Seriously though 3 days ago I bought a Seiko 5 SNK805 and I legit write "no more watches" In my whiteboard and yesterday I bought a Timex Mk1 (Military inspired watch) Help me
@@nakazatotakeshi4286 Could be worse. I bought SBGA211 and told myself no more watches. I'm fighting the temptation to buy more now. Jody doesn't help with his videos.
Was given a Seiko divers watch from my late father, have loved watches from microbrands to high end and everything in between, this channel will never cease to be a pillar of information and pure entertainment overall! Keep up the great work Jody!
Just One More Watch watching your channel has had a lot to do with it, in fact no less than 4 of my pieces I learned about from your videos and immediately purchased because I liked them so much!
very good. i have a wish list of 40 watches, but i plan not to own more than 17. Nowadays, i have 11. The majority i bought in 2019, but i sold several i bought over the years.
There's certainly a nostalgic something to inheriting a watch...particularly an automatic...from a parent, isn't there. Mine is an early 70's Rolex Date, bought new by my late father around the time he met my mother, the original bracelet worn out in 90's, passed to me through my older brother, who knew I was fascinated more by such things. That something mechanical is so old, yet seems to work perfectly with minimal maintainance, is amazing to me.
Here's my watch collection just for fun and giggle. (Ranging from my least favourite to most favourite) 8. Casio HDD-600 7. Swatch London Club 5. Casio F94W 6. Casio F91W 4. Casio CA53W 3. Casio Databank DBC-611 2. Seiko 5 SNK361 1. Seiko 5 SNK806
I remember back in the 70s when digital watches came out.you needed 2hands and 2 fingers to get the time and date to work. The only people I knew who had them were doctors and bankers. Envy.
Nice show up. I try to keep my collection between 10 to 12 watches. Most of them are keepers. Today I am wearing a Ball Engineer M Challenger. Great piece
I really love manual wind watches. My daily beater is a Vostok Komradirskie. I love winding it up every morning. It makes you have a connection to your watch.
I bought & modified an SKX 009 about 3 months ago, that & JOMW has triggered something relentless in me. I have bought 9 watches since then all for less than the price of the modded SKX (sapphire bezel insert incoming). I have had to promise myself no more 'till 2020. Two Chinese specials arrived this week from Parnis, designs I haven't seen on YT yet. A 43mm cream waffle dial dress monster & a 42mm cream dial vintage looking GMT (fully working) small sub date dial at 6. The pair were less than £100 delivered in 9 days from China & are both running about +6s. Outrageous value & both stunning to my eyes. So thanks Jody ( I think) keep 'em coming buddy & enjoy the beach.
I have 20 watches in my collection. My wife gets mad every time I get a new one. She does not understand my fascination with watches. My favorites are budget good value watches. Oh well, cant stop. Onwards to new watches in 2020. My goal is 6 new watches!
I really appreciate this vid. What matters is that you talk about watches that mean something to you and I enjoy your enthusiasm. It is the enthusiasm and knowledge which carries the channel - and thank God the lack of muzak. It has been a real pleasure following you through 2019 and I wish you much success for 2020. Love it.
Awesome collection! I have several pieces in my collection that I keep in several different locations. Your collection is most impressive. I hope to someday acquire an Omega Speedmaster to my collection preferably the hand wind version. Thanks so very much for sharing, Jody! I try not to miss any of your videos. You are my hero!!!!
Currently, I own 121 watches to my chagrin, it was much much bigger 3 years ago. I had to do an intervention. I love watches, I love watches and a new dial face I see daily turns into a must have. I think you can relate.
My collection is up to a 146 I have recently bought alot of the watches that you had reviewed you do a fantastic job doing what you do I hope to see more videos from you.
G'day Jody. Just a quick thanks for suggesting the San Martin Marine Master 300. I received the green dial yesterday and I'm suitably impressed! Talk about a lume monster. This eclipses all my other watches in this regard, and I have a few that I considered excellent ... until now. The watch feels really solid and comparable to my similar style Seiko's, but at a more agreeable price. I'm hoping to keep my wallet zipped until well into the new year, but we all know how well that will turn out. 😲
Hallo Jody, That is one very impressive collection of watches my RU-vid friend! I own (at the moment) 13 watches. Nothing expensive or fancy I'am afraid. Nothing over 200 euro's, but I am more than happy! Let's see what 2020 will bring us!
I owned about 30-40 different watches, if i consider all that i owned from 2008-2019. Nowadays, i have eleven (11) watches, but planning carefully to reach 17 (16 in my wardrobe, 1 in my watch winder). I have watches from US$ 50 (casio and vostok) to US$ 2000 (omega, longines and tag heuer).
I’m on a JOMW binge right now. I found myself saying ‘ooh thats my favourite, oh no now thats my favourite, wow now this is the one...’ throughout your collection!
A year ago, I had less than 10 watches. Two more wristwatch cases arrived yesterday, so I may be slowing down my purchasing, but a have raised my quantity limit. Current wristwatches: 19 Casio (3 AE-1200’s), 12 Citizen, 4 Orient, 4 Seiko, 4 Timex, 3 Bulova, one each Hamilton (vintage), Tissot (vintage), Megir, Omron, Storm. 31 mechanical stopwatches. 5 quartz stopwatches. 10 pocket watches. On the way: Bertucci, Zeppelin, Bulova & Seiko wristwatches. I am still under 100 (we won’t count the clocks).
I totally agree with not being a fan of polished surfaces on watches ! I stay clear from many watches due to this fact. I just love polished cases or beat blasted . The AT and Breitling aerospace are my favorites from your collection. I now have 7 watches but have 12 watchbox next year.
If this helps you feel better, I’ve got around 34 watches in my collection. This is from collecting from April of 2018 to February 2019. All Casios/G-Shocks except for one Seiko SKX009. My watch-buying days are done for now because of financial reasons and because I have no space for more watches, but I love every single one of my watches and don’t feel any regret buying them. Great watch collection that you have. Many beautiful pieces you’ve got.
Don't worry, I have capped my collection at 36, 12 quartz grab and go and 24 automatics, and from 24 different makers. A vostok been the cheapest and an Oris at the top end. My personal favourites been steinhart and christopher ward. Keep up the good work and thanks for all the advice....
It's always interesting to see which watches youtubers actually keep in their collections. I would love to see a companion video to this of all the watches you sold/gifted throughout the year and your reasons for doing so.
Great collection! Love the Aerospace! I have always wanted one. Totally love the Kosmonauta, I have been eyeing it since your last video... Just can't bring myself to pull the trigger at $400 CDN. But will probably crack and pick one up soon.
That Acura Wayfarer looks so fresh, original and has a really great design. The bracelet looks amazing, too. Can't wait see what's next from the microbrands. They have such a potential.
Very nice collection. I have 80 in my collection. Lots of Citizen ecodrives, some vintage handwinds. My biggest problem is choosing one to wear when going out!
I stumbled onto your videos one day and your Casio A168 video was what made me buy one of my own, my first dive into the watch world, love that little guy. shiny and retro!
Jody, nice collection especially the ones that are from your Gramps, Dad, and Wife, I'm sure those will stay forever and I don't blame you. The G Shock reminded me of the one I had when I was in the military which was my "Go to Hell Watch" tough as hell, but not tough enough when I passed it to my oldest son, he managed to "break it" within weeks! Great collection, I myself have currently 31 watches in mine but I have given away to my youngest son several throughout the years and have sold others. If I were to have kept some of those, you could say the collection could be larger. I have also been trying to cap myself at 30 but it is hard sometimes with nice models that pop up or good buys/opportunities that are hard to let go away. Anyway great vid!
Going back to this video a couple years as it popped up in my feed again and it’s amazing how are interests and styles change because that Breitling Aerospace is looking mighty slick right about now. Extremely cool piece ! Ani/ Digi / Titanium Breitling is definitely cool. Thanks again as I still watch em all , solid work brother !
Nice one Jody you have an amazing collection. I have emm 74 pices in my modest collection so you can feel better. As i say modest as the most expensive is my beloved Seiko Allpinist and SKX 007. I also have about 20 Vostok and the rest are Seiko with a Zepplin thrown in for good measure. I also have a number of Chinese specials that you have reviewed on the channel that i love. The Loreo and Pergani Hulk and Daytona homage watches and my most recent perchance the Corgeut Chronograph. I think my wife may ban me from watching your channel haha Thank you for the last year and all the great reviews. Darren.
I used to have a 30+ watch collection but I retired and downsized everything. For a nice Gold watch I have kept my Citizen Eagle 7 that keeps time as well as a quartz. My crown jewel is my Seamaster 120 automatic that I bought in Switzerland in 1971. Unfortunately the stem has stripped and I cannot find a replacement. I am not ready to send it back to the factory again, price prohibitive. I enjoy your videos.
Wish I could say just 30 but, while watching your video I decided to take inventory of what's in my collection and counted 97 🥺 watches from 23 manufacturers around the world. Seiko's dominate my collection. My first "adult" watch was an automatic 19-jewel Seiko given to me by my Dad back in 1973 for my 11th 🎂. I still have it and it runs. All watches received (8) as a gift or for employment service recognition over the years are still in my collection, fully functional and are keepers until it's time to pass them down to my daughter or her child(ren). I have a wide variety of styles to keep the collection interesting 😉. The same goes for the movements which include: Automatic, Quartz, Kinetic, Solar and Mechanical. Several of my purchases were based on watching reviews and recommendations by you, TGV and Marc from Long Island Watch. My favorite purchase inspired by you is my Zelos Swordfish which is number 013/200. Interestingly, my birthday falls on the 13th. Best of wishes and acquisitions to you in 2020.
Love your videos and love your jomw sotc!!! You’ve got me beat on the number of watches but I’ve only been collecting for a little over a year. I’ve got 23 watches in my collection and 5 have been there for many years. If you count those early ones as a collection then I have been collecting since 1970, just not seriously. I love wrist watches and have had one or another on my wrist continuously since I was I was 8 years old. I even sleep with one on. I feel naked without it!!!
Wonderful round-up! Just as last year, it's always wonderful to hear you talk soo lovingly and earnestly about the more personal pieces in your collection 😁⌚💗
Ooooohh! That Polish cosmonaut looks a treat, anyone can into space with this one! 🇵🇱👨🚀 Nice walkthrough Jody - and itching to see what piece of German Bauhaus (or otherwise) you're gonna show off in 2020! I only have 6 in my collection (Vostoks, a Spinnaker and a couple of beater quartz), but the 7th - a gorgeous Chinese special - is on its way. 👹 Cheers from Estonia, Alex.
I'm afraid to count. Highlights are an Omega Sparkle - my dads, a Steinhart GMY 39 - great size, best bang for the buck IMHO, a gold pocket watch from my wife on our marriage, and my absolute favorite... Omega Moonie that I bought for $1400 back in the 90s when a local jeweler was clearing out their Omega stock completely - I've wanted one of those since I was tyke in the 60s following the Apollo program. A Laco pilot, an Orient, couple.of citizens, etc.
Great channel integrity, Jody! I have 20 of the little f...ers in my collection ( mainly Chinese specials). Mostly accessorizing now, and modding ( to keep from buying another watch). No more. No more! I still want to get the touchstone designs in small brand or homage.
Wow 87! That's way more than my 48 ISH from my previous comment on here which by the way I think I've actually miscalculated and is over 50... perhaps I need to do an Instagram SOTC of my own if I can find the time at the moment that is..
I have the Breitling Aerospace EVO blue dial and it's a gem, but I bought a Casio Oceanus S5000 as well and that's seriously kicking the Breitling's a**, but as the Breitling was a gift from my dad, it will stay in the collection forever. Total number of watches, if I count those in the bank safety deposit box, due to insurance's reason, I suppose I have around 40 watches, all in. The ones I use the most, the Rolex Explorer II GMT, Oceanus S5000, a Submariner, the SKX with a sapphire crystal and movement swap, and the Laco 42mm flieger.
Just got #19 an hour ago and it happens to be my personal grail watch, the Tudor Black Bay. I wanted the vintage colored one but that was sold so i settled with the blue bezel/black dial variant. The most I've EVER spent on ANYTHING but I wasn't about to let it get away like the last one. Great video as always and wonderful collection Jody!!
I have around 40 Swiss automatic movement wristwatches. Glycine 5 Airman 5 Combat Sub, 3 Squale, Zodiac, Hamilton, Crepas, Christopher Ward, Sinn 104, Longines, Eterna, Tudor Black Bay 41, Shinola Runwell 46mm, Ocean7, 3 RXW ROCKX, Maurice LaCroix Alarm UTC, 2 Anonimo originals, Evant and many more. Average cost $1,000. The highest paid for $2,400 and the lowest $313. I have been collecting for 45 years and have the best like Patek Philippe, JLC, IWC, Cartier, Blancpain but all sold. So, I hope this make you feel better that at least $40,000 USD have been sunk into these over time!
In addition to a few Casios, you and I both own the Cadisen, but I was surprised you don’t own a Tevise T801A, a nice automatic subby homage that can be found for $22.99 on Gearbest. Great video, I really enjoyed reviewing your collection! Thanks, Jodie!
10 and counting ... (Oris, JLC, IWC, Chronoswiss, Fortis, Nomos, Sinn, Zelos, Yema, Direnzo). I am trying to have as much variety as possible in my small collection, in terms of country of origin, brand, style, functions, etc. Next on my wish list are Christopher Ward, Glashütte Original and Omega. As I want to focus on quality rather than quantity and not go much beyond 10 (or maybe a dozen) watches, I have begun to give some of them away to my loved ones (Oris - son, Nomos - wife, IWC - father). Cheers!
Super video, Jody. Looking forward to another year watching your channel. Sitting on a modest 3 watch collection at the moment. A Citizen Eco-Drive I bought years ago without knowing much about what I was doing, luckily made a decent choice. Then straight down the middle of the road with a Seiko SNK809 and Orient Bambino. Looking to pick up a Hamilton Viewmatic in January when I start a new job. I'm a big fan of the H32515555 and I think it should make for an excellent office watch. Maybe an Oris Aquis by the end of the year.
Great vid Jody. I too have 30 watches including my late Dad's retirement watch. Love to see watches kept for sentiment. I still have my old Tag F1 that was a 30th birthday present. I'm now 56. But above all, some days just feel like a 10 quid casio day! Keep up the good work.
Sold one today.... one coming next week.... one came this week....best not to count or think about it too hard....at least for me. Like all the family watches you kept. Those are the important ones.
I am new so my collection is not large, but I love them. 4 quartz (Casio, Citizen, Luminox, Seiko) and one automatic (Seiko). I did not see you go through the watches that are behind you in the winders. Yours is a great channel. Keep it up.
I currently have 26 watches in my collection. But I've decided to try and get it down to 20, as I only have the two 10 piece watch boxes. So at the moment I'm trying to sell 6... The only problem is I've got another 2 on the way, and I've just ordered another 2 as well 🤦♂️
@londonmark6969 Mark I've only been collecting just over a year. I started out with some AliExpress watches, then moved up to the more expensive ones on there. Now I've started exploring micro brands and recently received my Spinnaker Bradner and I'm awaiting the Hamtun H2 Kraken.
I discovered your channel this year and my bank account thanks you HAHAHA. All seriousness great channel. Love the reviews. 23 so far in my collection. I feel like it will grow more now that I have discovered AliExpress
Jody, I personally think you did the right thing concerning the brushing of your beautiful Aquatera. I know exactly what you mean, it looks a great deal more subtle now the bracelets been brushed. It's by far your classiest watch, clearly your missus has great taste. By the way, I 'm lucky enough to own a BB58, apart for the lack of a on the fly adjustable clasp, this is an unbelievable watch. You & Mr X should go for it, it'll make a great video for sure.
I have 2 boxes of 12 and a box of 6...so 30 for me as well. This a collection that started in the 70’s when I was a kid tho... I even kept a pair of 80’s Swatch watches ... which I’d often wear together on one wrist in the Flock of Seagulls era.. ..😅
I have 2 and one needs a battery. Combined cost $150. But that was for the 90s Seiko Sports Chronograph 150 (need battery). The other is a Lorus, looks like a small Hamilton, that was found in a parking lot.
I’m down from over 50 pieces down to just 19. Very few for a wristwatch channel but it was getting hard to know what to wear each day. 19 is slightly more manageable. Lol! Great collection Jody!
Heck I stopped counting when I hit 30 in the collection. In terms of junk pieces there is another 10+. Great video great collection. Love my aqua terra quartz , got for my 20th anniversary
Hi Jody! I love your annual SOTC videos! Honestly I couldn’t tell how many watches I got without starting to count them. Maybe 50+... 🤔 But there is one box with eight timepieces I consider as my collection at the moment: - JLC Reverso Classic Small Second - Rolex OP 39mm with a rhodium dial - Omega Seamaster with a blue dial from 2016 - Nomos Orion 38mm date - Nomos Club Campus with a white dial - Helios Seaforth V2 with an abyss blue dial - Maurice Lacroix Aikon Automatic with a blue dial - Formex Essence Automatic with a black dial I would like to add a chronograph from 1966 with a black dial to kill two birds with one stone: The missing chrono in my collection and a proper birth year watch! 😉 Best regards, Claus
Hello Jody! I love seeing your collection, especially the Casios. I have been keeping myself under tight control- I have one G Shock, a Rangeman, but the temptation to buy another is always there. Interestingly, I overlap you a bit, especially when it comes to Breitling and Oris. I have an Aerospace too - mine I picked up 20 years ago, still hold onto for nostalgia. And I picked up a Colt chronograph a few years ago, instead of the Navitimer, since the style felt a bit more like me. Love that watch - it’s 200m water resistant with fantastic lume, which is almost silly for a chronograph. For Oris, I went with an Aquis with gradient blue dial. It’s a really pretty dive watch (if you can forgive a dive watch for being pretty). Meanwhile , you’re influencing my thoughts about 2020 - I am flirting with picking up a Helm Khuraburi this year, which is entirely your fault. And your Omega AT has me thinking as well. Oof!
Great stuff Jody, keep it up. Maybe a Tudor in 2020?! I know the BBs get all the attention (the 58 is quite special) but also check out the Heritage Advisor. I recently got the white dial version and the alarm complication is unique - I think it is very underrated. Hope you are enjoying the holiday!
This year I sold off lower/mid range leaving 6 premium brands, a G shock and Laco fleiger as beaters. Enjoy my collection so much more now as its much easier giving 6 watches wrist time plus the 6 are all decent.
Realy nice collection! At the moment i have 24 watches, and a Helm Vanuatu on preorder. In 2019 i bought 3, the Helm, a Heimdallr Tuna Can and a Casio EFR-107. I have sold 52 (!)😱, one Patek, 31 G-Shocks and 20 Vostok Amphibia. My 3 favourites are: Casio w-735h for work (welding railway tracks). Another Casio w-735h for working around the house and the Casio efr-107 for pretty much all other occasions... My goal for 2020 is to reduce it to a maximum of 20, but it gets harder and harder...🤔
I've got 15 with three on the way (my first Citizen and my first two Casios: Ga-2100 and a blacked out basic square) and have only been collecting about 14 months... A little frightening how this sucks you in. I picked up an F91w for my son last year and a back to the future calculator watch for his birthday next week. 👍
Number of watches I owned at the start of the year.....1 Number of watches I own now...23 Around 15 of them are 20-40 year old Russian time pieces. A couple of Vostoks, Raketas, Poljots, Pobeda, Chaika and Zim. I have a couple of Casio's, a 1980 Seiko 5, whispers (an Earnshaw), a couple of Aliexpress specials and the one I hide from my wife - a Tissot Visodate. Just ordered a San Martin Seiko 62 Mas homage.
I recently offloaded a lot of my collection to pick up my, now pride and joy, Longines L2.759.4.78.5 Master Collection Chrono, however managed to hold onto my Seiko SKX013 and my TimeX Weekender, so overall I have 3 watches at this moment in time.
I've got twenty watches in my current collection and one other...its whereabouts currently unknown. Not sure where the hell i put it. Of those all but one...a tiny child's Timex...given to me as a gift for my first holy communion back in 1972 when I was seven...are in working order. In my collection is another Timex 38mm hand winder I was given by my grandparents for my holy confirmation in 1978. It still works perfectly and keeps excellent time. Whilst I have no luxury watches I do have three Seiko automatics, four Skagens, two AVI-8's, two Momentums, a Swatch, three modern Timex as well as a couple of Fossils and Casio analogs.
