Allow me to paint you a picture, of a hypothetical Ace Attorney game, that features the Phantom Thieves quite heavily. A murder occurred, and the police suspect that there was blackmail involved, regarding a secret that only the victim and the murderer could have known. The police arrested the first person they saw(as always), who in this case was a dark haired young man, who had refused to talk to Phoenix ahead of time, due to a strong dislike of authority. Unfortunately for both him and Phoenix, the young man also knows this critically important secret. Over the first half of the trial, Phoenix pieces together that this young man must be a Phantom Thief, and works to clear him of suspicion of murder, without revealing that secret. During a recess, he gets a call from the Phantom Thief Ali Baba, who gives him a hint. Phoenix clears the young man, and expects to never see him again. But of course, this would be just the tutorial case.

Everyone's talking about how quickly Phoenix would get the case over with, but no one realizes how beautiful Gumshoe talking to Ryuji would be.

Now I’m trying to imagine the logistics of a crossover between the two. Maybe it’d like the Layton game, you have do to palaces or other metaverse stuff to get clues and evidence, then take it to court and beat a trial.

A Persona 5/Ace Attorney crossover would honestly be so cool. Sure, you would have to rearrange some things, like how stealing people's heart work but imagine like this: Joker is already found guilty for assault and is currently staying at Leblanc. Phoenix is taking a vacation and chooses Japan. He "coincidently" finds his way to Leblanc, starts to visit it more regularly and obviously notices Joker more often than not. One day, Joker (who earlier heard Phoenix being an attorney) approaches him and begs him to defend a friend of his who us being accused of attempted murder. This obviously is the Ryuji-Shiho-Kamoshida story line. Roll the rest of the story. You can include Joker's ability to steal hearts as in that he can perceive the twisted truth inside certain person's hearts. You could even imagine the shadow rulers as some special type of black psyche locks since the shadows are the true selfs one tries to hide, even from themselves. And in court you carefully have to weak it until you break it, since the uncareful, forceful break of a black psylock leads to a mental shutdown. The final case could have Joker as the defendant again, who is accused of the murder of Haru's father. And because of his rough treatment in prison and because he fears for his friends' safety he isn't cooperating very well, maybe even forced to accept Phoenix's defense, only so that Shido could bring him down too.

Remember the unused art for Evil Phoenix in Phoenix VS Layton?that is Phoenix's phantom thieve disguise.

Huh, so apparently both Ace Attorney 1 and Persona 5 takes place on 2016. What's more, the Von Karma case takes place on 25th of December, which is like literally a day after the Phantom Theives defeated Yaldabaoth. You can't make this shit up, these two are meant to crossover

You know, if I had the right sprite work… I could make this into an actual series. This would’ve been an alternative reality if they did not take the treasure in the palace of the intro part of the game. It would be the longest case because all the incidents whos hearts have changed are associated with Joker.

This gave me idea for a P5 fanfic where Phoenix Wright defends Ren from Shido and prevents him from being send to Sojiro while also exposing Shido's corruption making he get arrested This would also be kind of a bad ending, Kamoshida would stay in Shujin (i will not give the details of what would happen with this), Madarame would still plagiarize his pupils and eventually lead Yusuke to suicide, Makoto's relationship with Sae would get worse and she would be used by Shujin's director and etc.
