Performed at the "Arnold Schwarzenegger Tribute", I finally found that video snippet on an old tape last night. The quality wasn't the best, but I could save some during the transfer and replaced the audio with a different source.
OK, I must admit. When I first saw that Bon Jovi had covered it’s only make believe, I said this isn’t going to go well. Have a grown-up listening to both artist, and I just didn’t see John singing this song the way it should be sang. However I must say just like the comment below, I too am impressed. He was able to keep Conways concept of the song intact, while including his unique 80s voice that we all grew up loving great job!
I have to admit that I don't think anyone else could have done it as well as bon Jovi. He impressed the heck out of me and being a eternal Conway fan, that wasn't easy to do
@@dianeribchester4429 I am a bit biased and think Glen Campbell's version is the best, simply by the way he makes the song climax together with his vocals
I remember 1958 perfectly,yes,I’m that old! Lol. Beautiful rendition,beautiful voice,beautiful vibrato,beautiful control! Wherever Conway is I just know he’s very proud!👏🏽👏🏼👏🏻👏🏿💙
Only a singer can make this great song work. They say the version you heard first you think is the best.. Well that may be but this was one hell of a performance. Going to play it again.
@@CornwallGhosts - so strange. According to the internet, you’re correct. But my mom is an Elvis fanatic and I swear I can hear it in my head. Oh well, Mandela effect.
Love it when modern day rockers apply those pipes to classical in other genres, great job! Same with justin Timberlake on folk classic "500 miles". I love these classics are living on!
Lainey Kleever Conway was a fav of mine until I was 14 and my dad took me to a rodeo in Sikeston MO to see him. We found his bus and as soon as the concert was over, I ran as hard and fast as I could to get to the bus before Conway. He came out, walked between the bus and fence where I was standing holding a piece of paper and pen asking for an autograph. I was the only person there, my family hadn’t caught up to me yet, and still Conway wouldn’t give me an autograph. I was a kid, but that was the end of my idolizing, or listening to, Conway. As an adult, I can make lots of excuses, rationalize, and justify why he didn’t stop to sign an autograph, but as a child, there was no excuse. He didn’t have time for me and I wasn’t going to spend time or money on him. I’m sure he never missed my $3 for his albums/45s.
@@charlottealverson1396 Charlotte, sorry to hear about the disappointment. I would have felt the same way if it happened to me. I agree, you don't let children down. I hope you are on your bigger and better things now!
@@RFXLR I hear you Grammar Police. I just never heard Bon Jovi do this song. I first heard Glen Campbell years ago, then Conway Twitty's original version. My favorite is Glen Campbell.
Eu me identifico com uma mulher da plateia que olha pro JON com um olhar de deslumbre tipo , como pode ser tão lindo , tão perfeito e ainda cantar desse jeito só o JON perfeito BON JOVI é assim , amooo só muito
