I think the only problem with randoms is that whoever presses it first has the whole character pool randomized and the other just gets what's remaining. I think random is still probably best, but it is a little incongruent that way

yes yes yes, this is one of my favorite nintendo gamecube games of all time, I played last I believe in early 2022, when I still had a working gamecube, man i miss playing this game so much. Cannot wait for this to start. Such a great game to play. Just a great baseball/Mario game.

Don't wanna be rude but you guys should probably do the main mode of the game so you get more choices for random, like you're missing Monty, Toadette, Dixie Kong, Baby Luigi, Petey Piranha and Hammer Bro, the latter two are especially good. All ya have to do is clear challenge mode as Mario, Peach, DK, Yoshi, Wario and Bowser respectively.

If you're gonna do random to decide the teams (which im not a fan of but it is what it is), you should at least let each player rearrange the batting order/fielding positions so that each player has the best chance possible with the team they're given. Top of the lineup with a baserunner on third in the bottom of the final inning should be a hype ending, instead it was meh because jolly's best hitters weren't at the top!
