I found the idea as a conversation on Tumblr awhile back. I contributed a versus here there to the conversation. I'm not surprised it wound up on Reddit but the reddit presence wasn't me. It seems to be a fail standard reaction for people to have to the song though. I've seen people get this idea on their first listen through in some form or another.

I know right? I made my eighth grade music teacher cry! Because she could tell I was really *trying* and still singing so badly I damaged the musical skill of the entire class and she had to ask me to stop. (she was an absolute sweet heart and the thought of discouraging a student nearlly killed her) Very thematically appropriate don't you think?

When life gives you lemons... Your talent might not be singing but I think it's just awesome that you could do this in this totally creepy way. I so hope the child you were wasn't crushed then, but reading how you remember your teacher in a loving way tells me she wasn't.
