath
Wasn't laughing at a singer, it was a comedian at the comedy club pogo(named after the serial killers John Wayne Gacy clown identity) This joker and his mother suffer from depression and other mental disabilities. He literally cannot laugh. he is so sad by feeling so different from everyone else who can laugh and find happiness in life, he forces a smile all the time, even in the beginning with the social worker. in the Train he is not really laughing but crying after suffering a tragedy. those guys attack him, and he ends up killing them you can see hes running from the police blue lights in the tunnel That little boy was a sad Bruce Wayne in the Cemetery, he put a smile on his face
I love Joaquin's joker because it also calls to attention the matter of mental health, which is important nowadays with a lot of high profile people that were very much loved committing suicide purposely or accidentally by drug use or by physical means (Robin Williams, Anthony Bourdain, Heath Ledger). I love the very end where he "smiles" as if he's come to terms with who he's become, and with he's planning to do at that point, hopefully going to kill those kids in the alley and the fratboy suits in the subway (which is my prediction). I just bought this funny Joker(s) shirt: You can get a facial reading to see how "crazy" he looks by how worried Leto's Worldstar HipHop Joker looks: www.ebay.com/itm/The-Killing-Joke-Of-Joker-Joaquin-Phoenix-Jared-Leto-Funny-Black-T-shirt/192874069758?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&var=493018592369&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2648
@@Strongtower23 Yep,making Joker and Batman paternal half-brothers in The Film much like they did with Sabretooth and Wolverine in "Origins"(To be fair,The Comics did give Wolverine a half-brother named Dog Logan who was speculated to be Sabretooth for a long time until The Character was killed off and a DNA test of his blood and Creed`s confirmed otherwise.)
“I am tired of people saying that poor character is the only reason people do wrong things. Actually, circumstances cause people to act a certain way. It's from those circumstances that a person's attitude is affected followed by weakening of character. Not the reverse. If we had no faults of our own, we should not take so much pleasure in noticing those in others and judging their lives as either black or white, good or bad. We all live our lives in shades of gray.”
This is a very... interesting take. Whatever scepticism I have with this film, I will say, Joaquin's Joker laugh is great, it kind of reminds me of Hamill or Romero. Also people have said his name is Arthur Fleck, A. Fleck, thinking that it might be a nod or Easter egg to Ben Affleck.
The song in this trailer is called Smile written by Charlie Chaplin for the classic film "Modern Times". About a man who works at an assembly-line and ends up having a mental breakdown at the end of the film. Pogo's the comedy club I believe is a direct reference to serial killer John Wayne Gacy's killer clown Pogo. This movie is a character study on how society is so toxic it drove a man with mental illness to become a psychopathic killer. "The worst part about having a mental illness is people expect you to behave like you don't :)."
