Tether is a lot more useful than people give it credit for, it can be used in all different stages of neutral, advantage, and disadvantage, along with Tether cancels! Today we will be covering this move a bit more in-depth and figuring out some of it's uses!

yea u cant buffer the cancel, u have to wait for the tether to clip to the ledge in order to cancel it

There's this really sick joker combo that is good at any% and it's pretty op. You can downtilt up tilt up air up air and then up b to drag them back down, then rinse and repeat.

Amazing video cozy, but i do have one big question. What do i do about lingering aerials on characters such as puff or kirby? ESPECIALLY KIRBY. My friend mains him and i keep losing stocks at 50 because of that darn lingering spike. How can i avoid it because i seriously have absolutely no idea what im supposed to do.

stick jump is usually recommended to be off! so it might be best to change it :D

yes, essentially tether cancels can be mixed up with reverse guns or guns in general as an edgeguard tool, and as a way to make your movement a bit trickier. and tethers can be used as a callout on jumps or high recovery choices

Good shit bro, can you explain the details of what happens when Joker gets doing the up b, this when the grappling hook still doesn't touch the ledge, when it touches the ledge, and when it touches the ledge and Joker is going up to grab the ledge. I've found situations where I get hit and no matter if I tech, I just cannot simple grab the ledge, might be what you mentioned that Joker gets affected when getting hit, but sometimes I can tech and still recover, having a double jump saves me from this, or doing tech + wall jump plus inputting an aerial. yea u definitely want to save your resources like double jumps when offstage, because if joker gets hit while using UpB, as long as he doesnt touch the ground or grab ledge again, the upB gets significantly worse because he doesnt get the small vertical boost again. so sometimes immediately cling to ledge can help, but at times waiting and holding on before clinging up can help too! its really a 50/50 depending on what ur opponent does

Thanks for the helpful content. The only thing I've ever struggled with mechanically is attack cancels. Recently I've been able to do insta rar bairs pretty consistently, (up to 50 in a row) but my rar up air is rough. You think practice is key or is there something completely different about the up air?

its pretty much the same input, except obviously flicking the c stick up. i don’t really use it but i just labbed it real quick and its even easier than rar bairs! at least for me 🤷🏽‍♂️ keep trying you’ll get it! 🔥

@@Bossboko it's super useful for turning around quick as possible for joker drag down combos. It makes Falcon's down throw combo into the back side of up air.

When I tether cancel and use my left bumper as jump to back air it doesn’t jump sometimes idk why

you might be hitting the trigger a bit too early because i also use left trigger to jump (depending on the type of jump) but i have not really had this issue, make sure you obviously have your double jump and try practicing it step by step in slow motion and try to get the timing down!

make sure to still have your double jump when tether cancelling so that u dont fastfall to your death! you could use other moves like another instant tether Up B but for the most part u want to have your double jump available when tether cancelling 👍🏽

if you have tap jump I would advise turning it off because by jumping with another button it can make you not accidentally (double) jump right as you Up B!
