Anasui doesn’t get enough credit for doing what he did.. just a moment ago he talked about how much he’d like to survive and live the rest of his life with jolyne, but then he decided to die to give jotaro a better chance of killing pucci so everyone else other than him survive.. a true hero

I just realized its so much more depressing since emporio didn't just call out jolyne but called her... big sis.

Jolyne had NO fear facing Pucci, knowing she wasn't going to make it. She might be my second favorite JoJo, with Joseph being the first. She was such a soldier. Like her dad.

Jolyne being a loving and caring mother to Emporio till the very end really made this scene hurt. Especially since Emporio didn't even know what it was like to have a mom

I liked how everyone in the group did their part. Ermes stand allowed them to buy some time. Anasui protected and tried to setup a kill for Jotaro. Jotaro saved Jolyne who in turn saved Emporio. Emporio defeated Pucci with weather report. I personally would've found it weird if Giorno or Josuke came out of no where and defeat Pucci because realistically it would've taken the spotlight away from the main cast introduced.

Jonathan died at sea to keep Dio from escaping and give his wife and unborn son a chance at happiness. Jolyne died at sea to let Emporio escape and find a way to set everything right. It really has been a roundabout journey.

Man a good female protagonist like jolyne is so rare dude, the fact that she entrusted and betted everything on emporioh and called him not "her" but everyone's hope is what truly make her a genuine person.

Jolyne is definitely the most developed jojo. She reaches a beautiful maturity at the end of Stone ocean. Araki compared her to the Virgin Mary in the manga.

I love how kishibe rohan was teased to have survived the time acceleration.

Jolyne's such an amazing character, and she died at age 19 after spending, literally, the rest of her life in prison. Her sacrificing herself for Emporio really shows how much compassion she has. She constantly puts herself on the line for her friends throughout this part, like the baseball catching scene with F.F., her so passionately trying to retrieve her father's memories back, she stopped those guards from violating Hermes, and helped her get revenge on the guy who murdered her sister, and so on... This part was so phenomenal it had me rooting for both Jolyne and Pucci who are now both my favourite protagonist and antagonist of the whole series

Phantom Blood ending with Jonathan sacrificing himself to beat Dio and now Stone Ocean ends with Jolyne sacrificing herself to save Emporio & the world pure poetry

1:01 I can not stop crying.

I love the character of Jolyne. She's a courageous badass that does what believes that needs to be done. Seeing the scene where she jumps to her death is sad. the ending of SO is very bitter sweet. But i like the underlying theme a lot of this part and the previous one: that living every moment with a sense of justice is what means living in truth, as opposed to living seeing life as a series of achievements that must be reached regardless of the way they are achieved. With Diavolo, he literally erases the path so that he can reach a desired end, it's machiavellism taken to the literal extreme. With Pucci, "erasing" or "removing" or "resetting" it all until reaching something that is perfect, or living having a memory of the future, to act so that we can act to reach a specific future, is a similar theme. It's "we can do terrible things right now if that brings about the glorious future we imagine" that the villains act according to, vs what the Joestars, the heroes, predicate: "do what is right and follow your sense of justice at every step of the path, because even in the undesired event that that leads to misfortune, you will know that you did the best you could". Or, to put it succinctly, a righteous, heroic path is the correct way to live your life

I feel like this part was very hated before the anime but now that it’s ended many fans will see how much of a masterpiece this part truly was. See you all in steel ball run!

Just finished stone ocean, this got me deeply emotional. She heavily reminds me of joseph in several ways but had her fathers rage and fighting style. Rest in peace Jolyne

1:10 is touching because the butterflies flying away is meant to be a metaphor for Joylne leaving Emporio. There are a lot of butterflies because it could suggest that her body is disintegrating (like a corpse would normally) as we see with Jotaro, Anastasia and Hermes (due to time acceleration) fading quickly

The animation is so so smooth when Jolyne says "Face me father Pucci"

Most badass scene in the whole series imo. The chase underwater, the dolphins, the sacrifice that jotaro makes to save jolyne, the sacrifice that jolyne makes to save emporio, that shot of emporio reaching out to the horizon after jolyne dies, the freaking orchestral opera choir music playing, it's too good. Not to mention that pucci and made in heaven are just visually cool in general.

Hearing the sad theme as emporio rides away from Jolyne and the whole world bewildered at what's going on paints the chaos that Pucci is achieving hits hard. It genuinely feels like a hopeless scenario. I'm gonna miss this universe. Good job, DP.

The dolphins carrying Emporio to safety while under the loving guidance of the gentle butterflies is simply... *chef's kiss* 😭😭😭 All of the symbolism throughout the final 2 chapters just brings the original Joestar timeline around full circle, and it's a hauntingly beautiful way to tie up the loose ends before starting over from scratch with SBR. Araki really outdid himself, artistically speaking.

0:56 this is what makes Jojo's special, you can FEEL the characters putting everything on the line, the stakes at its highest, and you can't even anticipate what comes next because Araki has no fear of killing characters, no matter how loved they are.

Now I knew the meaning of the opening when jolyne runs towards pucci the same way Jonathan did in his opening, it’s because they both died before they could finish the job.

Arc 1 ending - Jonathan Joestar sacrifice his last life force to hold off Dio for his wife to escape in the sea. Arc 6 ending - Jolyne Joestar sacrifice herself to fight Dio's friend Pucci so Emporio can escape in the sea. Arc 1 ending is a man saving a woman. Arc 6 ending is a woman saving a man. but whichever ending, the Joestar spirit live on in the reader's mind.

This is why i like JoJo anime. The protagonist know they will die anyway if they fight the enemy. But instead of running away, they keep fighting. And when they die, they die. What a true masterpiece anime from Araki

Fun fact: Emporio is the only one who was with Jolyne since start. Ermes and Weather Report got injured in between and took rest, Anasui came in second part, Foo Fighters died at the end of 2nd part and Jotaro was in coma most of the time

Can we talk about how well this moment captured the panic, confusion, and drama of humanity facing Armageddon? Holy shit you can really feel the "it's the end of days" tone

One thing I liked from the manga was despite the entire universe speeding up, Rohan had set up a work schedule so efgicient, his manga still managed to catch up to all the deadlines before the reset Araki, you ok?

I love stone ocean sm it’s overhated and definitely has the best ending in the whole anime and manga

Pucci's VA is fucking amazing. I could feel his anger when he yelled Joestar as he jumped into the water.

Because so many people in the comments didn't understand the ending I will explain it to clear some of the misinformation surrounding it. Because Made in Heaven was not complete when Pucci was killed the universe reset with the souls from the original universe ( including the souls of the dead people ). The only one who has memories of the first universe is Emporio. Parts 1-5 are the same. The people we see at the end of part 6 are the same as the part 6 cast, they have the same souls but they don't have the memories of what happened. This is a fact, it's not a thing that is made vague or is left for the viewer's interpretation. Araki literally said himself that Irene has the same feelings and emotions as Jolyne ( basically she has the same soul) but she doesn't have the memories of what happened. To make it even more clear Araki also used Irene and Jolyne in that interview interchangeably, which further demonstrates that Jolyne is Irene, same person same soul. The same thing applies for the rest of the characters that we see at the end. Because Pucci's influence was erased from this new universe the cast was reborn in better lives, that's why Jolyne is named Irene, she doesn't need to fight a villain anymore, the joestar curse is gone. The Stone Ocean ending is a happy ending and it's by far the best ending that could've happened for the characters.

140 years later, and Jonathan's descendants still carry his will of fighting for those who can't, even if it means certain death. God, what a fucking amazing part.

Goodbye Jotaro, Jolyne, Ermes, Weather Report and Anasui . You will be missed

It's kinda poetic, Phantom Blood ends with Jonathan's Death, following the curse of the Joestar of dying prematurely, then Joseph mocks death and breaks the cycle, and mostly every JoJo main character does until Jolyne face the cycle once more and JoJo's, (At least the main universe) ends with her death, reanuding the cycle just to finish with the final enemy of the Joestars, if you think about it, it's kinda beautiful

the stakes, the music, the tone, ending of part 6 will forever be my favorite anime/manga ending

Even though she's facing an invisible enemy, even though she knows she'll die, she STILL put up a fight. A fight that will only be her demise, theJoJo bloodline of the OG universe ends with her. I love Jolyne so much.
